Pros Harvest makes it incredibly easy to keep mission-synced, goal-oriented time on all of your work. Whether billing hours or just keeping track of time spent on a project, Harvest allows you to concurrently and retroactively track your effort, keeping you on plan or on budget. Cons The biggest con of Harvest has little to do with the software. Harvest is a tool of habit, and if you don't leverage that tool, the value is greatly reduced. Use it daily, and it pays off fast. No frills, just what you need. Pros They have hands down some of the best support of any SAAS company, and for a very reasonable price tag. I almost always get same-day answers. The basic features are very simple to use and are getting even more simple. I love that it has simple time tracking and invoicing that just work. Cons I wish you could style the invoices more, they look pretty bland. I also wish you could charge credit card fees to the customer automatically when they use a card (this is legal where I live in TN). And accepting e-check would be great, too. But I wouldn't be surprised if they implement some of these features, they've been requested! La utilizo combinada con el programa NIFTY y me permite llevar el control de una pequeña empresa de forma completamente profesional. Cons Todos los programas adolecen de no poder ser un todo en uno. Event Manager Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great for tracking time if you're working on a client project" January 19, 2018 4.0 Pros I use this tool every day to track my time when I'm doing anything for a client. The browser extension makes it quick and easy to select the project and record the hours against it. When you log in you can see how much time you've spent that week / month and download reports for the client if required. The whole team uses this and it's been really easy to get everyone set up and using it. Cons If you make a mistake when logging time using the extension you need to log into the interface and correct it - which can be time-consuming. It's also very easy to forget to turn the timer off so you can easily log extra time. However, they do send you an email notification to remind you about this so it's relatively easy to correct. The free trial was great and afterwards, the monthly cost is affordable. Above all love how easy it is to use the program. Pros I really like this software for its easy user interface and reporting metrics. It's easy to navigate and I don't need to watch videos, receive training, or other stuff like that to figure it out. I'm able to track hours and more with ease. Pros I like the estimates, invoicing and time tracking from Harvest the best. We have it integrated with Asana and works great. Cons I wish the estimate templates gave you more control over the layout design. They make it incredibly easy to put in the client, project, and setup billable/non-billable hours with specific rates pending on the client. They also have a mobile app and desktop app that makes it incredibly easy to track hours with as well. Cons The only thing I felt like it was missing or that I would have liked to seen was a task management system. I believe Harvest now offers an integration with Asana though for that reason. Cons A lot of stuff is outdated, like the UI or the concepts. There is no way to really manage overtime for full or part time employees. Also there is no way to manage vacations like an approval by a manager or having a calendar feed. The cost tracking is basically useless because there is no history to changed rates, so if something changes it also changes for the past. Also there should be automated reports for sending times to our external accounting provider. Cons What I don't like is the fact that it'll only ask me if I've left my timer running for about 10 hours. I'd prefer to be able to check it to like 4 or 5-hour increments. June 27, 2017 4.0 I was able to easily track the time associated with projects and invoice based on those times. It was helpful to have that information not only for the project while it was inaction, but also for archival purposes to be able to estimate future projects. We had several users that contributed to the projects so it was a good tool to see how the project had progressed. Pros I like that it is simple to get started and easy to use. It is so easy, you have to put very little effort into getting started. Billing is straight forward, making estimates is a breeze and the customer service has always been top notch and responsive. Cons It is not for project planning, which is something that I think would be very beneficial. Especially for a services based company, I would like to see the ability to create a simple project with associates time lines, budgets and deadlines. Pros I love how robust Harvest is excellent for tracking all project-related expenses for time and billing. I love that I can plug in different hourly prices per team member or skill set to have a precise report on project costs. Cons I don't love Harvest for actually managing project tasks. The highest level, maybe, but not actual PM and forecasting. Its very helpful to keep track and super easy to add in time even if you are backlogged. Pros It's pretty easy to understand and they constantly add in new plugins to connect to make time tracking easier such as tracking to your google calendar or tracking via asana tasks which is pretty awesome. It's also great at sending you alerts if a project is nearing too many hours per budget. Cons You can't easily find all your projects for one client as a whole very easily. You have to go through the number system they have at the bottom but if you a lot of clients in there it takes forever to find. It would be nice to have it page through by alphabetical there instead of 1-X. Harvest makes it convenient for me to track what I am working on throughout my work day and provides transparency to my employer on what I have been working on. And Stable. Pros The power and how it's hidden to keep the app simple to use for most people. But when you need it, you can grant it to a user and they can dive into deep reports that show everything that ever happened in our agency. Their Mac and mobile apps are great, too! Cons While Harvest doesn't feel all that much outdated, it could probably use a design refresh to take advantage of higher-resolution screens we all work on these days. The tool is quite easy to use on either desktop or mobile. Harvest also provides you with reports that you can look at by the day, week, or month to see where you spent your time the most. Cons The tool is limited if you want to integrate it with other accounting or project management software. If the speed issues can be resolved, this would be a much more efficient time tracking product. Pros Harvest provides a really simple and easy-to-use interface for team members to track time. It's simply a case of selecting a project and the task within that project, then logging the amount of time. It couldn't be any simpler. Cons At times, Harvest is quite slow to load, wasting precious time waiting for the time tracking system to load. This is a particular issue when trying to view time reports on projects, as that requires loading different pages, causing a considerable wait time. Pros We use Harvest to track time billed to clients. This is great for tracking hours for specific clients. The integrations work really well. Cons I dislike that sometimes it can be easy to track for the wrong client. The report also rounds to the nearest 15 minutes unless you select a detailed report. December 29, 2017 4.0 Detailed reporting of hours my team and I are logging. Takes the guesswork out of hours and expenses. Pros I can easily clock my hours and expenses for each task I'm working on. This allows me to also better manage my time and keep track of how many hours I'm spending on each client/project. Cons While this easily tracks my hours and expenses, I still have to use another software to create and assign tasks and then integrate it with Harvest.
