Tradepoint 360 has a number of good points once you get to understand the system, but is let down by an abysmal lack of instructions of how to use the system and support which can take over 12 months to answer some questions. Fairly basic questions such as how to reconcile end of year accounts and an explanation how to use the report designer for generating customized invoices, order forms etc. simply do not get answered. It has the appearance of being a two-man company with a programmer based in Pakistan. if there are indeed any more people in the company, it seems they can never be contacted by either phone or e-mail. Account reconciliation is not particularly robust as it only reconciles external statements with posts to the relevant account and does not reconcile to the opening or closing balance of these accounts within Tradepoint. Although you can generate a lot of reports, many of these are much more complicated than what is often wanted. For example it seems impossible to generate a simple report which summarizes sales of all products or categories of products over a specific time period. With some procedures such as purchasing or drop ship sales, you also have to be very careful in the order in which these are conducted. The combining of customer deposits into the same account as prepayments made to suppliers is also rather strange. The shopping cart interface is generally quite good and has a good degree of customization but again attempting to make slight changes to the shopping cart operation or in fact discover how to make such simple changes as removing one variety of product from the sale which may be part of a entire range seems to be either too difficult or not possible, as requests to customer support remain unanswered. Inventory control needs careful monitoring to ensure that certain transactions that have been carried out do not cause any unintended stock movements. CRM functions are adequate although not as good as a fully featured CRM suite
