Its streamlined our workflow, allowing us to work on more projects efficiently and operate more closely to our budgetary goals. Pros Usability is king. We've tried so many other apps. They all look like they're from 1999. Harvest is the tool your employees will actually use. You can track time from anywhere. Web, desktop, or mobile device. Expenses can be tracked as well. Once the time is entered into the system, the reports in harvest are visual and actionable. You can create any type of report in Harvest, splicing the time data in the way you need it. Invoicing is also included. As well as 50+ integrations with project management apps like Basecamp and accounting apps like Quickbooks and Xero. They are constantly adding new features and these are updated automatically. No need to install, upgrade, or maintain a homegrown solution in house. And so much better than Excel. The app allows me to enter from wherever I am and I can snap a photo of the receipt on the spot. Cons I would like if my monthly expenses that I have every month could be added automatically. Pros As a member of a team using Harvest, it was just minutes before I was completely set up and ready to track my time. There is not complicated account management. Just a simple way to choose a project and start the timer. Cons It's minimalism has it feeling a little under-designed. I think the user interface could be developed further. These three functionalities make it so much simpler to keep track of my personal time, keep up dated on where my time is being spent and ensuring all invoices are being paid on time. I was able to tailor the invoices to include exactly what we were looking for and it's simple to adjust preferences at any time based on the client. This is a time saver for me personally by not having to manually track my time on Excel as I was doing before this program. It also sends the timecard to my manager directly from Harvest by simply pressing "submit weekly timecard" Cons In using these 3 features, I haven't run into any issues. It was simple to self-teach and the program has run smoothly for me since I've been using it the last several months. Pros The backend is super slick and extremely easy to navigate. It's quite robust too, so as you grow Harvest is extremely well positioned to grow with you. The ability to track hours for projects or tasks is extremely helpful for those non-total-project invoices. Cons I can't say that I have a real con. I wish it was a little bit easier to switch between client 'account views' you're created, but that's about it. The workflow, from billable hours to invoice to recording payment to reports is an easy way to ensure your team is getting paid, but companies who expect growth will very quickly find Harvest lacking. Cons I still find it fairly time consuming to track everything on a monthly basis. It's one of my least favorite parts of my job. Pros \- Integration with Asana (includes the Asana link for the task being tracked) - Free option (up to 2 projects at a time) - Downloadable report - Ease of use - Time tracking - Time tracking is also editable, which is great and convenient at times - Start and end dates for projects Cons \- Free option only allows up to 2 projects at a time, enough for most people depending on how your tasks/projects are organized, but it'd be nice if it was 3 or 4 starting out. - Sometimes it'd be nice to be able to reorder tasks in the time tracking section. - If you start and then stop time tracking for a task in Asana, when you start again later, it adds it as a new time record instead of continuing from the previous time record.
