This amazing software helped us a lot with time tracking. Another good thing is the integration with Xero. Cons No cons that should be mentioned here. So easy to implement, understand and use. Pros I picked this software up very easily. User interface is very intuitive, I immediately was able to add clients and projects without even needing the available training modules. Cons When I’m looking at hours for a project, I moved some hours to another task — getting back to the main task again took too many clicks. Pros Harvest is an excellent tool for individuals and/or small organizations that need help with invoicing, expensing, and management needs such as team scheduling. Integrates easily with many other business apps. Cons Harvest is only available as a web app version. There are currently no windows supported desktop versions. This was really useful when we would have workers on a few different sites throughout the day. Especially when we need to know how much time was going to be added to an extra work order. Cons It didn't integrate with our accounting software too well and we had to enter all of the time cards by hand. But that's the only negative I think we've ever had. Review Source DN David N. Previously I tracked my time on an Excel spreadsheet, then transfered the information to an invoicing system in another app. Now I can do both via Harvest instead of using multiple apps. It's also easy to use. Pros Not only can you track your time for freelance projects and clients, but Harvest also has its own invoicing system so you can easily convert your billable hours to an invoice for the client, rather than using a separate invoicing system. Cons The pricing for an individual is really reasonable. It can add up once you go beyond two people, but for many organizations it is still probably worth it. Cons We have occasionally found it to be TOO simple, and we are sometimes frustrated by timesheet approval emails being sent to seemingly random members of our team (we are unsure if this is a problem outside of our company). Pros Harvest integrates amazingly with a bunch of the other programs I use regularly. The time tracking is really precise and you can easily differentiate between how much resources each task requires . Cons The interface has an outdated feel to it and can definitely benefit from cosmetic changes . Even with the necessary admin permissions it can be hard to track other people's work . It responds quickly and has a simple and easy to use interface. It also includes a built in stopwatch that can be used to keep track of time while working on a task. It does require a Chrome plugin be installed to integrate into Basecamp but this seems to be a limitation of Basecamp and not Harvest. Pros The interface is quick and easy to use for most common actions and it fits well into Basecamps interface. Cons Not being able to edit time within Basecamp if the todo is closed. Pros The best part about harvest is that it's really objective. I use it only for time tracking and I really appreciate that it isn't bloated with shenanigans. Cons As a Opera user, I miss the integration with Basecamp which doesn't work on it. Neither do the app with the Basecamp app, so, I have to time track manually my Basecamp to-dos. Pros Harvest is an attractive system to use. After using several time logging programs during several different jobs, harvest is the most user-friendly. Coming from a design background, the interface is the most pleasing and the buttons you need the most are the most convenient. Pros The idea: that it would track my time easily so I wouldn't have to, and also crate invoices. Unfortunately...it just didn't pan out. Cons I couldn't manually track my time and add it to a project, then send an invoice independently of that time. I work off fixed project costs, like to manually enter time (not start a stopwatch), so I can track for my own use. Nothing was straightforward or easy on Harvest. The interface was really clunky, too.
