Pros

As a used bookstore we have utilized the customer features to track book credits. This allows us to see when our customers were last in and contact info to get them back! Simple and easy to use!!

Cons

There is little I don't like about this software.. it's a software that it always in evolution. Having consistency when having doing reports... A default selection choice would be nice...

It is so easy to use, easy to teach our staff. It is a pleasure to work with your customer service team.

Pros

We have used RE since day one of using a POS system. We looked into others before upgrading and no other system does what RE does - at least for our small business. It is easy to use and if we have question that can’t be answered by Google - we email and have answer almost immediately. If we need further guidance - it’s just a phone call away.

Cons

When we upgraded - the screens looked a little different, so that was a small issue to work through.

Ease of checking out customers and keeping track of inventory.

Pros

Pretty simple and explanatory interface. Not difficult to teach new hires how to use. Tech support is usually pretty speedy and efficient.

Cons

Every time there's an update with the software or with Windows 10, we have to call tech support because something becomes incompatible or switched off. Also unhappy that we started out being able to use our POS as a touch screen, and when Windows 10 became the operating system, it was no longer able to operate as touch screen, tacking on time to our checkout speed. Some of the report functions are a bit tedious to use. Many customers unhappy that we can't tell them how far along in the loyalty program they are without us doing some major research; wish it was just automatically tracked in their account.

Overall experience in the past 9 years has been exceptional and worry-free. Again the customer service has always been amazing.

Pros

Customer service and value for money are the best things about RetailEdge. The inventory management is one of the most straightforward out of all POS systems I'm familiar with.

Cons

The look of the program is quite basic, but has improved over time with the different software updates.

My overall experience with RetailEdge has been wonderful. Everyone has been so helpful and patient even when it took me a few times to figure out some of the steps and remember to write them down. The customer has been top notch. I have also used them for some custom label templates, and the process was a breeze.

Pros

The customer support is very responsive and thorough. I haven't found anything that they haven't been able to figure out yet. I also love all the features that are available with the huge price tag that other POS systems try to charge. RetailEdge has more features than I need at my independently-owned single location garden center and landscaping service business, but I can see how they would be very useful for a larger, multi-store business. I also really appreciate the regular program updates. As you can tell, I have a hard time picking just one thing to like about RetailEdge.

Cons

The help manual could use some updating since some major updates have happened. Some of the features/functions are labeled differently or follow a different series of steps. This could be very confusing to someone that is new to RetailEdge.

We have used this POS system for 5 years now. As gold subscibers, we get access to immediate and very helpful customer service that I feel is a good value for our money. Huge shout-out to \[sensitive content hidden\]. He is very good at walking me through making changes to our system and teaching me how to do things. Having an option for a membership and loyalty program has been an key feature for us. We recommend Retail Edge to new markets similar to our that need to do complex consignment sales and discounts.

Pros

I love that Retail Edge provides us a point of sale system doing consignment and wholesale. We run on a lot of grant funding so being able to pull reports with specific detail is outstanding. The customer service is always good and I am able to get assistance with any questions or problems.

Cons

It can be confusing to new users. There is alot the system can do and the learning curve can be tricky.

The program has been for the most part flawless and super stable. We've been using it in our store since 1996.

Pros

Easy to use and teach new employees how to use RetailEdge. The Inventory control is also very good in that we can monitor exactly what we need to see where we need to make adjustments.

Cons

While RetailEdge is great for inventory control it is cumbersome in some aspects. RetailEdge does not allow for multiple vendors to be assigned to the same item. Only 1 main vendor per item. When using the matrix there are only 100 fields to be entered on any particular element value like Color or Size and while it hasn't really happened on size our Color Values has grown to Matrix Color 1, Color 2, and Color 3.

Pros

Ease of use when you first start using it. There are many reports and functions that help running my business. As a music store, I like the ability to create packages. I use it for putting guitar and accessory packages for special sales.

Cons

I don't really like the change in the look of the POS screens, they look cartoonish. I really don't have the time to learn all the functions as some are complicated.

In investigating RE, I emailed the company many, many times. I always got a prompt, complete reply that covered all of my concerns. They were patient and helped me transfer data twice, as the new computer crashed and had to be repaired, then the software reinstalled. In refining the program for my vitamin shop, they have been helpful every step of the way, often offering solutions from their own experience using RE.

Pros

\-soft learning curve -excellent reports -feature rich -extreme value for the price - wicked awesome support -easy to update inventory

Cons

\- minor tweaks that may well be built in later- just getting used to another system, nothing really against RE

Reason for choosing RetailEdge

I looked over many other options. I didn't like any of them as they were all cloud based and not inventory-involved enough for my liking. I also wanted reports I could really dig into and see what my spending and inventory were doing. As a software trainer, I appreciated the level of support and backup I got in switching. Last, as an individual with traumatic head injury (which can affect memory and attention) I can say the system doesn't give me the stressed out headaches PCA sometimes did. It's very clean and not intimidating.

PC America was bought out by a credit card processor whose local rep, bless her little heart, is a Southern Belle transplant who should have stayed south of the Mason-Dixon line. Inefficient and not very nice to deal with. The system was becoming clunky and not well maintained by PCA. Poor customer service, etc. We wanted something not cloud based, easy to use, and flexible. A friend suggested Retail Edge, so I investigated and found them easy to work with and ticking all of the boxes I required: standalone, not cloud based, robust inventory control.

I can perform all of my inventory management processes and sales from anywhere. Even when I travel to Trade shows across the country, I am never impacted by internet issues.

Pros

This is a full featured POS and inventory management application that can run with or without an internet connection. All of this at a very reasonable initial investment price.

It does not integrated with my website database, Magento.

Being able to keep our data on site is reassuring for us. Making daily backups and taking the information off site in case of fire has increased our security level.

Pros

The sales process is easy to do. The screens are simply set out so that you can find what you need when the sale is occurring. The inventory entry process is easy to follow but gets so much easier with increased use of the program. There are options to customize things so that you are "fitting" your business to a software program. Customer service was awesome and helped us quickly troubleshoot some hardware issues that made daily operations cumbersome.

Cons

The prompt for the description field after you fill in the stock number is a little annoying. We just manage it by completing the description field first and then scanning the UPC in the stock number field. I wish the inventory stock number field would auto assign the next number.

It works well with our current system.

Pros

We chose this software because we didn't have to pay a monthly fee (except for support). We liked that the inventory and reports are all included.

Cons

The software was a little confusing in the beginning. It's expensive to get new workstations but it pays for itself eventually when you use it for a longer amount of time.

Made my product inventory easy to handle. Does not need much computer knowledge to operate. Easy to capture customer's information and use the data to develop promotions and obtain more return customers to our crystal showroom. Lots of functions for data backup and security to prevent unauthorized entry to sensitive data ( about inventory, customer info, sales and account info etc..)

Pros

I have been using RetailEdge POS since 2014. Glad to say that I'm very satisfied with this software. It's very easy to learn if one can commit just 1 to 2 hours for one week when newly bought. The functions provided are certainly worth more than the price tag of this software (I'm not kidding). The function buttons and menu items are easy to navigate and after a few tries, it becomes natural to navigate. When compared to other competing POS software which may look more colorful and user friendly at first, they sell functions which are already included with RetailEdge as add-ons. A good example would be RetailEdge's gift card function, membership function, cupon function and many more. With the other software, you will end up paying for each add-ons and the final cost of owning that software can be quite costly. I have been persuaded by many firms that want me to switch over to their POS software but when asked if they can give a software that has the same or more built in functions as that of RetailEdge AND at the same cost of RetailEdge, I never seem to get a reply from them...haha. Any software is as good only if the tech support provided is reliable and prompt and the folks at RetailEdge have not failed me once. The tech support cost is again affordable when compared to other POS software. Oh, before I forget, the constant software update provided is simply awesome. You can be assured that you're in safe hands for the long term when you purchase RetailEdge POS.

Cons

Not much actually. I just hope that the gift card and membership (points system) functions can be expanded more in RetailEdge POS. These are the only functions I personally feel that has not caught up with other competing POS software. There have been many updates and improvements in RetailEdge pos EXCEPT for gift card and points system functions. If these can be made competitive with other software in the POS market, I'll be happy as lark. Maybe as I write this review, the good folks at RetailEdge are already coding new functions and updates for the above 2 functions....finger crossed.

RetailEdge has been pretty flawless for me, and the rare occasions I've needed assistance, I was taken care of promptly by their team. Everyone has been very professional, and I've never felt "rushed" off the phone when needed support. They take their time, explain things thoroughly, and are kind in the process.

Pros

I love how easy it is to navigate, and customize different reports. It's great to be able to really "drill down" into the inventory and get all sorts of useful data on products. This has been a HUGE help in determining which items to stock more of, and which ones to let go. It really streamlines my inventory! I also love to customize the setup for multiple users, so not every employee has access to all the features. There's nothing it can't do so far!

Cons

I'm having trouble thinking of anything I really don't like... The one thing I wish it did, is have the ability to attach a "time-sensitive" note for individual customers. Similar to the "note" that pops up when selecting a customer account, I wish there was a feature that could let me know when their professional license expires (or is getting close to expiring), so I would be automatically prompted to ask for their updated copy.

Reason for choosing RetailEdge

Being able to download the demo version and play with it, as well as easily chat with RetailEdge over the phone, made it a "done deal" for me. The demo version is AMAZING, because I got to use it and mess around with it and really be able to gauge whether or not it would work for what I needed. I love that it's somewhat simply, on its face, but gets very detailed the more you get comfortable in exploring the features. RetailEdge, for the WIN!

We have been with you for 11 year so we are obviously happy.

Pros

\[sensitive content hidden\] was incredibly helpful. Very patient and knowledgeable. We RARELY use our Gold service but when we do it is CRITICAL to us. So thank you for supporting us.

Cons

In the past some of the support staff has assumed that we have no clue about anything. We may not be software engineers but at least we know our business. This has not been a problem in years, so apparently you fixed the problem.

Using RetailEdge to keep track of sales, inventory, and run needed reports. Very positive experience.

Pros

It is easy to add products and / or make changes to existing products. You can run many types of reports to get whatever information you might need at any given time. Tech support is the BEST! (Thanks, Raymond!!!)

Cons

So far the biggest issue is adjusting to the newer look when updates hapen - last one moved the product tabs to the side from the top.

Pros

We own the software and the data we collect. I have never cared for 'cloud' providers who if you stop paying or move to another service, you lose access to data from your customers.The amount of tie that you guys have committed to the Shopify Integration. It is as easy as can be. thanks for the effort so I didn't have to learn myself.

Cons

I would love to be able to recover credit card processing fees through a 'loss of cash discount' or something like that.Every vender and government agency I deal with charges me their processing fees, why can't I do the same through RetailEdge?

We have been using RetailEdge for around 20 years and have always been very satisfied with all the services and products we use.

Pros

The system is almost an all-in-one for our business! Integrations are seamless. Support is amazing! We can get any report we need and manage our inventory and sales all in one system.

Cons

I have nothing to add regarding what I like least.

Pros

The software is easy to use, there aren't any features I'd like in a POS system that are missing. In fact there are features in RE that I don't use that make me want to try them out just because I have this access to them.

Cons

I have reported a bug five years ago and it still hasn't been fixed. Support looked at it with me and said I was the only person that had reported that issue and that they'd work on it but yearssssss later the bug is still there!
