Before we were using two different platforms to track time and invoice. Pros The ease of use is what sold me. It allows me to check in on my team to make sure they're tracking their time appropriately. The two in one invoicing is the other feature that streamlines our process. Plus, the in-depth reporting really helps us understand how we're doing revenue-wise. Cons I wish there were a way to put a limit on time tracked in a particular task or project. This would stop some of the issues we have with going over budget. Or a way to see how many hours are left in a task without having to go into the project. This allows for ease of adding time with just a few clicks. Cons I wish that the detailed reports displayed time differently. When I track, I'm able to see it as HH:MM but the report displays it in decimal form of hours. i.e. 00:30 in my log but the report reflects 0.50 for 30 minutes. Software Developer Retail Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Best timesheet app and more" September 29, 2018 4.0 Pros I use this app mostly for timesheet management, I'm a user and really appreciate my employer's (freelancing buddy) decision to use this tool, actually, new team members join and leave us as the project goes, it was really cumbersome to manage excel sheets and pay them, but harvest timesheet helps me to keep keen eye on time estimates and make monthly payments. +1 for their android app. Cons Price, I found it a little bit costly, fee tier is very limited, one has to pay if you want to use this tool. Pros It is easy to create an account, the free trial is really free and no pressure when you set up your account initially. It is also easy to scale with your team. Cons It is one of the more pricey options for time keeping out there. If you only use it to track time on projects and a few clients, there might be cheaper options available. Harvest is the best match for our requirements. It's really easy to manage the time of our team members. Cons This is our first month that we are using this tool and didn't see any cons so far, so cannot say but we are happy with what we got. August 3, 2019 5.0 Pros My company recently started with time tracking, and as an engineer I simply have to track my time as operational expense or capital expense. In Harvest, these are implemented as "projects." When I fill out my time, I just am presented with two rows for the week, and I input my hours. That's it. There is also a way to track time with a timer, but it's much easier to manually input. Cons Since I only care about putting in my numbers, there is nothing I dislike about the product itself. It integrates so well with other software and provides an accurate and simple reading of the hours worked each day, week or month. Pros I love how this product integrates with Asana. I constantly have Asana open and know that I can always go into any task and start logging my time. But it also allows manual editing should I forget to log my minutes Cons Non just yet. I have always had a problem with estimating how long a project will take and using Harvest has helped me streamline estimates a lot better. It also has a neat feature that detects when you've been away from your desk and lets you subtract that time. For example, get up for a break, forget to hit pause — Harvest detects that time for you and allows you to subtract the break minutes from your billable hours. Cons There's really nothing negative from my experience with Harvest so far. It's easy to use and I'm sure it has more features than what I've been using it for, which has primarily been for tracking billable time. Review Source dB darra B. I also use their software to invoice and keep track of project budgets. A must have for any career that relies on keeping track of time! Cons Some editing capabilities (project, client) can be difficult to find. Invoices and client facing reports have limits on customization (I can’t use my business’s font for example). Cons Sometimes I completely forget to submit the week for approval. Pros Harvest is an incredible piece of software for a freelancer. It allows you to seamlessly send bids, create invoices, and track time very accurately from a macOS menubar app and a handy iOS app. It just works. All of the time. Cons Harvest is slow to evolve the UI controls in the app. This means certain areas feel outdated. However, none of that really matters. Pros The desktop app made it for me - being able to toggle the timer on my menu bar without having to change windows between multiple projects is fantastic. The ability to customize and categorize how you see fit is great Cons Some features are slightly less intuitive - needing to right-click to edit an entry in the app, for example. Subliminally, it also helps to keep me focused and on task because I know that it is being tracked Pros I'm able to log in my hours and describe what I have been working on so I don't have to worry about writing it down anywhere. It is extremely easy to use even for nontechnical people they really tried to make the product simple and useful. Pros Super easy to use, not trying to complicate it with too many bells and whistles. Love how it easily translates to invoicing too. Cons Few drawbacks. My only issues are how it integrates with Forecast (their other tool). Doesn't seem to offer much sharable data outside of the team members + project names.
