Pros So much easier than relying on a stopwatch. The ability to add different jobs and categories as the need arises is especially useful. Cons A lot of jobs can take several days to complete, so the lack of a feature that allows you to pull up the previous day's job and add additional time to it is a bit of a headache. Very easy to use and set up new projects. Cons The reporting aspect of the tool needs work. It changed the way we log and invoice hours, as it is much easier due to the TEAMWORK integration and its built in features. Support is great and fast. Highly recommended. Pros Integration to TEAMWORK actually boost our use of TEAMWORK. Possible to FORECAST the team work load and compare estimated with actual time (extra $5 per user). Very nice REPORTING tools really help you to visualize and have insights about how your resources are used. Built in APPROVAL work flow to improve security and compliance. Easy way to INVOICE billable hours (Quickbooks and Xero integration). Cons Not possible to import entries from other systems was the only down side of implementing it so far as we are not able to see the historic data in the Harvest. Because we need to pay for different systems (TEAMWORK, HARVEST and FORECAST) the total cost per user for our company can be around $30. Not a problem but probably there are other systems that can do it all for the same price (but I need to say that Harvest has one of the best interfaces and reports that I ever see. Good performance, good user experience, easy to use. Cons: Harvest has poor reporting capabilities - you cannot see Margin for a project in the reporting. This is a basic functionality of time tracking for project management. When I asked Harvest about this, the customer service agent responded "Unfortunately, there isn't currently a way in Harvest to measure profit margins on projects. I'm sorry about that! While we don't have any plans to add profitability reporting right now, it is a common request we hear" This makes our company often question the business value of Harvest and the future of Harvest's product. I challenge Harvest's Product Management team to go back to the basics of Product Management and seriously consider features that are "common requests" from your customers AND easy to implement with the data that you already have. Support was very friendly too. But to be frank, doesn't proactively solve the issues for me! Pros Very simple, straight forward. Can make estimates, invoices, recurring invoices, reminders, payment notes. That's all most of us really need. Cons Lacks a number of customizable features. A few features were obviously hardcoded in, and don't provide much flexiblity. There are workarounds, and I guess its simplicity makes up for it. Emails are only mobile width, doesn't look so visually appealing. App doesn't work on my Pixel 3XL. Crashes on Invoice page, and thereafter crashes whenever I open. Not usable. Reported issue, but not yet fixed after about 2 weeks. Switched from [Microsoft Excel](https://www.capterra.com/p/176574/Excel/) Too many mistakes using Excel. This simplifies my workflow quite a bit. You can update and change any items that might need it and you are able to add different options for "what" you are tracking time under. Pros I love that I can integrate my Harvest account and Trello. That way I don't have to have as many different tabs open at one time. I also like that it is easy to make any edit you might need to. I love the timer and how easy it is to keep an eye on project budgets! Cons We track everything that we do during the day in Harvest. December 30, 2018 5.0 Pros I don't review things often, but with Harvest, I had to - when you're looking for one specific thing, and you find exactly what you're looking for and its not ridiculously priced, that's a good day. The chrome extension that ties into GitHub so my team can just click a button and it link issues is fantastic. My favorite part about harvest is that it doesn't try to be everything. It does one thing, and it does it well and it doesn't kill your budget. It takes 5 minutes to set up projects and get running. Nicely done. Oh right, and a simple API that I can use for my own internal billing system. It's almost like thought went into this! Cons Eh, I can't think of any cons at the moment. It does what I needed. If I had some wishlist items, it'd probably be slack push notifications. Like when someone starts a timer, to be able to output that to Slack like: "Chris started working on \[project\] \[issue\]" .. and when a timer stops, push that to chat.. In our company we have created our own verbiage and this lets us create tasks just for us. It is so simple to create a new project. Cons Creating reports based on the work that was done for the day or for a total project can be a little tricky if you are not really good at computers. It would also be nice if on the mobile app you were reminded of a past time still running or if the project manager was notified by email that there is an employee with a timer still running. Pros I love the Business Intelligence/ Dashboard side of Harvest. It is so well organized and easy to get actionable data from all time tracked. Cons There really are no cons, as far as time tracking tools are concerned, harvest is the cream of the crop.
