The billing features are simple and time tracking is very easy. The software conveniently allows for more sorting and filtering of invoices that other programs I have used. Cons Harvest was great when our company had 3-5 employees and we were a band new start up. As we grew, our projects got bigger and more complex and our expenses grew. We tried to integrate Harvest with Quickbooks but the two softwares were hardly what I would call compatible and it made a huge mess. We are having to phase out Harvest now as it just doesn't offer the complex features we need as a growing company. May 28, 2019 5.0 For the solo user it is a very good time tracking and reporting solution. I highly recommend this for solo freelancer. Pros Fast workflow and easy to set up. I like this app as it helps me to get things done very quickly. When I am using a project the time is limited and things go wrong most of the time for me. This application helps me to see all my task and schedule according to them. The report helps me to see and change my work around the most effective time and take rest and give priority to my family. Pros There are three things I especially like about this software. First, with one exception (see below), the interface is very easy to use. I was up and running in moments. There are also concise, effective how-to videos available if you're not the "just jump in" type like me. Second, the value is exceptional. If you only work on 1-2 projects at a time, the software is free. it's a good value for the features. Third, the features are robust, especially the inclusion of invoicing. Cons There is one aspect of the interface that is annoying. Specifically, you cannot create a new task on the fly as you enter into a Time Sheet section. You have to enter Tasks separately, ahead of time in the Project section. It would be very helpful to be able to add new Tasks on the fly. It would also be nice if the Notes field allowed the insertion of bullet lists (though kudos for at least including Line Returns). Review Source Maria A. Pros It's simple and easy to use and edit. I love that I can set the timer on my iPhone app to track while I'm working. And I'm doing it fast. No more Word document invoices for me. Pros I can create and send an invoice in less than a minute using Harvest. Harvest also makes is easy to view reports of your invoice history, which is super helpful. Cons I have yet to find something that I don't like about Harvest. I has all the features that I need in an invoicing platform, and it's basically free. It's important for me to measure jobs based on time so that I can reflect on my overall workload and pricing structure. Pros Time tracking is super easy to incorporate into my daily work routine. There are also plenty of other features such as expense tracking that I am yet to try out, but I see great potential in. Cons The interface could be made smoother, and sometimes the app is slow to load. Harvest has a great software for this, but maybe too many 'bells and whistles' that ultimately you are paying for, whether you use them or not. Pros Harvest has a ton of functionality and features that you can utilize. Beyond time tracking and associated features, it also allows you accounting functionality and invoicing directly from the software. Cons Although there is an option to invoice from the software, I do not find it all that helpful since there is accounting software that is better suited for these accounting tasks. Also, the integrations are great! I use it connected with Asana and the Chrome Extension so its always easy for me to quickly track my time. Cons Some of the initial setup with creating clients and learning all f the features was confusing. While the product lacks a huge robust set of data-recording options for timekeeping - it makes up for it in ease of use and in benefit that this simple set of data can have on a company looking to optimize their operation and increase accountability. Pros Easy to use and even more so with a installed application on Windows, this tool lets you keep track of time and projects in a simple way that doesn't get in the way of getting your work done. Stay productive and get valuable metrics on how you spend your time with this product. Cons There are other time-keeping applications that have much more ability to keep tracks of metrics and other important data for how you spend your time. Harvest is for straightforward time-keeping and less aimed toward the more comples use-cases for keeping track. This works best in a project management environment. Review Source DB Daniel B. December 24, 2017 3.0 Pros The reporting visuals and dashboard are fantastic, letting you dig deep down into reviewing time tracking metrics for your team; also easy to track time according to your preference (on the fly or retrospectively). Cons We integrate Harvest with Trello and the way it brings in default categories/projects and tasks is frustrating (it's very easy to track time to the wrong project). Also many of our team members have struggled with getting the app to work properly (I couldn't). Finally, while Harvest is a good time tracking tool, it's not worth the price point, at the agency level anyway. It was easy to input the time and it added it all up easily for you for whatever time period you chose. Cons I was not an admin so I was not able to add and remove my own projects. Cons It can be hard to segment time by task within a project, and you can't segment it out by person. This can make it tough and manual to track time by person and task. So, for example, if we have 100 hours for an account and 10 hours for a design project, our designer needs to track her time externally to make sure she doesn't exceed the ten hours. As a project manager, I can see her time, but unless she's listed as a PM, she won't have this insight. May 20, 2019 4.0 Overall it is a very productive software, it helps you keep track of your time spent, easy to generate invoices, there are other options on the market but at the end we keep harvest for a long time. Pros I like the mobile version since I'm able to keep track of my work time and entered easy. Just start and stop the timer. Pros My favorite thing about this software is the ability to choose my categories for time to better see insights into where I spend my time. Cons My least favorite thing about this is that idle time isn't stopped after a certain amount of time. If it has been a certain amount of time where my computer has been inactive, I believe it should stop tracking.
