Pros: + Easy to use software with an easy learning curve
+ Fast software
+ Comprehensive because a lot of things can be created by the software

Cons: The biggest problem I have with the software is that after an update all individual projects need to be updated and uploaded. I understand that this is necessary. However, there is no option for batch conversion. This feature lacking is quite time consuming and inefficient.

Pros: It allows me to elaborate didactic material for web pages and cell phones without needing to have a great knowledge in programming. It also has beautiful designs and good exam options.

Cons: I would like to have more predictive options for the variables since it is difficult for me to program a bit.

Overall:
In comparison with other software, this allows me to develop much faster and better quality didactic material. It also has integrated functions such as adding videos, tests and interactions.

Pros: The content library has characters, graphics, and templates. The templates are beautiful, professional, and fantastic. Anyone can look instantly like a pro at authoring interactive content.

Cons: The software itself can be a heavy load on the system; saving can take a while, and when users play an asset created by Sotryline, if they have an old computer, it can be a heavy load. We have had issues with people unable to complete the 'drag'n'drop' interactions due to computer resource issues.

Overall: A rich, interactive learning experience for my users!

Pros: There is really no other software for publishing e-learning that is as easy to use and has the best non-programmer customization as Articulate Storyline. I absolutely love what you can do with it and how it can be used in many, many ways.

Cons: I absolutely hate three things about Articulate Storyline. I hate the enormous cost. I hate the way they handle their customer support and the way they deal with their own product development. If the product didn't cost as much as it does, then these other issues would not be so terrible, but because we pay so much for it, there really should be excellent customer support and excellent product development.

Overall: Since I do a lot of e-learning and all of it is on Articulate Storyline, it is a must but it has serious deficiencies and that is compounded by the fact that the customer service is utterly deceptive. If you need an e-learning tool, this is the best one even though it costs as much as it does. It is worth it. However, you need to be ready to understand a few things quickly. One thing you will learn is that they offer a discussion board and they have staff who are there to patrol and respond and help users, but it is not a help desk. When it comes to asking why something doesn't work, you will be told much of the time that it is working as designed but if it isn't quite right that you should submit a feature request and they don't do that for you as they should if they cared about the direction of the software. You should also know that there are many things about the product design that simply make no sense to anyone but the designers. They focus more on new features rather than fixing persistent problems that users continually complain about.

Pros: Creating e-learning courses with Articulate storyline is something really easy to do. The interface is very straightforward and user-friendly. That does not mean, though, that it lacks on features. Everything you need to create your e-learning is offered.
The tool allows you to select from a lot of templates so that you can start from a pre-design and then customise it to your needs.
What really makes a difference with e-learning courses is to have its users engaged when they are taking them and one thing that makes this possible is the abilty to add interactiveness to it which is something you can easily achieve with Articulate Storyline.
Another great feature is that you can adapt the course to a mobile device quite easily.
One good thing about the company is that they offer both online and on-site training so that you can learn how to use the tool which is something that is really appreciated.

Cons: If you want to use the ability to share the slides with your team you have to pay for the 360 plan, of course, it is a nice feature to have but prices can easily go up with this plan.

Pros: Storyline is one of the easiest and most intuitive rapid authoring tools on the market. Not only is it easy to use, it also has a large support network in the form of the e-learning heroes site which provides the solution to your issues and answers to your questions from a supportive community.

Due to its intuitive design, it is easy to pick up and can be then used to create both simple and complex activity courses.

Cons: The main con is that you do need to have the latest version of Storyline to really benefit as the support from Storyline 2 has ended which means that anything created on those versions will have issues with browsers as they evolve.

Overall: This is a great all-around authoring tool which can be used by both beginners for quick solutions and also experts to create high-quality learning experiences.

Pros: This product changed the industry, and change my career from a teacher to an eLearning professional. It is based on Microsoft and easy to use, and able to deliver effective content.

Cons: It is always and has been buggy, I have to allocate the same number of troubleshooting hours as I do development because of issues,. We have to test and test and test each course because of the bugs. Sometimes I do not upgrade the program when I have a version that is stable and does not crash or cause course issues.

Pros: This software works perfectly for anybody who wants to deliver learning modules. It is a tool that has everything is well balanced and a pleasure to use. Articulate seems to cope well in post-Flash era of elearning and quietly moving all features into producing HTML output.

Cons: Latest versions of Storyline lack innovation and new breakthrough features. The company has made its name in developing easy-to-use versions of what was only could be done via custom work. Now as industry is too "stable", so is Articulate Storyline.

Pros: Quick, intuitive app that is great for developing a course quickly and efficiently. After watching the YouTube videos to get you started, you should have a course done in a decent amount of time. Branching is easy to create and track. Included assets, such as the built in templates and characters help the user complete a professional looking course. UPDATE: It can now publish to MP4! YES!

Cons: Eventually, I would like to see a browser-based version of this tool, so, Chromebooks could be used to create eLearning courses. And a more affordable version for individuals working on contracts.

Overall: This authoring tool allows me to create dynamic eLearning courses quickly but also allows me to create large, project managed courses with the same quality as some graphically designed and coded courses.

Pros: Articulate Storyline uses many design elements that Windows users are accustomed to. This makes the user comfortable with it from the start. It has a fairly easy learning curve for new users and online training resources to grow with. The software has incredible power for simulations and complex training modules. Its SCORM output has been compatible with every system that I have used it with. It has quickly become the standard for our company.

Cons: Only available on Windows, no Mac OS support. Storyline 360 and Storyline 3 do not follow the same development path.

Overall: It allows us to develop eLearning in house and host it on our LMS.

Pros: If you know Powerpoint, it is so easy to ramp up to Storyline. Add the 5 Storyline 1 hour training sessions and you are even more equipped and ready to go. The functionality to add engagement, quizzing and awesome. The ability to add characters and voice over is very simple and brings another level of engagement to the e-learning.

Cons: Just started using this year as I was a Powerpoint guru and afraid to make the transition, so right now don't have any major cons until a use more.

Overall: Improving our company's e-learning. Making e-learning fun and engaging. Better equipping our people to be successful, align with our culture.

Pros: The ability to import existing PowerPoint decks and then modify them to make them more interactive has been a real time saver.

The available templates, images, icons, and illustrations available in the Articulate library is AMAZING. It would take us days to find or create these resources external to Storyline. It's been a game changer for us.

Cons: We wish it had Audio as part of the content library. It would be nice to add music/soundtracks and sound effects via the content library. We would also like additional photographic characters (they slowly add more)

Pros: The free templates are amazing. I love their community site that is up-to-date on LD trends and challenges. Everyone that has taken one of my courses on SL2 likes how fun and engaging they can be. I can add all types of file formats, different types of quizzes, interaction, and multimedia.

Cons: I never seem to feel like an expert as some of the functions/interactions are hard to create. I went to a two day training on SL2 and it didn't teach me enough as I am still trying to figure out variables and how they work. Sometimes the E-Learning Heroes take days to get back to me if I have an issue and don't always explain in detail how to correct the issue.

Overall: Mainly information on ID best practices and some "how tos" from their blog and community. It can be really engaging and fun to create a course using SL2. I like their templates as they are easy to customize. However, now there is SL3 and 360, so getting help or templates for SL2 are few and far between.

Pros: Best Authoring Program by Far

Microsoft PowerPoint Style
Great Exemplary Support
Very Powerful
Continuous addition of new features
Excellent Review System
Powerful Testing & Feedback Capability
Integrated Audio & Video Editing
Rarely ever crashes
Large library of Tutorials

This is a really great program for developing E-Learning and training lessons and courses. The program is loaded with capability. I have never seen a program that does so much. For example, iif you want to have an audio track, you don't need any other software to record and edit the audio. It is all built in. If you want to add a vid

I have been creating and supervising e-learning courses for decades and there is none that comes even close to Articulate Storyline in power, features and capability.

Storyline looks and feels very much like Microsoft Powerpoint. I think that they have an arrangement with Microsoft to use much of the PowerPoint code as processes like editing a photo is exactly the same. So using it is very easy and comfortable. Most of the commands are familiar and function just as in PowerPoint.

The support is incredibly good. And you will need it because there is so much capability in Storyline that there is a huge amount to learn. Agents respond and will even create a video to show you how.

Cons: Some operations are very slow
No Macro Capability
Very steep learning curve
Expensive
Very limited availability to send e-mails

Biggest negative is the very high price and the pricing rules. Each user has to have a license. This is a killer if you have developers, supervisors, subject matter experts, and editors. each needs a license.

For a program of such power and so Microsoft like, it is surprising that you cannot customize the ribbons and worse, there is no macro capability. So repetitive tasks are burdensome.

There is an incredibly steep learning curve. Expect to spend at least 12 hours on tutorials before you can do anything other than trivia. And even then, you will only know a fraction of what you can do. I have used Storyline for over 2 years and every week or so I find a new thing that I can do and have to take a few minutes to learn that. Given all the support, the high price is in a sense justified but it still is a big investment of cash and your time if you want to use StoryLine. But you do get the best.

There are dozens of little things that they haven't programmed that would seem easy. Like you cannot send an e-mail to the learner in the middle or a course. Or if you want a glossary for many lessons there is no way of maintaining the glossary for all. If you add a new term, you must do so separately for each lesson

The program does so much that several of the functions are really slow. Previewing and publishing are the worst.

Pros: I love the ease and layout of Articulate, as anyone who has used powerpoint can easily adapt to the overall screen layout.

Articulate can be as basic or as complex as you want to make it and so is a great opening tool for anyone looking to start in E-Learning development.

The forums and customer support have been the big difference compared to Captivate.

Cons: The fact that there are numerous versions of Storyline at the moment does make it a bit puzzling for anyone who is new to the industry.

Pros: The many ways to customize slides and quizzes to suit your needs. All the demos and assistance from the storyline community.

Cons: Not for users who don't have some basic logic skills about variables and programming. Although I experienced it as user friendly at first, my colleagues who are less computer literate struggled.

Overall: Adaptability and customizability

Pros: The software is a tool that when created properly and with expert help can create an amazing learning experience for learners.

Cons: There are so many ways you can dig yourself into a hole with this software, and produce a less than stellar learning experience for users. You really, really need to hire someone who works all day in this software to save yourself your sanity.

Overall: This software was amazing when it came to using an expert who could create and launch our vision. But when I would try and DIY this software, it took hours, sanity, and years off my life in stress. I highly recommend hiring an expert.

Pros: Ease of use, community

Cons: Manual text formatting required

Overall: For ease of use, Storyline 2 is unparalleled in my opinion. Even if you haven't used an elearning tool before, you'll find it easy to pick up and learn. The support community is a great resource if you get stuck. My biggest complaint is the lack of a style sheet, which creates a LOT of manual formatting work. You can make slide masters like PowerPoint, but no universal CSS like style sheet.

Pros: full feature set

Cons: some features are finicky

Overall: This eCourse Development tool is a great blend of PowerPoint-type functionality along with customizable web-interface type stuff, like mouse-click triggers. Some of the features are a bit finicky to use (combination of configurations relying on complex order of events which is not apparent to the course developer). A few features do not operate as expected (such as copy text format onto other text) but the Customer Service is very responsive, especially on the Community chat board. Despite these few minor setbacks, definitely the best product of its type on the market.

Pros: Not much

Cons: It is not much of an authoring platform with most features available in the most basic LMS.

Overall: It seems quite obvious that many of these reviews are written by administrators justifying their software purchase decision or individuals who don't actually understand what causes individuals to retain content. Having a slide deck with a screen recording, audio, and questions (drag & drop, multi choice, etc) was groundbreaking 9 years ago when I first saw them. Now it's expected in a training software. This software has the category simulations listed, but this doesn't do simulations unless you have programmed your own javascript page and inserted it into the articulate. (I can do that in a powerpoint just as easy) A 5 star software should have actual simulations where the learner can make mistakes navigating systems and see the consequences of the wrong choice. It's difficult to make them, but when they are made can communicate what tens of slides won't accomplish, no matter how many assessments and matching exercises you have, because the skill being demonstrated isn't what is being actually tested for with the questions, the questions will demonstrate the learner could memorize, but nothing in the questions shows they know how to apply the content in context of a scenario. How many managers get emails with attachments from unknown sources which they open? Yes, they took an assessment that they knew the information, but without practical application the material fell on ears that could regurgitate the responses but could not apply the process. News flash, it's still an issue, and the power points and articulate screen grabs will come until real simulations show the real world and how to avoid the pitfalls.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you want a real Training Software invest in Content Authoring software separate from the LMS. Your LMS needs to be able to accept SCORM data from other platforms. The authoring software needs to allow you to create actual simulations with the user maneuvering different scenarios or screens and selecting different options in response to a scenario. Each answer doesn't immediately say it is right or wrong, but instead moves forward with the consequences of the actions taken. I finally convinced my client to move away from this and into a proper LMS and use content authoring software appropriate to the material in the CBT (Computer Based Training)

Comments: I have been an Articulate StoryLine user since it came out in about 2013. It took a while, but once I learned how to use it, I was able to create hundreds of amazing e-course modules and interactive games. It became one of my favorite software development tools allowing me to do things I never dreamed possible and really impressed (and expanded) my clients.

Support was okay. But I never really had to submit a support ticket. Articulate has the best community and I was usually able to get the help I needed from moderators or other community members.

However, I can relate to Chris' frustration. For example, StoryLine has the capability to execute javascript which greatly expands what you can do with it. But the stock answer when you have a javascript question is ... "Sorry, we don't provide support for javascript; perhaps someone in the community can help you out." Fortunately for me, there was always someone well versed with javascript that was willing to share their code.

Recently, it is becoming apparent that StoryLine has some major shortcomings, and that Articulate has been slow in adding new features and enhancements in response to client requests. These include such things as a) inability to use with high-res monitors; b) no capability to e-mail results to admin or user; c) no feature to have background audio across all slides (see Chris' review); d) no capability to publish only HTML5 output; e) poor quality of HTML5 published output that does NOT work well on many mobile devices; f) no responsive design capability; g) no capability to send results to a database; h) very slow player response on timeline when synchronizing animations and no true scrubber; and several other issues.

In Nov. 2016, Articulate released 360 which bundled all of their current programs into one annual subscription (which is way too expensive for us to even consider). StoryLine 2 as a stand-alone product is still available and Articulate claims that StoryLine 3 will be available sometime in 2017. However, whether SL3 will address the major shortcomings of us and others, remains unknown.

Therefore, to meet our needs for course development in an ever changing technological environment, we are currently exploring alternative e-learning software development tools. Our leading candidate is Captivate 9. It appears to have all the features missing in StoryLine (and much more). Also, it appears that CP9 is a much better value.

Recommendations to other buyers: For serious e-learning development, especially for HTML5, responsive and mobile development, there are better software tools than StoryLine.

Pros: My favorite part was that it resembled PowerPoint. The software was easy to use because it was similar to a product I already knew.

Cons: I wanted more pre-made modules to pick from. I know with Articulate 360 this is the case, but when using Storyline, I felt limited at times due to the slide outlines that I could choose from.

Overall: I was able to use Storyline to build a continuing education course for veterinarians about Law and Ethics. Storyline gave me the ability to make interactive cases in which the student had to choose how they would handle a specific case, and then the course would go from there based on the decisions being made. Articulate was easy to learn, and it gave me the ability to think outside of the box when creating a new course.

Cons: Background music is not supported
Customer support was not responsive to our issues. They did not care that the software didn't work.

Overall: We purchased Storyline 2 with much excitement. Unfortunately we encountered a bug that the product could not handle background music. Performance becomes very slow. A presentation with 20 slides it would take over 1 minute to load a slide and the music was not continuous. The music restarts at the beginning of every slide. We contacted support and they said: "Sorry that is a known issue. It can't be fixed." No workaround was suggested. Subsequently we asked for a refund and that was declined. In summary, Articulate did not care about our issue.

Pros: The product is simple to navigate and all features are just a mouse click away. The general Microsoft "PowerPoint" feel makes it easy to adapt storyboards and convert it to eLearning. The publishing features are quite extensive, allowing publishing to most types of devices and platforms.

Cons: The costs of upgrading and version updates are excessive.

Overall: I find the entire suite of Articulate products to be user friendly, easy to navigate for users that just enter the eLearning development space up to advanced users. You can pretty much design and develop any project that you can think of.

Pros: Articulate creates products that solve problems we, the consumer, have. They don't push a "this is what you need" mentality on us. They find out what would make our jobs easier, and then they deliver. Don't we all wish every software company would do that?

Cons: There isn't much to complain about with this product. Maybe wishing it would be a little less expensive? But, you get what you pay for.

Overall: Storyline lets us get training to the field quickly. In a world where technology is changing at a fast pace, we need to be able to get learning content to our people as quickly as possible to stay ahead. With Storyline, we've created a host of solutions: soft-skills selling, CRM software training, scenarios on customer engagement, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: Storyline does a lot of the same things other products offer, but it does them in half the clicks with a better user interface and better customer and community support. Try it out! Actually build a course/experience in it.

Pros: The mantra is simple--what do you want to do? when do you want it to happen? Those two questions are all it takes to start some amazing creation. The tool is nearly limitless.

Cons: Because there are so many ways that you can do the same thing, it can be a bit daunting just getting started with the software.

Overall: I'm going into my sixth month using Articulate Storyline 2 and have already cranked out some incredible eLearning and presentations. The interface is relatively easy to use for anyone familiar with PowerPoint and the options to create are endless.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're making the investment in the software I highly recommend investing in some professional training on it as well. Though it's easy to use--the lessons that I learned in my training were priceless and would've saved me a lot of work hours on a few projects that I completed prior to class.

Comments: As a user of Articulates Storyline 2 me and my colleagues have found a variety of ways to accomplish our design brief when creating e-learning content.

We really love the ability to create and manipulate system simulations via the screen capture functionality and have been able to create a compliment of eLearning to train a large cohort of staff within our organisation effectively and efficiently (some of whom do not work the normal 9-5).

Although some people may think adding variables to an eLearning package we have found the user interface within SL2 to be very intuitive when revisiting and revising a course.

Would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking into eLearning as a solution to their training needs.

PS; we have even looked at using it to supplement Instructor Lead training for assessments.

Comments: Ease of use was key as I began to use Storyline. and Ease of use was certainly delivered. Anyone who has ever created slides for a presentation can create a simple course without reading a single help screen. That being said, as I grew in my ability to create and develop more complex e-learning, the tools were waiting for me and continue to do so. That is good. That would be enough. But added to the software itself, the user community website is amazing. I would score it a 25 on a scale of 1-10. The site is lovely and any time I have ever had a question, I found the answer there. Along with information and guidance, the opportunities to interact with others and share content and best practices has made me better at what I do. Comments: We were an elearning shop that used Captivate. Advanced developers got along with it okay, but more junior staff really struggled with anything beyond the most basic features. Additionally, publishing to Word for subject matter expert reviews was an awkward process.

Switching to Storyline, things clicked. Advanced Developers did things much more quickly. Masterpages and templates really helped us leverage repeatable designs very efficiently. Junior developers mastered the basics, and upskilled to develop more advanced interactions because they weren't spending so much time just assembling basics.

Folks just got it- I know Captivate technically has much of the same capabilities. But the differentiation isn't about features, it's about execution. For many reasons, teams (several across our large organization switched) executed much better in Storyline.

Also, subject matter experts could receive Word outputs from Storyline which could be imported directly back into the Storyline file to make the editing process much more of a direct action with subject matter experts, creating more efficiency in the review process.

We are all thrilled to have made the switch.

Comments: As a multimedia developer this is my go to tool for eLearning. I use this everyday because of how simple it is to use and the ability that it gives me to create nice subtle animations and some really nice eLearning. I have tried other tools out there and they are either more complex to use or just don't have the features that storyline has.

Pros

Really simple to use
Has a great community behind it if you need any help sorting something out or need some ideas
It publishes to all the formats that I use at the moment.
The ability to use JavaScript to get that little bit extra out of it

Cons

It would be really hand if it could publish straight out to Scorm Cloud like captivate as thats what i use for testing
Some of the variables can be a bit iffy sometimes and can take a bit of trouble solving
Constantly having to expand windows to enter requirements for variables especially if you have 30 variables to change.
Having a built in feature to put an image in the background of the HTML5 instead of just a simple color

But overall it is a really good product and i would recommend it to anyone that wants to make simple eLearning as they will be able to pick it up in a matter of minutes.

Comments: Whether your looking to create a bespoke interactive game or a rapid interactive guide, Storyline has the flexibility and durability to meet your needs.

From a usability perspective, anyone familiar with PowerPoint will find themselves able to perform basic Storyline functions in a matter of minutes. Like a good computer game, Storyline is easy to pick up and play with but has a depth and power that enables more experienced users to build some truly impressive creations.

I'd recommend using Storyline alongside a graphic design package (such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks) to get the absolute maximum out of it but this is by no means essential.

Comments: Articulate Storyline is very flexible and allows me to create any type of program I need. The layers and triggers definitely add to the interactivity and connectivity of the information being presented. The only recommendation I would make is to add more shapes, graphics, etc. that can be used when designing the program. I love working with Articulate Storyline!

Comments: I've been using Storyline 2 for the past several years and continue to be amazed at how flexible it is when it comes to creating interactive content. To get the most from this software, you will experience a learning curve (not too steep) but it's well worth the time. It's use of triggers, conditions, and variables makes it the tool of choice for all of the work I do for my clients. The company provides a variety of templates, a weekly e-Learning challenge, and one of the best community forums I've had the opportunity to participate in. Do yourself a favor and spend a few weeks with this software. If you do, I'm confident it will become one of your "go to" tools!

I found it quite easy to get the hang of which is great when your learning to use any new software.

Comments: I have held about 75 courses in Articulate Storyline as a software trainer and nearly everytime I received the feedback of learners like "Oh, that's easy" or "I never thought it could be so easy to create interactivity"

Pro:
+ Very intuitive (makes it easy to build advanced and elaborated interactions)
+ Great support from community
+ Lots of interactive options (sliders, states, layers, drag&drop etc.)

Con:
- No mp4 output
- Not many system variables like date etc.

From my perspective Articulate Storyline is the easiest rapid e-learning tool available on the market. Beginners will learn to produce elaborated advanced course within 2 days which is very fast - compared to other tools.

Comments: Easy to create complex interactions and branching. No need to learn any complex coding-type tools, just read the triggers in plain English.
There are a few quirky or missing things. There's no text-to-speech engine, so we are using a very odd combination of software & strange workflow to sort that out. There's no way to publish as a movie/video file, so some projects we're still completing in Captivate. Also we've found that recording audio directly into Storyline limits your options - if you later export that audio, you will get 1 long file, of the original recording, without any of the edits made within the software.

Comments: I can't say enough good things about Storyline. My opinion is that it is really easy for anyone to pick up and start using to quickly build some great elearning courses. The tools are very robust and have great features that allow you to make very intriguing interaction. Articulate and the Community at large have fantastic tutorials for anyone to get developing quickly.

What I love about the tool is that it can take a bit more time to master. This is because there is so much you can do with it that goes beyond just online courses. Community members have shared games and interactions that can also be made with Storyline. Your imagination is almost the only thing that will limit you in your creations.

Comments: I've used Storyline for over 2 years (v1.5 and v 2.0) with a variety of clients.

The tool is extremely powerful, yet usable. For departments leveraging Powerpoint, there is an import tool that really helps your team effectively repurpose Powerpoint assets into this authoring tool. It exports to Word for SME review or to make workbooks. If there isn't a function inherent in the tool that you would like, it allows the developer to add in customized Javascript to extend the functionality to anything within their programming ability.

We had used a competitor's product for years in a department of 7. Only 2 were productive in the tool, and the remainder of the team never really became productive in the tool. Support was poor.

When we switched to Storyline, within 3 months, the majority of the team was significantly productive in the tool and we repacked over 100 courses into Storyline. Support from Articulate was spectacular. This extends beyond tech support (which is great) to a team of people at Articulate that frequently run training (webinars) and offer resources (tutorials, templates, tips).

It changed how productive every developer in the department was.

Comments: I have recently started to use Articulate Storyline to create e-learning that non-linear, and simulation based. Storyline boasts an easy to use interface with a very low learning curve. The online community is also full of helpful videos to help a new user get started. While I have not dove into the advanced features yet, I have no doubt they will also be easy to learn and implement.

Comments: Articulate offers great eLearning products with many capabilities but most importantly, the user community is absolutely fantastic! The users offer so much support as well as the Articulate staff. The well-seasoned to the first time user will benefit from the encouragement and technical expertise freely offered.
I use Articulate Storyline to create eLearning courses. I appreciate the many features, such as the layers and the trigger options. The layer and trigger options allow instructional designers to create engaging interactions. Learners don't appreciate reading bullets while listening to narration on every slide so the extra features allow learners to actively engage with the content by clicking around and getting immediate feedback, etc. Designers can create fun activities and include sound and video. The free form quizzing options are terrific for creating custom quizzes and I really appreciate the publishing options as well, especially if you are designing for mobile delivery.
Lastly, I love the translate options. I'm frequently engaged by foreign clients who require eLearning in their native language. Using the translation feature saves my client a great deal of money. I also appreciate being able to check a box in the player to change all the back-end text like the previous, next, and try again, in the client¿s native language. Joyfully, many languages are included, even Sanskrit! Okay, I¿m totally kidding about the Sanskrit!
I love Storyline and I love Articulate! It¿s a great company with a lot of great people who are willing to help and love what they do!

I have uses both Storyline 1 and 2 and I am pleaed with the results.

Comments: So easy to use and create engaging eLearning. We also used it as a format for our online FAQ. With the search function it works perfectly!

I have a staff member that is not a trained eLearninng Developer, but was able to quickly pick up how to use Storyline 2 (along with eLearning/Adult Learning Principles) and create fantastic courses. We do a lot of compliance training which can be very dull and technical. The features S2 offers allows us to add the correct animation to ensure the higher learning transfer.

Cons: Can't publish to MP4 which is sometimes needed in our sector.

Comments: Articulate Storyline allows you to create robust and interactive eLearnings. The ability to create software demonstrations off of screen captures allows the learners to get familiar with new software without having to have access to a test environment. The software allows the designer to use variables and "program" the eLearning easily; easy to learn and master without the need of experience in Information Technology/Programming.

Comments: When it comes to creating elearning courses, storyline is the complete package. What's great about storyline is that there really is no limit to what you can create with it. Complex scenarios, interactive simulations, whatever is simple and straight forward. And Story view helps see how all of the pieces fit together, making branching a breeze. If there is one thing I would like to see, it is the list of pre-programmed variables that Lectora provides. That would make this software unbeatable. Still, with the backing of the E-Learning Heroes community, even things like that a quick question (and answer) away.
