Worship Leader Music Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Worship Leader Use" November 6, 2018 5.0 Pros The best thing about planning center is being able to schedule teams for worship sets and put up songs via the app. You can email everyone directly with any specific info or updates. The app is handy and simple. Cons The hardest thing about planning center (and it’s not even that hard) is uploading songs. If it’s not in the database/doesn’t have a CCLI number it can be frustrating. Sometimes the formats don’t line up when you are inserting chords over the lyrics. It is affordable, fairly user-friendly and there are many different add-ons to integrate your whole church technology which we are looking forward to. You change an address in one place instead of three and four. Pros We love the versatility and ease of communicating with a team of people. We are planning on purchasing a full suite options for this software in the next six months. Which will include attendance check in, children’s ministry check-in, financial records etc. Cons Sometimes navigating between options within the software isn’t easy to figure out. We use it. It is the answer for a lot of problems managing people and information at our church. We use the People app and the Check in. We are planning to start using the Service soon. Pros: It is design for the church. Is not a CRM that you customize. Cons Some parts of the apps are difficult to use. Not friendly. As the admin, I usually get people stuck in some parts trying to figure the app out... It's revolutionized how I interact with our worship team. Pros I use this regularly because I'm on my church's worship team and our services are planned out using this app. I really like it because I can avoid using email for the most part. It allows me to mark blackout dates where I can't be scheduled and it lets me listen to sample tracks of music that we'll doing. It's an excellent tool to have! Cons I'm not the biggest fan of the interface, but they've made incremental changes that have been nice. It's still a bit too convoluted and I think that they could simplify it more. From production to video to music team to speaking and even more, everyone can see all the details in one central place and know what their role is and what their cues are. Cons Nothing really to list in the cons category. It's been worth the money to gain the progress through organization, and definitely reduced tensions between teams! It's a very easy to use software and we continue to use it to schedule volunteers. Cons It can be a bit clunky to try to view past plans on planning center and the button layout is a little off. Pros Planning Center is the best app to schedule any person for any role during the event time. Initially, the roles would need to be configured first. When the roles are configured, the people can be added to the software using their email addresses and the people added can be assigned to any role. When the role is assigned to someone, it notifies that person and now the persons job is to accept it or decline depending on their availability on that event date. Moreover, the files, media, and all the important information can also be shared with all the people in a role for easier access. Cons Sometimes, it can be hard to navigate to files and people. I encountered a bug that when you add a person to the role, it does not show on the list for a while. It may be my internet issue. But anyway, it looks like it is resolved after the new update. The additional functions like accessing music and files isn't the best and still needs work. Pros I appreciate being able to see plans and serving requests from our worship leader. I think it's a great tool for him and the church as a whole to organize the services and volunteers. I mostly use the app which is pretty easy to use but the website is far easier. Cons The app is layed out a bit oddly and isn't the most functional- specifically viewing lists of teams and trying to go between teams or dates, there isn't an easy way to go back or get back to where you were before. Also, trying to listen to the music we are supposed to learn isn't the easiest to work with - often the controls for the music aren't viewable on the screen and sometimes it just plays the music without being able to stop/control it. September 26, 2018 5.0 Useful to have an account when working with multiple churches to keep set lists and services organized, but all in once place. Pros It eliminates all our emails, messages, texts, etc, and keeps everything in one place! I also love that it creates a really clean flow for our service. As a musician, it makes it easy to add any resources we need for our rehearsal. Adding youtube videos and charts makes practice go smoothly. It's also nice to see who has confirmed. Cons I haven't tried, but I don't know if there are any notifications directly related to the software. I do get a lot of emails as reminders, and that can be a little annoying. January 15, 2019 5.0 Pros I'm a volunteer that uses both the Services and Music Stand products at church. It's so easy to plan services, people, and resources for our worship team. The Music Stand app works great and the best thing I love is the ability to change a key on the fly. Cons There's really not anything I don't like about it. It is the best software out there for planning a service. I absolutely recommend to anyone with the budget to afford it. Pros Planning Center Online or PCO is the best software when it comes to planning your workship service. It hosts all the information you need, the song files, media files, personnel scheduler and so much more all on a simple, beautiful, easy to use website and app. Cons It is the best software but it is very expensive compared to some similar programs. January 15, 2018 5.0 Streamlines team management to a significant degree. Pros It makes it so much easier to schedule and coordinate teams than it would be without this program. As the head of one of our church's volunteer teams it is so helpful to provide a way for volunteers to block out dates they are not available and to see when you are scheduling volunteers who served most recently instead of having to keep a separate document to make sure people are not over-utilized. Cons The difference in interface between the online version and the app version sometimes makes it confusing to remember how to access a certain function on one when you're used to doing it on the other. Critical software for my role as an administrator. Pros The ease of scheduling volunteers has been beyond helpful. Keeping track of teams, events, serving requests is extremely valuable and we could not accomplish our events without the software. Cons The inability to send notifications to specific individuals rather than an entire team can be problematic when we need just one specific team member at a rehearsal. November 14, 2017 5.0 The reminders are the biggest benefit. It's so easy to see what my responsibilities are without having to wonder or search. Pros The software allows for visibility into who will be in charge of each role and the order of the service. I love the reminder feature - the software pushes notifications / reminders about practices & what needs to get accomplished for a successful service. Cons I think it would be helpful if the software allowed us to message directly via the software to open communication (or at least to provide contact info). The software allows for sign-up for activities, building / administering groups, and maintaining a church calendar. Members can be added to groups from an existing database as well as independently by group leaders. The software is easy to use. Cons The software does not block different individuals from performing the same function at the same time, so an individual can spend time making updates only to find they are not accepted because someone else has already made changes. " January 27, 2021 4.0 Overall, it did what we needed it to do, but I wouldn't recommend it for smaller operations. I'd also hate to see the onboarding costs in terms of time and money to get it fully working on a larger scale. It was nice to have scheduling in one easy place. Pros Planning center was able to keep everything in one very easy to reach location. All of our information was stored there as well as contact for teams and scheduling. It was nice to be able to also share information and documents through the app. Cons The program is confusing on both the web portal and the application. It was hard to set up administrators to do the things they needed, and the service was lacking in terms of support. It always felt like we were just on our own when it came to learning about the program or what we could do. The answer almost always seemed to be "go to youtube to try to figure it out." The user interface needs cleaned up greatly! Navigating on the app from week to week and through teams is tedious, especially when you are scheduling out far in advance.
