Value for Money

Comments: The original product of PCArchiver was quite good and was very, very helpful in helping my office implement it. Later I wanted to upgrade to a version that would work with newer versions of Windows. I was told I had to purchase the latest version". The product has many glitches that create problems make it more problematic to use. Additionally the manual has many mis-statements and confusing instructions that require clarification from the vendor. So when my staff and I tried to solve the problems we were having we talked to the tech support person who was utterly unhelpful--telling us the we had to have a tech support person work out our problems and that we needed to "read the manual". This was nothing more than an incompetent person trying to cover for a poorly designed product with dreadfully poor documentation. We have tried to navigate our way to continue archiving our charts but have never been able to use the system on a newer version of Windows and are now worried that when we can no longer use the software with Windows XP, we will have lost thousands of charts. In the meantime, a truly skilled software engineer has looked at this and has created a more workable version with far fewer glitches and with this we will be able to salvage the whole archiving task and get away from this nightmare. Oh, and by the way, this engineer has spent about 6 hours developing a more functional archiver program. So shame on the person who has treated us this way. I would strongly discourage anyone considering this from buying it. Should you have any questions about it please contact me.
