When I found Wild Apricot, I didn't know anything about building websites and I was able to easily teach myself with the help of their site, tutorials and information. I can now design websites that look extremely professional in very little time complete with videos, slide shows, merchant account, etc... I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with Wild Apricot and would recommend this product to anyone. Since I have learned the product, I was able to quit my job as an Executive Assistant and start my own business designing reasonably priced websites for non-profits and other businesses. July 13, 2018 4.0 MailChimp has superior open/ click analytics and easier and more flexible settings to create marketing emails. Pros Ability to manage many events at one time. Ease of sending, reminding and reconciling emails. .... Cons If you register for a webinar, be prepared to be inundated with emails! I block one and receive another. Immediately after sending feedback about this, i was hit with 3 emails in a row! Leaves a very bad taste and i won't be recommending anymore. Very difficult to set-up and navigate. Obituary coordinator Used the software for: ### "ASURA Wild Apricot" August 18, 2013 5.0 Sometimes after I log on to Wild Apricot the first screen I see is the Dashboard. I click on Public View which takes me to the ASURA Membership & Events screen where I click on Maintenance and select Deceased from the pulldown menu. Then I click on Switch to Admin View, then Contacts and proceed from there. However, other times when I log on the first screen I see is ASURA Membership & Events screen then I click on Maintenance and select Deceased then Switch to Admin View then I click on Public View which takes me back to ASURA Membership & Events screen where I click on Maintenance then Deceased and proceed from there. Why do I sometimes see the Dashboard screen first and other times the ASURA Membership & Events screen. It's more efficient to see the Dashboard screen first. Thank you for the tip to make a single spaced line by using Shift/Enter. I really don't know what comments I made about any difficulty including pictures. Whatever they were, forget them. Wild Apricot seems to do that with many practical functions and great configurability - the latter being a key point. We configure to our needs, not the other way around. I'm not a software guru but I've managed to muddle thru to produce a pretty good solution for our club that it is a real positive step forward. The odd time I've requested help it was forthcoming and tutorials seem to work. Now it's just a case of easing it in.... I have been the webmaster for DATES (Dallas Area Tandem Enthusiasts) since 2001. During that time we have used 4 web hosting sites including Wild Apricot. Hands down, Wild Apricot has been the superior web hosting site for our club. Moving to Wild Apricot has made my job much easier. Another cycling club in the DFW area moved to Wild Apricot based on what they saw with our website. Pros Ease of use, administration and management. Cons Can't think of anything at this time. The automated emails, and targeted emails have eased our administrative burden. The blogs, events, join us, and membership pages are already set up in template form, that you can easily customize to represent your organization. No HTML coding is needed, but you can use code if you'd like to. The checkout system is very easy to integrate with your card payment system with I wide variety of supported vendors. There was no WordPress membership site available when we created our site and WA was one of the only membership sites available. I was hesitant to try Wild Apricot at first as I prefer to have my own data with me locally, however the web presence allows members and committee officials to undertake their duties on the site. Feel free to visit www.duttoncycles.org.au to see what we have done with little technical knowledge. Highly recommended and I am sure that more features will be added as the product matures. We also have an annual conference that we were managing manually. Our tech team did a lot of research, and we elected to try Wild Apricot. We haven't looked back - it is fantastic, AND their support website is excellent. Readable, makes sense, shows screen captures with added arrows etc. And they actually respond to emails. All-in-all they understand what their users want and need. The only thing missing in our estimation is an eStore, and for now we have found another solution for that, and we just link to it. Owner Used the software for: ### "Clumsy software, limited emailing resources" December 6, 2014 3.0 We joined Wild Apricot mainly to manage attendance to an annual conference and for this purpose it worked great. We also try and use it for sending emails to the membership collected from the conference and have found the member management very clumsy at best. It's difficult (read: impossible) to manage groups and make edits to multiple members at the same time. Everything is one by one. The layouts for the emails aren't very professional looking and adding your own styles is far from easy. Even when applied, the defaults overwrite the preferences that you have set into a template. You cannot schedule an email to go out to members but instead have to hit "SEND" to initiate the delivery. Then there is no "save" button when editing a mailing. SAVE and CLOSE is the closest thing. Wild Apricot seems to satisfy many users that need a plug and play website and managing events, but keeping in touch with members in a highly polished manner is far from simple. Standard login/password features are included and do not need any maintenance. Web page maintenance is easy. Pros Sending emails to all members is easy, simple and quick. Keeping track of membership payments and donations is simple. Cons Would like to set up Paypal payments from a personal Paypal account. Both had pros and cons and all were fairly expensive. Then we found Wild ApricotWhat A Joy!! Pros Although Wild Apricot has some limitations, there always seems to be a work around and the support is FANTASTIC! And they actually speak the version of English that I understand so communication is very easy and I am almost always able to get through to a real live support person. They also are constantly working to make this a more feature rich and robust program with no need to purchase the newest release and with no increase in fee. Cons I am used to Dreamweaver so the WYSIWYG editor has some limitations but, they are adding new features on each update Review Source Darren G. It integrated well with the web portal we set up and enabled us to communicate well with our volunteers. Cons Tricky to get started with and not for the novice user. We don't have to have as many applications or services with Wild Apricot, since they provide many, like the membership management and event registration. Pros Provides many services. Website creator is relatively easy to use and looks nice. Event registration works well for us. Cons A few things have been slightly confusing, we've had a little trouble with some of the registration types. And in the website editor, I can't get embedded videos to center onto the page. Owner Information Technology and Services Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Cumbersome; Dated Looking" October 22, 2019 3.0 Appreciated the free trial, but the clunky and cumbersome interface was not appreciated by a single staff member, and more importantly, the property manager of the HOA for whom we were setting up the site, and to whom we'd hand over day to day management. Pros Price for managing HOA communities was a little better than some of my other options. Cons Very clunky interface, cumbersome and dated looking. I felt like I was using decade-old software, like FrontPage. Remote area means we don't have as high speed internet speeds as we'd like, and this dramatically affected using Wild Apricot. The clunky interface was made worse on slow-speed days, whereas other programs were not affected at all. Reason for choosing WildApricot I didn't. Pros This puts all of your organizational tasks in one platform to save you lots of time. This has saved us a lot of time. Cons The pricing tiers jumped quite a bit for the non-profit organization that has just above 2,000 members. It would be nice if there was another tier before 5,000. Secretary Used the software for: ### "Good Club Software" January 11, 2017 4.0 North County Newcomers of San Luis Obispo, a club of 210 members, has been using Wild Apricot for 3 years and it haS proven to be a great tool for the club. The automated systems make keeping records easy and also easy to retrieve when necessary. It has kept us from having to keep records on paper in binders that just keep getting larger and larger. It has been a great way to upgrade our record keeping and prevent errors in the records for the club. The club has started to accept payments for events via Wild Apricot using Pay Pal or credit cards. This has proven to a great thing for our reservation chair as they do not have to collect money and it makes registration at events so much smoother and faster. We would recommend it to any club as a great system to manage the club.
