Our small Society (140 members) found Wild Apricot to be very good value. We had the main outline of our website up and running in a few hours. Over the next day or so, we readily figured out how to provide to the Public, all of the essentials about our Society. FAQ type assistance is very complete and anticipates almost every question. Particularly powerful for us, has been the way the site maintains our Membership List. Our Membership Secretary loves it! It is wonderful at sending out reminders to renew. It is also very good at sending out notices for events, and keeping track of who's coming, who's paid etc. I am not particularly web savvy, yet have been able to work through most things with the help of the online assistance. It works well for us from both Mac and PC platforms. Suggest giving it a free trial as we did. Chances are, you'll like it too and stick with it.

Pros

The website management, membership management, events, and email sending are seamless, so logins, directories, members areas and events are taken care of without exporting or re-keying. Also caters for associations where one membership covers multiple people - and the main contact can self-maintain the others. Caters for UK currency and tax (but not multi-currency). Support is excellent.

Cons

All contacts on the database have to have a unique email address. Printing labels or badges involves exporting to Excel and mail merge.

I am the webmaster for a non-profit in Alabama and we have used Wild Apricot for three years now. We have been very pleased with the quality, performance, features and functionality and ease of use. We are 100% digital and converted all hard copy documents to the website. I particularly like Wild Apricot's customer service. Anytime I get stuck on a particular design element, I am able to reach out to them for assistance. I get a response usually within the hour, but no more than 24 hours later, and it is usually resolved in the first response. I have only had one instance where it took several emails to resolve the complex issue. From an ease-of-use perspective, I haven't had to train any of the other board members on how to use the site. They all have administrative rights and although none of them are technical, all found it to be intuitive and user-friendly.

It allows us to have all the things we need - website, membership management, events, & online payments in one place rather than having several different programs. It took a little longer to set up than I had hoped - as I was trying to do it along with my full-time Executive Director job at my own nonprofit, but now that it is set up, each committee chair can easily take over their specialty functions (membership, events, etc.) and administer that area of the site. I would have paid to have someone set it up for me though!! Not that it is difficult but it takes TIME that I don't always have to spare.

Improve web page load and edit functionality. Often takes excess time editing and creating new pages because font will not change, colors lock and will not change, alignment will not let you change etc. Seems to have the same problem whether you use firefox or IE. This may be my problem though, not the program. Overall it is a great program!

Pros

Handles membership data very well.

Cons

Limited to membership focus, which I suppose is the real point of the program, but expansion to better forum capability with "moderator", shopping cart for non membership sales and classified ad's would be great. The ability for members to select pay pal or credit card would also be very nice. PayPal gets a little tiresome and may members refuse to use it!

It's easy to use, a beautiful interface, and saves a lot of time. They have wonderful customer service as well.

Cons

It could be more intuitive because it takes a little time to learn and I think it could be more user-friendly but once you get to know it is relatively easy!

Wild Apricot has made the administration tasks for our organization so much easier! We have only 1 full-time paid staff member, so a lot of her time was spent manually tracking renewals and event registrations, sending reminders, processing payments or digging up the latest membership numbers or other statistics for reports to our Board. Wild Apricot has automated most of those tasks and greatly simplified the rest, and has also made tracking information on our membership so much easier. We tried out several different options, and while Wild Apricot didn't necessarily have all of the extra features of the others, it had exactly what we needed for the best price and was the easiest product to use. Their support has also been fantastic. I would happily recommend Wild Apricot to anyone who is looking at membership management software.

Pros

Nothing. This is an expensive membership management software and we subscribed to it hoping that we would streamline our member on boarding and management. Initially when we started using Wild Apricot we could use our own PayPal account for billing. Canceled it after getting an email that we would have to pay 20% extra fees of our billing plan to keep using our PayPal account or move to Wild Apricot payment.

Cons

Customer service scheduled a call five days after we initiated the request, then 10 minutes before the call canceled it saying that we would need tech support and should send an email.

Although we are a small group using the free option of Wild Apricot the response from the support team is quick, less than 24 hours for online support, and in my experience they have always taken the time to explain the reasons for the problem and how to use workarounds if a fix is not immediately available. The software is easy to use with good support documentation. New features can be a little slow in delivery at times but this is improving following a period where I understand the code base is being rationalised. The free option allows very small groups to get an online solution for managing events and membership. On the downside once you exceed the contact limit and need to upgrade its can be an expensive option for groups in the 50 to 200 member range where more cost effective options might be better.

Wild Apricot is an exceptional service and their technical support (which is free) is excellent. They are very responsive to suggestions and constantly improving -- I have no hesitation in recommending Wild Apricot.

Pros

\- One place for all of your data. - The "self-service" approach to membership management reduces the administrative burden of any group. - Excellent customer service. I have created 11 web sites using Wild Apricot with many different requirements -- Wild Apricot fit the bill in all cases! In the time that I have been using this service I have found them to be very responsive to suggestions and constantly improving the service.

Cons

None that I can think of.

We have had companies run our website and have ran our own several different ways but since having it on Wild Apricot for over 1 1/2 years our members really enjoy all the bells and wistles we can offer them.

Pros

Very easy to set up and use. Really makes your website, emails and events look extremly professional. Great why to organize many membership levels and keep in contact with them. Customer support is unbelievable for the small fee structure. Being able to run our website internally with mulitple people have different levels of access is a big plus!

Cons

Slighltly limiting in web page layout being a WYSIWYG program but they are constantly updating and improving the program.

I have used your program for quite a few years now and have never been disappointed in your product. And your service....well, it deserves more than 5 stars...but that all that was on your survey....hahaha! You have a terrific product that has made our association more productive, saving us many many many hours. And saving those hours, we put to better use, like growing our association, helping our members, etc! Every single person that works at Apricot is totally committed to helping their customers. They reply within minutes most of the time with exactly what I need to know.....and I absolutely love their sense of humour and each one has a special Apricot Title.....that makes them part of the big delicious Apricot Tree!! I have implemented WA in three different organisations (two sport clubs and a network organisation) which I am involved in and in all three cases it has delivered. If you work together with different people that have different it skill levels the importance is that things are kept simple. WA has produced a system that is easy to use but still offers a lot functionality to communicate with a large group of people effectively. WA combines website content management, email communication and membership management very well. It is easy to setup and the levels of customisation means you can create a basic website in minutes or create a website which is completely in your own look and feel. Areas of improvement are interaction with other systems (SSO) and communication through SMS text messaging.
