### "I've used TimeSolv, first as an agency employee and then as an owner, since 2002. It's indispensable"

March 22, 2018

5.0

Accurate time-keeping; minimal time spent keeping time; professional, accurate reports that are easy to customize and easy to prepare; superb flexibility in setting up projects and making time entries; credibility with our clients (our invoices are never questioned, which contributes to maintaining excellent client relationships); too many more to list.

Pros

We are a fee-for-service organization, so time-keeping is essential. TimeSolv reduces the time we spend keeping track of client service time. Additionally, it allows us to create accurate work statements and analytical tools, literally in seconds. Our clients appreciate the reports as much as we do. And in rare instances of client non-payment, we have been praised by attorneys and judges for our superb record-keeping. Our marketing agency depends on TimeSolv.

Cons

Because the application has such deep functionality, there is a learning curve for administrators and new users. Each new user needs to receive training and will likely have many questions. But TimeSolv has excellent telephone training, tutorials, and customer support. Any function-rich software application is going to require training, so we don't see this as a downside.

It has been a good experience. They were helpful in setting up the program and in answering questions along the way.

Pros

It is easy to use and gives great overall view of a month's time and billing.

### "EXCEPTIONAL"

July 1, 2024

EXCEPTIONAL IN ALL REGARDS. There was a learning curve (as with all new systems), and I am continuing to learn, but \[sensitive content hidden\] have been with us every step of the way...from setting up our invoices to integrations with QuickBooks. The program itself is also very intuitive, which makes errors easy to avoid. For our firm (small-4 members) and needs, the reports are excellent, and easily enable us to gather all information we need each month.

Pros

Ease of use and EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. We have been with TimeSolv for appx. 1 year after using a different system for decades. While all customer service is exceptional, \[sensitive content hidden\] have been our primary go-tos for all questions. WONDERFUL experience.

Cons

No cons....much better than our prior program.

### "Love this legal billing program!"

August 26, 2023

5.0

Excellent!!! See ratings

Pros

I used to use TimeSlips and would have so many frustrations and errors when sending bills. This system has been a dream for the last 5+ years. It is easy to use (I am not a techy but was able to set it up by myself), simple to input time, and tracking and invoice reviews are a cinch. Love this billing program!!! And the price is insanely reasonable!! Most of all, the customer service is the best in the business. We just miss \[sensitive content hidden\]!

Cons

\-It does not flag past due invoices like TimeSlips did (over 30, 60 etc), so I wouldn't know if I didn't look- There have been glitches with trying to input multiple email addresses for receiving the invoices- Sometimes payments do not show on the invoice. Don't know why. They are recorded but not reflected- When you duplicate a flat rate, it zeroes out the price so we have inadvertently not billed someone for something due to this- We can't figure out how to work the annual billing auto feature for renewals on certain services

Reason for choosing TimeSolv Legal Billing

Streamlined, could be a novice in tech and still set it up since sole proprietor, ease of use, price was reasonable

### "Best Legal Billing Software We Have Used"

August 21, 2023

5.0

Overall we are very happy with the software. When we have had any issues, the support department has been very responsive and easy to work with.

Pros

The interfaces for time and expense entries are very easy to use. Being able to access the software from anywhere makes it very attractive when we are traveling out of the area for legal matters.

Cons

It would be nice to have a greater ability to modify the invoice templates.

Reason for choosing TimeSolv Legal Billing

Ease of interface, price and reviews from others.

### "Small law firm usage"

November 10, 2023

3.0

frustrating. The report function is critical to how partners are compensated, but not being able to confirm amounts makes it all suspect. Support is not very helpful in this area.

Pros

Inputting time, after some fits and starts, is reasonably straightforward and invoicing is good. We used Timeslips before converting and Timesolv is fine

Cons

Getting meaningful reports is nearly impossible. When I run a report I need to verify the numbers - typically running a different report that should tie-in. They don't tie-in and the support is inadequate. I am told it is because they are different data points, but nowhere is there an explanation. And there are elements that don't make sense, at least to me. For instance, if a client pays a bill which is for more than one matter, each allocation shows the whole check amount and then the allocation. Fine, but why would one need a total of the same check counted multiple times? If a client pays $5,000 and it gets allocated to two matters, the payment total for the client shows $10,000. A cash receipts report shows credit memos as a receipt, which is added to the total received. Last I looked, a credit memo was not a cash item. I also see some payments being counted twice. No one can explain to me why.

Switched from

[Sage Timeslips](https://www.capterra.com/p/114210/Sage-Timeslips/)

The cost of Timeslips for multiple users inputting time remotely is high. It is also very complex, mostly not needed functions. We were assured that Timesolv would suit our needs better, but unfortunately no. We did not need broad case management, so wanted a stand alone product. Timesolv had good reviews.

Absolutely wonderful. Recommend this billing software to many. Have actually had a firm that I used to work for switch to this because I told them I liked it so much.

Pros

User friendly and the help features. Also, the companies customer service is beyond amazing. I know if I have any issues all i have to do is send an email and I will get a response almost immediately to set up a zoom call to make sure my questions or concerns are fully answered.

Cons

The having to allocate payments. I always forget to do that.

### "Quite impressed; simple to use timekeeping, billing, and invoicing platform."

March 18, 2022

5.0

Very satisfied and impressed overall. It is very easy to send out invoices in formats that are customized for each client. Customization options are far more powerful than in other products I considered. We did not want (or want to pay for) a full-scope practice management product that incidentally offered timekeeping and invoicing functions. As a dedicated timekeeping, invoicing, and payments platform, TimeSolv is far more robust. The impetus for our firm's switching from Timeslips to TimeSolv was that our paralegal who acted as our billing clerk left. TimeSolv has been so easy to use that we decided not to replace him.

Pros

Ability to format, edit, and customize bills is much stronger than in the alternatives I looked at. Timekeeping is easy and intuitive to use -- I rolled it out to some real technophobes, and they started using it immediately without complaints. The billing and payment features are far more robust than what I have seen in the billing modules of full-scope practice management systems. Live customer support is fantastic, enthusiastic, and free.

Cons

Conversion from Timeslips wasn't painful, but it required more manual cleanup than I would have liked. Would have been much cleaner to set up clients and matters in TimeSolv rather than trying to import. When something looks wrong on an invoice, it takes some effort to figure out whether it is the global, client, or matter-specific settings that need to be corrected. There are very powerful customization features, but they are frequently hidden in a myriad of settings menus. Setting up the initial synchronization with QuickBooks was clunky. I could not have figured it out on my own, though it was easy to get to get live help. The fact you have to use a separate program for synchronization is an irritant.

Reason for choosing TimeSolv Legal Billing

Price and ease of use. We decided we did not need (or want to pay for) full practice management software. Of the dedicated timekeeping and invoicing platforms, TimeSolv was the most powerful and easiest to customize, and its price was close to the cheapest.

We were using an old, but paid for version of Timeslips that Sage no longer supported (Timeslips 2015). Upgrading to the newer version would have been far more expensive. TimeSolv is also far, far easier to use than Timeslips, which has always been something of a nightmare.

### "Life saver"

January 8, 2020

5.0

Pros

Very easy to use -- with the mobile app, there is no excuse for not reporting time. The best customer service ever. This software and the correlating service has saved me so much time and stress in getting my bills out timely. I wish I would have done it sooner.

Cons

So far, haven't found anything that I don't like.

Switched from

Timeslips was more than functional, but it was left to me to do my billing every month unless I hired someone specifically for that role. As a small firm, I didn't want to incur that overhead. TimeSolv is the perfect fit. It's like having an in-house bookkeeper without having the extra burden of employee overhead.

### "Fullfills my Needs"

I have only been using the program for 3 months of billing. I expect that over time I will tweak it to work better for me.

Pros

It had more options of similar programs for customizing the bill formate.

Cons

It has lots of options. I have not explored all of them. I expect to in the future and tweak the program to work better for me. On the con side, so may options make it difficult to set up in the first instance.

### "Worth the change"

October 2, 2019

4.0

Our whole process goes so much more smoothly. We used to have to review paper invoices and because the program is so intuitive, our attorneys can review and send invoices at their own convenience.

Pros

We just switched our law firm over to TimeSolv from a much more archaic system and are so glad we did. It's very intuitive so everyone learned the system extremely quickly (even our oldest and least technologically savvy attorneys) and our billing process goes so much more quickly and easily than it previously did. Definitely worth the switch.

Cons

Every once in awhile there's a function that we need that TimeSolv doesn't have yet. But when that happens, customer service has given us workarounds and seems to be taking our feedback and actively working on solutions.

### "Amazing improvement in our legal billing practices with TimeSolv!"

June 2, 2022

5.0

TimeSolv Billing is so easy to use. Billing is quicker and easier and thus saves time and money! We are very very happy with TimeSolve Billing.

Pros

We used another time keeping software for 17 years. TimeSolv is so easy to learn and us for time and expense tracking and billing. Each user has access to client information so that they can answer questions and make sure that time and expenses are tracked daily and accurately and that the firm is paid on time. It's just a breeze to learn and use. And the "chat" feature is responsive and helpful and has guided us each stpe of the way.

Cons

We also use TimeSolvPay. We like the feature and it's really quite fine. I wish that clients automatically received an email receipt when they pay online (you have to manually send one) and I wish there was a way to save the client's card details for ease of future payments.

### "6 month review"

August 21, 2023

4.0

Having an affordable real-time billing system and accepting payments through this system is exactly what we needed. I do like that the matters are broken out so the attorneys can see how much time was invested per matter.

Pros

The price was what attracted me to TS in the beginning. I like how the billing statements break out each matter into individual billing sections. \[sensitive content hidden\] in customer service has been exceptional for my office coordinator to work with in addressing issues we have run into. We have utilized the training videos on numerous occasions and that is a very helpful resource. I like the layout of the financial analytics.

Cons

There are aspects of the software that do not fit our need such as giving a credit for prepaid time at the end of the statement. It seems there have been several occasions where my office coordinator has had to figure out "work arounds". I would like to be able to change font sizes on invoices.

### "TimeSolv gets it done"

August 21, 2023

5.0

Compared to other systems that I have used, TimeSolv is head and shoulders above the rest at this time.

Pros

The ease of creating new clients and matters is very beneficial. If work has been started on a new client and the matter is not yet opened, we have the option of using a generic matter until the new client is added and the matter is active.

Cons

There are some necessary steps that are counter-intuitive and therefore, mistakes happen when creating new client matters. Also, it would be great if the system could track the close of the last billing cycle. We close billing at odd times toward month-end, and it is difficult to remember where the new billing cycle begins.

### "Great Product"

August 21, 2023

5.0

It has been very user friendly, we have been using the product for 1 year and have found it to be a wonderful product.

Pros

I really like how easy it is to add clients, time, and expenses. The Help section is a great feature that I have found very helpful.

Cons

The only thing that I have noticed that is a small nuisance is that when I add a new person to our system (attorney, paralegal, etc..) When I have set up different fees for certain matters, their rates does not automatically adjust and so we don't always notice the difference until we are billing, if we catch it at all which can be an issue if we are billing at the wrong rate.

Very satisfied with TimeSolv. Much simpler getting bills out, tracking payments, and monitoring firm productivity.

Pros

Easy integration into small practice of 3 attorneys; transition was great and received a lot of support from TimeSolv. Billing is simple and convenient. Also appreciate the ability to easily track productivity and matter progress. Also, customer support with any questions has been outstanding. ### "MyCase to TimeSolv"

August 13, 2020

3.0

The law firm I work for just made the switch from MyCase to TimeSolv. So far, however, I've been unimpressed. Before I continue listing the pros and cons, I have to mention our initial experience with porting data over from our prior software, MyCase. The TimeSolv sales rep we corresponded with initially represented that they would port all of our case data over from MyCase to TimeSolv, but, after we signed on, we were informed that they could only migrate "active" cases. Skip ahead a few weeks and now they tell us that they can only migrate data that we provide to them in CSV format, which means we have to either generate those reports ourselves or manually re-input everything. This is coupled with the fact that what cases they did migrate didn't include contact information for case parties and some were improperly indexed.

Pros

\-TimeSync. TimeSolv's desktop timing app lets you keep several timers open at the same time. MyCase only allows three at any given time. -Quickbooks integration. -Detailed billing reports. Appears more robust than MyCase. -Dedicated "Help" button which provides tutorials for TimeSolv.

Cons

\- Unintuitive. The UI is very clunky compared to any other legal software I've used. Just to setup an invoice and to process a payment requires navigating three different tabs. Compare this to MyCase where you can access almost aspect of the software from your dashboard. - Technical limitations/glitches. On multiple occasions, I've had to log out and back in to TimeSolv in order to see new cases or time entries added by other users. For whatever reason, said entries wouldn't sync until I manually logged off. - Important features not accessible on all account levels. Most of the helpful reports that you can generate with TimeSolv are not accessible unless you have an admin level account.

### "TimeSolv saves time!"

March 25, 2020

5.0

Overall, TimeSolv has saved a lot of time in tracking billable hours, tracking productivity, tracking expenses, and creating and sending invoices. It also captures a lot of billable hours that were not accounted for before using TimeSolv.

Pros

I like TimeSolv's competitive pricing, ease of use, simple and intuitive interface, and helpful online guides compared to other programs. I also like that TimeSolv offers a lot of online training & support, and has a phone app. They also have a 30-day trial so that users are given sufficient time to try out the software versus competitors who only have a 7-day trial. If you need extra time, contact customer support and they can give you an extra week if you're unsure or stuck between two potential products.

Cons

I wish there were more customization options for the appearance of the invoice, such as the font type, font size, and the ability to move sections around on the invoice. I would also like to see an invoice template for a simple flat fee arrangement, instead of the complicated procedure they have now.

Reason for choosing TimeSolv Legal Billing

Simple and intuitive interface, pricing and ease of use.

### "\[SENSETIVE CONTENT\] at TimeSolv ROCKS!"

August 26, 2021

5.0

Although we've used TimeSolv Professional, we recently had the need for LEDES billing. TimeSolv Legal was just the answer. And, \[SENSETIVE CONTENT\] was so helpful getting things set up and then took the time to show me how to use the new features that come with the Legal software package. Thank You \[SENSETIVE CONTENT\]!!!

Pros

Easy to use! And if I have questions, customer service is amazing.

Cons

So far I have not found any cons to mention.
