We have tried RocketMatter, ActionStep, Practice Panther, but none compare to the functions available in this software, and the training and support we have received is exceptional. Pros They show your target billing for time and collection in a beautiful bar graph or line graph right on the dashboard. You can create easy shortcuts for repetitive entires, and copy entries while adjusting details. It is very fast to load. It also has features to help track commissions to pay and trust account balances. There are numerous options for reports that help managers track performance. Pros TimeSolv completely changed our billing process from a cumbersome system to any easy to use system. Tracking time and expenses requires just a couple of clicks. Customer service is excellent. " February 5, 2019 5.0 TimeSolv is a much more efficient way to track your billing and client index. We used to use Excel until using this software and it is way more user-friendly in the sense that you do not need any codes to calculate your formulas! You just put in your time and the minimum retainer amount owed and Timesolv does the work for you! Pros The ease and access of generating and sending invoices to clients automatically when their retainer drops below the minimum allowed for their account. Also love the Timer feature so you can accurately account for the time spent on a clients case. Cons Sometimes the invoices can be hard to read the way they are organized. Review Source CM Connie M. I have used many other Time Entry/Billing platforms, but this is by far the most user friendly. Pros It is convenient and I can manipulate my client invoices to fit their individual needs. I love the time entry timer toggle - so compact on my desktop instead of leaving a webpage open to bog down my system! Cons I wish there was a darker variance in color, to indicate which entry you are clicking on in Invoices. Bookkeeper Law Practice Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "I Love TimeSolv" May 7, 2021 5.0 Pros Time Entries: The ease of entering time entries, the use of the timer so it can keep time for you, being able to duplicate entries with one click, and easily able to move entries to another date. Invoicing: So easy to create Draft Invoices, and the ability to re-sort the entries in any order using order numbers, how easy it is to simultaneously create LEDES invoices to upload to 3rd Party Billing Systems. Payments: They make it so easy to enter payments, and apply them. I love how you can download most of the Reports in Excel format, so you can sort/work with the numbers any way you need/want to. Everything about TimeSolv makes it a pleasure to use! Cons There are just a few Reports I wish they had, but we have the ability to make suggestions. General Counsel Packaging and Containers Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "In-House counsel at Small Company" March 19, 2019 5.0 Pros I practiced for over 20 years at large and small law firms with various time-keeping software packages. When I became General Counsel at my current relatively small company, I considered those firm-centered software packages far too expensive to use to track my time internally. Fortunately, a friend suggested TimeSolv. After a month-long trial period, I was hooked. For a very reasonable price, the TimeSolv package allows me to easily and accurately track my time. Now when I or my stake-holders want to examine how I'm spending my time and how my company is distributing our legal resources, the answers are right at our fingertips. The many pre-formatted reports save me the trouble of defining output formats. Instead, I select one of the (well-designed) existing formats, push a few buttons, and -- boom! -- there it is. Frankly, I wish we'd had this software at some of my previous firms, it's so easy to use. It seems to do everything that I recall ever doing with other time-keeping packages, too. I recommend highly. Cons My foremost suggestion (a minor one) would be to have the iPhone-based app automatically update my account, rather than forcing me to push the "Synch" button to make that happen. You can track your billable hours and budget in real time, so this is a definitely good perk of this software. Case management features are amazing and its tools to help organize and store data too. The software is very complete, it has billing functions, invoicing and it works with LawPay (bill online). It also integrates with QBooks... this is INCREDIBLE. Director of Section Services Legal Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "TimeSolv for the Legal Services industry" June 24, 2020 5.0 After we created several client/projects in the software, it was very easy to track what projects were worked on and for how long. You could also make a note with each time entry to give distinction to what you did on the project at that time. This could allow you to both see how much time is directed to a certain client/project, but also to distinguish what aspect of the project was taking the most time. Pros The software is very easy to use and track. You can easily add a new time entry if you knew how long you had worked on something, or you can use the timer feature that allows you to add an entry and then begin the timer. It would round up to the nearest 15 minute increment, which made for easy time keeping. Cons If I had the timer feature on and forgot to stop the timer at the end of the day, I would log in the next day and the timer would have ran all night, so I didn't know how long I actually worked on that project for, leading me to estimate. When starting off, we tried a handful of other programs. Not fun having to learn them only to find out they aren't easy to use or don't have everything we needed. TimeSolv is simple, easy, and I enjoy working in it. Pros TimeSolv is such an easy program to use. With a few clicks of a button, you can open a new file, multiple matters, SPLIT-BILLING (which is amazing), print reports, add payments, and send invoices. It is truly so easy to learn and use. Cons The only con for me is that I wish I could customize the invoices just a bit more. It's already great but there are a couple things I would tweak. Review Source eW ellyse W. Paralegal Law Practice Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Better than PCLaw" February 4, 2020 4.0 Solid overall. Easy and quick to use. Pros Simple, streamlined look makes it easy to enter time. There isn't a ton of extraneous info filling the page like there often is in other billing software. Easy to edit old time entries. From a user perspective, it's definitely more intuitive than PCLaw. Cons When clicking an older date to review entries, the loading times are a bit longer than I'd like. Also, the "Start Timer" tool is a little finicky, and I often think I've turned it on when I actually haven't. I don't usually save an entry/draft the description until I'm done working on the corresponding assignment, but even though I've checked the "Start Timer" box it does not register until I've saved the entry. It would be great if the "Start Timer" tool worked immediately so that, once I've finished an assignment and save the entry, the time registers (rather than having to create the entry, check start timer box, save, and then edit the entry to add my description later). For the purpose, it is extremely easy to use. Pros Compared with other legal billing software programs (which also have case management features), Timesolv is a no-nonsense, cloud-based legal billing software. Cons Sometimes, it is clumsy to generate reports (i.e., running a report of all time spent on a particular case for particular members of the firm) Reason for choosing TimeSolv Legal Billing Price, and no need for added case management features of other products like MyCase. I am also able to create invoices in the LEDES1998B that my largest client requires. Pros It is easy to use and understand. It creates excellent invoices and reports that I can provide when requested. Receipts can be entered on my mobile phone while I'm on the go that saves time later. Cons All issues have been address by TimeSolv and fixed. I have no complaints at this time. Reason for choosing TimeSolv Legal Billing Easy of use and the ability to configure to my business. Training new users for our law firm has gone quickly because the software is not hard for beginners to figure out and is very intuitive. I also love that you can enter time from the application which makes it easy to record time when I am away for a meeting or traveling for a client. Any time I have had a question or needed further explanation on how to do something the Timesolv support staff has been very quick to respond and take care of the issue. I have used this software for nearly six years and don't plan on changing. The format for entering time is quick and intuitive. Cons There are a few things about how the bills print out, relating to how balances and payments are shown, that are not that clear to the clients and sometimes raise questions. It is extremely user friends with many features that make entering your simple fast and simple. I was on other time entry systems previous and TimeSolv is by far my favorite! It has an app to help keep track of your time on the go! Cons I would love easier ways to see budget on the user side. I am not an admin so I really have to dig to find a report that provides a summary of what is left of a budget on a specific task.
