### "Great software for all kinds of financial statement reports"

August 4, 2023

4.0

This system facilitates the entry of invoices and the administration of team expenditures. We required an agency-wide application because of the variety of our activities. Our team has found Sage to be straightforward to learn and use, particularly for invoice entry and approval procedures.

Pros

's collaborative features are a big plus for me. The primary navigational ribbon located at the system's top makes clicking through to explore further a breeze. Receipt of revenue can be easily recorded, as can the complicated intercompany receivables that go along with them.

Cons

The difficulty certain managers and approvers have in searching for specific data is currently my main complaint, but I'm confident that this can be fixed with some fine-tuning.

Clients are very accessible. Easy to use menus for making new clients, products, and bills. And I had no trouble obtaining the required reports. Intacct simplified things for me, if I may say so.

### "Best decision"

March 23, 2026

4.0

Overall I'm very happy with it. It have improved our reports. We now can see how each department is doing rather just viewing financials for the entire entity.

Pros

I really enjoy the grant management portion of the product. It has helped our organization greatly with not having to keep track of grant spending manually.

Cons

The budget module was a bit hard to figure out my first time. I feel there are too many steps to a lot of the features.

### "HONEST SAGE REVEIW\_NEW USER"

April 22, 2026

3.0

It is okay, there are a lot of benefits to using but i also find that there a few things that needs looking into to make this user friendly.

Pros

Easy VAT reporting, Smart rules have been a game changer for us! Also like the fact that we can pull consolidated reports on our different entities.

Cons

Debtors/creditors age analysis report is set on days not months ... probably the most frustrating part. Cannot process a refund on a supplier/customer... silly !

### "Pretty Good But Pretty Frustrating"

January 16, 2026

3.0

Overall I'd say that overall it's fine. I do feel like trying to find information in Sage is very frustrating and time consuming. Hopefully as I get more used to the system I'll get more comfortable with how to find data, but for the most part I feel like it is not as intuitive as it could be.

Pros

I like that Sage has good integrations. Additionally the Sage University and amount of available trainings are very helpful.

Cons

I feel like getting data out of Sage can be very difficult and cumbersome. I feel like I'm constantly running reports trying to find what boxes I need to check to get the right data out of the system. For example, I previously worked with Business Central and my main starting point for finding GL data was the Chart of Accounts where I could see balances as of "right now". From there I could click on the balance and drill down into the GL data and filter by dates and date ranges to quickly see what data I was looking at. I could then click on "Find Entries" to drill down even further. In Sage I can't even see what a GL balance is without running a Trial Balance. Additionally, I have to make sure I run the TB for a wide enough date range so that if I have to hunt for a transaction I can make sure its in there, otherwise I'll have to go back and adjust the parameters. Then once the GL data is displayed, I'm not able to sort it in any way (largest to smallest, etc.). The only way to sort the data is by exporting it to excel, sorting it, finding your transactions, then going back into Sage and hunting for it manually again. Additionally, when Sage opens things in a separate "popup" window, it only allows me to have 1 "popup" window open at a time. If I'm looking at a transaction in a popup then I click on something else that requires a popup, the first popup is overridden by the second one. This makes searching for transactions and trying to follow what happened in the system very difficult because I'm not able to view all the info I need to at once. Additionally, it feels like I'm not able to customize reports to provide all the information I need in one place. For example, if I'm trying to understand the value of invoices sent out in a certain date range by location, I can't just run the "AR ledger" report. In order to get the Location ID of my AR data, I have to run an "Invoice Analysis" report, which has multiple lines per invoice (to show the individual line items on every invoice), export that detail, then create a pivot table by location. Maybe this can be solved through a custom report, but those aren't intuitive either. It gets very frustrating when I know the information is in the system but I can't customize the columns in reports to show the date in the most useful way, I have to jump through hoops to get what I need.

Pros

Technical and highly customizable. Easy to use once it's functional with you needs! I would reccomend Lucentive as your implementation specialist.

I have found Sage to be wonderful. Each Sage representative I have had the opportunity to works with has been very helpful. They go out of their way to give direction or offer suggestions. I recommend to everyone.

Pros

It is easy to navigate and pull/report information I particularly appreciate the ability to use and report on User Defined Dimensions. This has made a significant difference in our abillity to "slice & dice"

Cons

### "Sage for Non-Profits"

April 21, 2026

Sage Intaact remains a useful tool for nonprofits. Should they fix their error reporting issues and a few more anomalies it will continue to be a good product.

Pros

Sale is a powerful tool for Nonprofits. It allows multiple opportunities to record and report specific Grants. Ease of use

Cons

During file imports when the import has an issue, the File import error messages are pitiful. They provide no real assistance in resolving the import issue. Pricing is significantly higher than other similar products and seems excessive

My overall experience with Sage is amazing. I feel like the cost benefit for it is exceptional due to the time saved and level of organization we can have.

Pros

What I liked most about moving over to Sage was how fast and simple it is to learn a new UI. The course that is offered is very insightful and helped my team learn quickly.

Cons

What I liked least about was how hard it is to go back and undo mistakes. It seems like if one mistake snowballs into other mistakes, you have to go back and fix everything it effected, rather than fixing the original mistake.

### "Powerful and Scalable Financial System That Delivers"

March 23, 2026

4.0

Our overall experience with has been very positive. It provides a strong financial infrastructure with the flexibility and depth needed to support a growing organization. The system has significantly improved our reporting capabilities and internal visibility, which has been valuable for both management and audit purposes. While implementation and onboarding require some upfront effort, the long-term benefits outweigh the initial investment. In terms of value for money, Sage Intacct delivers a high-quality solution that scales well as organizational needs evolve.

Pros

is a robust and highly scalable financial system that works especially well for multi-entity and nonprofit organizations. The dimensional reporting is a standout feature, allowing for detailed insights across programs, locations, and funding sources without overcomplicating the chart of accounts. Reporting is flexible and audit-friendly, and the system integrates well with other tools. Overall, it provides strong controls and visibility for finance teams.

Cons

4.0

is a strong fit for nonprofits that need transparency, compliance, and multi-dimensional financial insight. It provides clear visibility into programs, grants, and funding sources, which helps organizations make data-driven decisions and meet reporting requirements with confidence. While the setup and training require an upfront investment, the long-term benefits—streamlined audits, reduced manual work, and stronger financial oversight—make it a valuable solution for mission-driven organizations looking to scale their impact.

Pros

Accessible from anywhere, with strong role-based permissions and the ability to grow with the organization. Smooth connections with systems like Salesforce, bill-pay platforms, and budgeting tools. Real-time access, clear audit trails, and solid internal controls make audits smoother and reduce manual reconciliations. Customizable dashboards give executives and program managers clear visibility into budgets, spending, and outcomes.

Cons

The system is powerful, but navigation and setup can feel complex for new users. Some advanced reports or workflows require help from consultants or Intacct partners.

I really like . The implementation was pretty easy, the various input screens within the applications are similar, so training is easier, the many dimensions and customization helps us with tracking and reporting.

Pros

I like Intacct’s automations, as they help us keep our accounting team lean and efficient. I like all the dimensions that help us track grants and other funding sources. I have found the system to be very intuitive.

Cons

### "Intacct Review"

November 24, 2025

4.0

Overall, my experience with has been excellent. We previously used Sage 50, so moving to a cloud-based system gave us real-time visibility and much better reporting capabilities. After implementing automation, we eliminated a lot of repetitive tasks in AP/AR and month-end, which significantly improved accuracy and turnaround time. The combination of a more modern platform plus automated workflows really streamlined our financial processes.

Pros

It made accounting reporting feel easy. The visibility and automation were the biggest wins. Importing bank files during bank reconciliation has improved that process significantly. The automation has also been extremely helpful.

Cons

The only challenge we experienced was around integrations. doesn’t connect directly to our bank, and syncing with Concur came with added fees. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it did add some extra steps.

### "Sage Intacct - Powerful Financials, But Know the Limits"

November 24, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Sage is amazing and game-changer. Some of their features of invoice management and payment processing is game changer knowing how easy the interface is and how easily you can navigate around the system. Also, if there is issues or concerns regarding the system, their customer support is usually very helpful.

Pros

The interface is clean, logical for accountants and easier for finance teams to adopt without a steep learning curve. Love it for its effortless consolidation feature.

Cons

The per user licensing fee and cost of add on modules (E.g.: Project Accounting, Advanced Inventory) add up quickly. For very small businesses or those with simple, single-entity operations, the price tag may be hard to justify as they wouldn't be leveraging its powerful features.

### "Solid Core Accounting Software but Lacking In-house Cutting Edge Tech"

July 8, 2025

4.0

Intacct houses our ledger, reporting, AR, project/contract, purchase order, and other accounting processes, but for many of our transaction-bulkier processes (AP & payroll primarily) we use 3rd party applications, some of which (Stampli for AP & bill payment, for example) integrate with Intacct seamlessly, and some of which we import data from via Excel exports (Paylocity for payroll, Center for credit cards). Overall this works well and we like the 3rd party projects we use, but it is unfortunate that Intacct is so inferior in these areas that you have to use 3rd parties if you want to have the latest technology for streamlining these processes. That being said, Intacct does a good job with the core accounting functions of housing the ledger, offering all the modules you might need (even if you have to just import data into them or sync 3rd party applications with them), and providing extensive reporting capabilities and internal controls.

Pros

has a wide range of capabilities and scalability, both in terms of the accounting functions it offers as well as the custom reporting, custom dimensions, etc.

Cons

Intacct itself is technologically behind a lot of specialized software; i.e. for payroll, fixed assets, AP, etc. So although you can get Intacct modules for some of these functions added into your Intacct program, they are not as good as 3rd party applications. Thankfully, there are many that integrate well with Intacct.

### "Biggest and Best Bang for the Buck"

July 14, 2025

5.0

I have used Sage and it's predecessors professionally and personally for over 40 years. It is affordable, relatively easy to use once you understand it and it's got a lot of options as to size, cost and accessibility for a variety of applications.

Pros

I like the audit trail. One of the negative comments was that "You can't go back and change the numbers." GOOD. As a professional Accountant and Tax representative, being able to just change the numbers without a proper journal entry reversing the error and putting it in correctly causes significant transactional tracking problems. I use and recommend Sage products for my clients and that detailed audit trail is critical in locating and correcting problems and explaining things during an audit. NEVER change that!

Cons

I don't like that your sales department doesn't fully understand the product nor do they know anything about bookkeeping. So I can't just send my clients directly to you. I have to call, find out which product is best and then have my client buy it. I have one client that spent $60k on a software she didn't need because a Sage representative told her your software couldn't do what she needed when I know for a fact that it CAN! Your salesperson simply didn't understand the full capabilities of the software and how to use it. That's not good.

### "Account Support lacking"

January 16, 2026

Extremely poor

Pros

Full functioning software. Nothing more.

Cons

The selling process and account management. The people that see, manage and handle accounts on a day-to-day basis are not accounting or technical people. But they hold the keys to everything. Cost is becoming unreasonable from initial start of contract. Despite discussions about this, the account manager continues to try and get more money. Despite hours left on contract, I was required to sign a new agreement committing to additional cost. Software is good. The account management and customer experience is terrible for a company below $20M.

### "Great Accounting System"

July 14, 2025

5.0

Pros

is a game-changer for organizations looking for a cloud-based accounting solution that scales with them. One of the most praised aspects is its robust reporting and dashboard capabilities. The ability to build custom reports and real-time dashboards without relying on IT support is a huge win for finance teams.

Cons

Learning the system is overwhelming at first. While powerful, the interface and navigation can take time to learn, especially for someone without prior experience in mid-market accounting software. Customizations are also very complex.

### "Mediocre Product, Clunky and hard to use"

November 18, 2025

3.0

We've had a tough time with our account manager during renewals. Each team member has also had a tough time learning the system.

Pros

More cost effective than Netsuite by about 50%. It integrates fairly well with the rest of our platforms.

Cons

The platform is quite clunky and hard to use. Our whole time had a pretty steep learning curve trying to figure out how to use it. Our account manager has also been terrible - screwing up our renewals.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Sage Intacct

It was significantly cheaper than Netsuite.

January 21, 2026

5.0

Overall experience is Very positive. is the best accounting software platform I have ever used!

Pros

What I like most about sage Its flexibility and ease of use for our accounting function. Intacct colaborate and the ability to upload source documents into transactions allows us to operate paper free.

Cons

One of my employees has an issue where the functionality of Sage Collaborate stopped working and it has been almost a month with no resolution.
