It helps them calculate and remit their sales tax in a timely and accurate manner. I have multiple clients that use this software for sales tax and lodging tax and they love it! A good mix of fun and education. With Avalara, I can be confident that jurisdictional tax rates are up-to-date and correct. Adds a peace of mind to a complex sales tax world. Cons The update for the filing forms is a little slow. I manually upload information from our brick and mortar software and usually have to wait overnight until I can see the final monthly filing for Washington. Onboarding team and customer service take at least a week to get back to you on anything. We have had their "service" for 4+ months without being able to actually use it. Financial Director Consumer Goods Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "A feature rich sales tax solution" June 7, 2021 4.0 is a very good product, however I personally feel that TaxJar is a better solution in most cases. Avalara's integration is fairly difficult to set up, and in one instance turned out to be impossible to set up ! Pros is the go-to solution for sales tax tracking. It has a very high level of functionality, and boast many many features. Perhaps too many, see below. Cons We found to be complex to use, integrate and implement. To the extent that we were unable to complete integration with certain platforms and ended up using TaxJar instead. Cons easier to look up a tax code for specific item and updated state sales tax rates. Our company use Workday, we had trouble integrating and Workday, but things are better now. October 25, 2018 1.0 This has to be the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I cannot believe the lack of communication and lack of follow up they have. Dealing with peoples taxes is a very serious business and they are one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with. I would never use this company ever again. Pros Absolutely nothing.
