Pros The ease of use. It is very easy to navigate through and track project time to bill our clients. It is also very easy to pull reports to track hourly rates for clients and see how we are year over year. The software makes it easy to track employee time as well and allow us to keep an eye on who is not submitting time sheets properly to ensure accurate billing and time tracking for client profitability. Cons When looking up a specific client and adding someone to a certain project it automatically redirects you from the client listings, were are frustrating. Each time you edit one project you have to click projects to bring you back to the listings of every client and it is time consuming and i feel like there could be a much easier way to do this that is less time consuming. It is easy, friendly and reliable to the point of becoming addictive. It have seen it used by freelancers and small companies. You can quickly get started with tracking your time and expenses, keeping track of project progress, invoicing customers, tracking invoices and offering online payment. The learning curve is quite mild. Cons It would be nice to improve some of the basic features so that users have more power and granular control. For example, I would like to see the ability to mark or unmark specific hours as invoiced and to duplicate recurring invoices. They have gone slightly in this direction, but it seems their development effort is mostly spent on adding new functionality such as project management. Also, if you're only using a subset of the offered functionality, then it's not exactly cheap. However, I'm happy to pay, the quality makes it worthy. Review Source LE Lily E. This software allowed my boss to keep track of my work to bill her clients. I thought it was easy to learn and use and kept things very organized. Frustrating though to have to wait for my boss to input projects before I could add time. Pros I liked that I could input the time I spent on a project after the fact rather than having to use it like a time clock. I find this to be the most efficient way to keep track of time spent on projects when you are organized and rely more on self accountability. Cons I didn't like that, as a user rather than administrator, I couldn't create new projects. It was frustrating when my boss hadn't input new projects yet and I had to get her to create the project before I could add time in there. I can use any currency and I can track the time I spend working for each client, each project and also the projects that are not invoiceable as well. I can integrate it with my accounting software and I often use the chrome extension or the mobile app for time tracking. September 13, 2018 5.0 This is great for transparency and keeping track of hours spent on client projects. Pros I loved using this tool, which is so simple and easy to use. Time-tracking software at it's best. The great feature of this tool is that even if you forget to track your time, you can go back and add in the time that you missed, which has saved me a few times. Can send invoices directly from Harvest from time tracked, and also misc invoices. Tons of integrations and great detailed reports. Cons No Windows application. Does not integrate with Freshbooks. Pros (1) User experience is exceptional. Tracking time within projects is extremely intuitive. (2) Very visual product in terms of forecasted costs on a given project. (3) Reporting is the best part - gather data based on team members, area of work, date range, etc. Cons (1) It appears there are multiple different funnels to get to the same information. These flows make the platform seem convoluted, redundant, and sometimes confusing. (2) Invoicing UI could be improved. For example, creating and linking invoices to projects follows a seemingly arbitrary rule set. Pros Harvest is my favorite project time tracking application. The best part is that I am able to track the time I am spending on each project without even opening my browser, I do it directly through the chrome extension. It connected straight to my Stripe account and helped me get my money in my bank account painlessly. Pros Harvest is super easy and helpful. I love that it integrates directly with Stripe and Toggl and all kinds of other services. When you set it up with those other services, invoicing just becomes a cakewalk and you almost forget its a thing. That's a characteristic of great software; you forget all about it because it just does its job so perfectly. Cons I can't think of a single complaint! I was never a heavy user though. When my company still used Harvest I was always on top of my timesheet. Now that we have moved to another product, I find that it takes more time to get my timesheet. in. Cons Not as many features and integrations as other timer products. This may have changed but at the time I used Harvest it didn't have an autotrack feature like other products have. I just start the timer whenever I start work and end it when I finish. Pros I just set the timer to start and continue working. Whenever I switch tasks, I'll switch the timer. It's an easy way to keep track of how long you take doing things. Cons Sometimes the sign in page does not let me sign up with my credentials. Even though they are correct, it wouldn't sign me in. Pros Really like how seamlessly it integrates with the PM software, Basecamp. A little stop watch/clock appears next to each task within a project, making it easy to track the time "per task." Cons It used to be one of the most prominent time tracking solutions but has failed to keep with the times and evolve in terms of user experience. May 5, 2020 5.0 We use harvest as a time-tracking software for billing clients. Works like a dream, no complaints yet! Pros As a user, this is the best time-tracking software I have ever used. I do not have to worry about asking for a supervisor to clock me out the previous day because I forgot to do so. It is highly customizable and provides weekly breakdowns to each user through email. Pros Harvest is an easy-to-use system for tracking time and expenses, which is particularly useful in a consulting capacity when balancing work for multiple clients. Adding time to and tracking multiple projects is quick and painless, whether you're tracking time manually or automatically using the built-in timer. The mobile app is particularly useful for uploading receipts for business expenses using your phone's camera. Cons While the menubar app for Mac is helpful, there are some limitations to its functionality. For example, there's no clear way to submit your timesheet for approval from within the toolbar, so you still have to access the web or mobile app to complete that action.
