Pros: Simple navigation of the software makes for smooth integration of work. The program has a good support in case you need.

Cons: Tabs within software can a bit more descriptive to avoid confusion. Email aspect of product can use some fine tunning.

Pros: The software overall is simple to use, not bulky or cumbersome which made it easy to implement into our daily operations, also the Mobile app is amazingly simple and easy which actually encourages our foremen and project managers to use it onsite.

Cons: Overall I cannot think of anything that I can say that I dislike. some of the back end settings can be a little tricky to find but support is always quick to help with that.

Overall: Clarity and overall organization. Open communication between the field and office.

Amazing product. uSUB has helped us become extremely organized.

Pros: Customer support is top notch. Training was intuitive and integration was seamless. Keeping track of submittals, RFI's and change orders all on one platform is a game changer for us. We've never been more organized. The mobile app works perfectly and is easy to use. Using eSUB for job costing has also made life easy.

We are running a more efficient business since implementing eSUB in our day to day operations.

Pros: One of the most convenient aspects of eSUB is having everything in one place. Before eSUB we were tracking jobs by saved folders on a shared drive. With eSUB everything is one place. Everyone from project management to accounting is much happier since our implementation. We are more profitable and able to serve our clients better with eSUB.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Simple, but the customer support is what really made it easy. Without them i may be struggling with esub!

Cons: The price. It is expensive. Or at least, expensive enough where our company isnt interested in getting the scheduling add.

It's been very informative and all questions answered.

Pros: What I love the most is the ease of use of the ESUB software. It was very simple to learn, which makes it simpler to use. Training and support were top notch. I got answers to questions almost immediately. ESub tech support has been outstanding .

Overall: Benefits are endless but most importantly we now have document control.

I've had a wonderful experience using eSUB.

Pros: The thing I like the most about eSUB is the way it's designed. I feel like the system offers just about everything that I could ever need or want. My trainer has been extremely helpful in this learning experience. He is well spoken and gives instruction in a way that is easy to understand and comprehend. Customer support executive was wonderful in offering their assistance for anything that I may need.

Comments: It appears they are always striving to make the program better by listening to our input. Thank you eSUB for a great new tool for our business.

Pros: Easy flow. Live updates. Can go as deep as you want in areas, or just basic inputs if that is all you are seeking in that area. Customer service has been fantastic. If the product is unable to provide requested information they are able to tell you that, and even help find ways to work around the issue and find a fix.

Cons: We were hoping for more of a long range scheduling feature. Similar to a gantt chart view. We were told some things by our sales person that were not 100% correct. Our customer service person was able to help fill in those gaps for us.

Helped get our project management team more organized and start projects better prepared.

Pros: The creation and tracking of submittals, RFIs, and change orders has been a game changer in how organized we are from the start of projects to the close out. It allows all our project management team to see what has been done to date on a project from anywhere without having to carry a large project notebook with them. The recent API integration with Plangrid has made RFI creation easier and more professional looking.

Cons: Branding consistency. The forms and letters it outputs are branded with our logo but it would be great to be able to input a signature into the emails that it sends out from the system.

Overall: Tracking and organization of different documents required for each project.

eSub is very easy to use and has just about everything that you could want in a software product

Comments: The customer service/ support is amazing. Overall everything you might want in a system is already there. The few things needed to customize it for your company can usually get done. Our foremen, who may not have much computer experience out in the field, have easily gotten accustomed to it as well.

Pros: The ease of use- even for computer illiterate people. There is not much more that you could ask for especially for subcontractors. Most of the software out there is for general contractors.

Cons: We do some things differently and have had to wait a little while to get a few things changed to our way of doing them.

Amazing software, works perfectly for our construction industry!

Pros: Software really works well for busy companies needing to track data. It has many functions that allow you to coordinate with subs, gcs and owners and track change orders

Cons: The learning curb for this takes about 2 weeks, the data entry is a bit dazzling, but I think any software like this would require the same.

I am using eSUB on daily basis. Very user friendly software.

Pros: I use this software on daily basis. eSUB have changed our project management activities so much. We are now more organized and well structured, all thanks to eSUB.

Cons: The templates if can be redesign as per client's requests. We made some suggestions but still not been considered.

Pros: You can access it form everywhere and all the time. Very easy to generate reports and keep tracking all the data.

Cons: Is like you have all in your pocket. All the documents you can upload and have easy access. Easy to track milestones.

Comments: eSUB is an interesting product for sub-contractors. It overall works very well but it has lots of controls that many sub-contractors who have not used construction management software may not like. I personally think that the controls are fantastic but some people find them a waste of time and tedous.

Pros: Great controls, tracks emails effectively, strong field app.

Cons: Lacks flexibility.

Comments: I used eSub as a project engineer on many projects and found that keeping track of change orders was very useful. The program helped remind me if I hadn't submitted a change order and also notified me once the owner received and signed the change order. It's also very helpful in the sense that you can submit RFIs and it helps organize responses within the same RFI.

Pros: A complete project management tool. From the 1st question to the final change order.

Cons: It's a bit pricey but well worth the money if used for a medium to large company.

Recommendations to other buyers: When purchasing make sure to know how many employees you will have using the program. I believe there is a "per user" cost.

Comments: I'm a project supervisor for an industrial electrical company. I work on the road 2 weeks at a time. My project manager manages from the office. ESub has helped us communicate RFI's, track hours, seperate quoted work vs 'extras'. We have no issues with it

Pros: Automatic timecard populating

Cons: Downloaded the app but haven't been able to get it to work on my phone which would be handy because I don't always have WiFi for my laptop in the field

Pros: The support is outstanding in the ease-of-use and training to the men in the field takes no time at all. The cloud-based use of purchase orders project management correspondence etc. has mainstreamed our business or we will never be looking for products or events again .

Cons: The quality on the field note photographs are sometimes skewed or stretched, we like to use them for social media so if this could ever be fixed that would be helpful .

Pros: The best thing with eSUB is their Professional feedback, responsiveness, Cooperation in Updating Required Formats according to your project requirements and gives access to your projects tracking and information anywhere in real time.

Cons: Nothing to say, they are very cooperative they will work with you.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would say communicate with their support, check how responsive and helpful they are, request for a demo, schedule a online training, ask as many question as you have and see how effective their feedback is then select their software and start using it with your team and ask for developing the interface based on your requirement. I believe your will find eSUB team efficient and productive to your company.

It is easy to use and navigate and is good for any start-up/ small company.

Comments: I really enjoy the submittal logs and how submittals are set up & sent. I also like the option/ space to upload needed documents to the specific project and then you can upload general documents to the company space.
Also really like the letters, i.e. requests for CAD drawings. Those are really nice and come in handy.
The one con we have is the Pay App function, that doesn't seem to give as much detail as our customers would like. So we didn't really use any of the accounting functions.

Pros: What I love most is that I no longer have to chase after guys in the field for daily reports etc. They love the voice dictation, that alone has made reporting for them way easier than manually filling out the daily at the end of a long day. All of our users love it.

Cons: I found the time keeping portion a little confusing at first, but I've got the hang of it now.

Recommendations to other buyers: I believe the software makes our office more efficient because everything is in one place, accessible from anywhere, so many things can be done on the fly in the field, meaning we are capturing a lot of information right when it happens or is needed, without always having to be in the office. Job costing is more comprehensive. Time keeping is easier.

Comments: eSub provides a great cloud-based solution that meets all of our project management and project tracking needs. As a subcontractor, it was nice to finally find a software solution that is tailored to the needs of subs and our work flow. It is easy to use and it has been easily adopted by all of our users, both in the office and in the field. I find that it covers all of the processes of a subcontracting workflow simply, but it is not simplistic. It is a sophisticated piece of software that has increased our internal efficiency and our external "appearance" to our clients.

The only small complaint I've had so far with this software is the inability to share some common project submittal information between old and new projects, but this would be a great extra, not a deal killer at all. We have been very happy with eSub's continued enhancements and their technical support staff is very helpful and very easy to get a hold of. I'd rate their support team among the best that I've encountered over the years.

If you are a subcontracting firm looking for project management/project tracking software, eSub provides a great solution and is a great value for the price. I'd highly recommend it.

Pros: Easy to update and review Daily Reports. The app is a nice update to the product. I really enjoy the fact of having the contacts easily accessible without having to save all to my phone contact list.

Cons: File Structure layout. Needs a little work on the short cuts to documents.

Pros: It allows me to automatically update my information needed to perform my job more effectively.

Cons: I do not like it automatically selecting my employees while entering payroll using my iPhone 6

Recommendations to other buyers: if a mistake is made while doing payroll I would like to have the option to correct it before it automatically saves and sends me to the primary screen

Pros: It is definitely more tailored to specialty contractors. Other products had way to many options and huge on-boarding work. It is user friendly enough not to scare some of the technophobes.

Cons: It needs more default options. On some repetitive tasks like purchase orders you have to enter fields from a drop down that never or rarely change.

Comments: Customer service has been helpful. Some fixes are able to be done quickly and others take time. Patience and a good explanation of our needs aid in both sides working together. Follow up emails are very important to us.

Only con I've seen is the site does have some difficulty pulling up drawings as it takes longer than another software.

Comments: Keeps my team informed and updated at all times. Use it for time & material tracking. works great with the change order and submittal process. We use a lot to communicate with our clients and the system keeps everything as records. best thing really is that tech support is always available and ready to help. Love the system so far!!!

Comments: eSub is the best software that I have found to organize a projects documents, events, costs and time. It makes it very easy to look back at a project's history, find old information, and run reports. The interface needs a little work to be more streamlined but I have noticed changes being made over time for the better.

It has been a good experience and helpful in keeping track of our work.

Comments: The pros are having the ability to track work on a daily basis, and being able to link documents to everything., such as submittals, change orders, etc.

The cons are some of the reports are hard to read, and the time card system is not user friendly and can be time consuming.

Pros: The way it's tailored towards sub-contractors is a plus. A lot of other software solutions are geared towards GC's. The ability to share information is great, office and field are both synced. Makes you adapt one method of creating and maintaining documents is a plus.

Cons: Their tech support is helpful but the resolutions is always "we'll let our developer look at it and we'll get back to you" which in my experience can take several weeks. There is no ticketing system for the items I've submitted that are issues. It's up to me to remind them that i have outstanding issues and to get the status on them. In the amount of time we have been using the software, we've experienced more than the expected amount of issues. We've experience two times where the system was "down" which is pretty much unacceptable if this software solution is the to be the lifeline of your document system. We were told that the software is customize-able and while that is true in some aspects, it's not completely true. I've inquired about customization and I'm having a hard time getting it rolling.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would run and complete a project before implementing it company wide.

Pros: Using eSUB has streamlined several of our daily tasks and cut down the timeframe to do those.

Cons: Little things - some bugs in custom documents we have had made. Also some of the documents we would use regularly are not that easily edited and saved without some sort of "copy and paste". The drawings and submittals portions seem somewhat complicated - seems like that could be simplified. We have had some trouble with getting emails named correctly so they go straight to the specific project correspondence inboxes instead of the unresolved emails. If there were more editing options with emails that would be nice. We are still trying to find the best way to have emails organized.

Recommendations to other buyers: Use it early and often. Get into it right away and develop some in-house practices for what and how things get organized within eSUB.

Pros: The ability to export to Microsoft excel.

Cons: On every update some changes that makes it a little more tedious, for example the cost code drop menu got smaller in the purchase order form and time entry form. the P/O log needs to show the description of the item for easy view and search.

Recommendations to other buyers: the program should be more user friendly. Like easier way to update hours in your budget when adding change orders and run custom reports.

Pros: The simplicity of Esub is one of the best aspects, the repetitive nature of the system allows anyone to pick it up easily. The tracking and logging of submittals, RFIs, change orders is great. In using other project management systems, they tend to over complicate the interface where as Esub is straight forward and easy to use. Within the system the ability to attach files and use the emailing "@esubdocs" allows all aspects of the project to be documented within the system so that everything you need is all one place. Recently we have started to build our database for cha nge orders and manpower which has allowed us to use the system for logging and tracking of outstanding, approved and voided CORs which allows us to keep track of everything, which is especially helpful on larger projects where we have up to 50 CORs.

Cons: One aspect we would like to change is the fact that we cannot erase if there is an error made in the submission, we understand the reason, however it would be a nice option if the admin of the system could erase. Another component that we do not use is the drawings logging section, it is too cluttered, we keep track of the drawings through the submissions, which works great for us.

Recommendations to other buyers: One thing to look at is the size of the company and the volume. If the size is too large, you can easily find that the system becomes too cluttered, especially on frequently used logs and modules. If they aren't kept up to date you can lose track of everything, rendering the logs available useless. If you are going to get the system, you need to buy into it and keep everything up to date to keep the logs current so you can know exactly where you are at with your projects.

Pros: The biggest pro to the eSUB software is their interlinked system between daily reports, time cards, and project labor tracking. It is simple enough for the new computer/iPad users in the industry to pick up quickly and realize the wealth of information that can be used from the program.

Cons: There are some issues with the flow of the dashboard/ interface, but over all it is ok. Rather than pages for lists/ logs, I think a "scrollable" page would be faster and more streamlined.

Recommendations to other buyers: It will save you time and money in the long run with integrating multiple tasks into one function.

Pros: eSub is very user friendly and really geared to subcontractors rather than General contractors

Cons: It is hard to customize some of the things the way we'd like to, and you can't upload an excel file, for example and update it inside eSub.

Recommendations to other buyers: Go through the demo. Compare it to the others- especially if you are a subcontractor

Pros: It tracks the labor from daily reports well. The change order portion is nice also.

Cons: The way to add people to project. You can be into making a RFI or submittal and then you realize a person is not in the distribution list and you have to back out and go somewhere to add them. There needs to be a way to add a recipient in process.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try to navigate through everything you find valuable to see how it works for you.

This software is perfect for a subcontractor. Helps keep projects organized.

Comments: Pros:
-easy to use
- streamlines project management by reducing hefty admin time spent creating documents such as: purchase orders, rfi's, sub agreements, change orders, quick memos , etc
-allows for more timely contract responsiveness to our customers
-makes creating submittals a breeze
- produces excellent daily reports for manpower by cost code that are easy to download
- excellent cost tracking by cost code and issues
-excellent project overview
-excellent customer service, very responsive with follow through
-easy to train new users

Cons:
-contact management can be a little burdensome with all the clicking required. You learn quickly to setup the project correctly from the beginning with all pertinent contacts. The contact will already be added in the main contact log but not assigned to that specific project unless that project is 'clicked' for that contact. This resulted in a few new ESub users thinking those contacts weren't in the main contact log yet and they added them, creating duplicates. You do get the hang of this and your preparation will be self-appreciatied down the line.
-this one is a pro and a con depending on how you use this software: you really can't fully delete anything. For example: If you enter the wrong date on a daily report (auto dates for current date) you cannot go back to change later so better get it right the first time. This could be simplified by requiring an entry instead of auto fill maybe? You also cannot delete that report and start new. We add notes to the internal notes "work date was actually xx/xx" so that it will show up on a multiple daily report.
-the outgoing emails from the website for some reason often get filtered by spam filters and end up sitting in the recipients junk folders. This is quickly resolved by a follow up to the vendor or customer via phone or email to confirm which is common practice. Also, this is probably typical of any web based software outbound emails.

All and all I use it just about every day and I would highly recommend it. Once you are trained and used to the system; it's fantastic. Definitely allows our company to operate much more efficiently than before we had ESub!!

Comments: On the PO's if the lines were shaded different colors it would eliminate some mistakes from our suppliers.
I worked with you guys o n trying to make the PO writing better and faster and you did help me speed up the process but I wish we could expand on it.

Pros: I like all of the pre-written responses that I can send out to contractors and others when there are issues with the job. This saves time and also fixes the chances of miscommunications.

Cons: I wish the product synced with our estimating software better. We are currently working with eSUB to solve some of these problems, so hopefully it will improve and make it even easier to work with.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would say that it is important to use the software for a couple of different jobs so that you can see what all areas work well with your type of work and which areas could use some improvement. Sometimes you do not ever think of a feature until the time comes that you have to do something and then wish that there was an easier way of doing it.

Pros: There are a lot of possibilities. I see the full benefit of the product; however, we are only using it limitedly. There needs to be a startup / training wheels version to ease users into the software. It could be a simple, scaled-down version. With the amount of work I do, only large projects will be worth taking the time to put into the software.

Cons: The menu keys are confusing to me. The tutorials are good, but my company has only assigned the PM/Estimators with using the software. It would be nice if the options we aren't using weren't there. If our foremen aren't using the product, we don't need to see the daily report stuff. It would be neat if the unused icons could be hidden and then incorporated. It is somewhat like a buffet; I don't know which icons are useful, but there is a lot of stuff to choose from.

Recommendations to other buyers: This seems to be a good product, but the transition takes time. You need to go all in so all of the benefits can be reaped.

Pros: I like how we can use it for each job and keep them separate. All of the info and contacts you need are in the job folder. It really simplifies things.

Cons: The initial setup can get lengthy. That's really not a huge problem. As with any new job, the setup is long.

Pros: eSub has helped our business stay organized and have all project data in one location. It keeps all documents and correspondence in one location for a project so it can be easily accessed any where. From project start up to closeouts, it allows everything to be tracked and easily referenced.

Cons: There is nothing that we really don't like about this service. It has exceed our expectations in what we were looking for.

Pros: The webinar training has been informative without doing "information overload." The training was well-thought-out and segmented in a logical way. My initial knee jerk reaction is very positive. It seems to be well-thought-out as a product with all of the tools we need as PMs without being cluttered with a lot of useless tools simply for the sake of appearing more advanced. I'm very impressed so far.

Cons: I do not really have an opinion on the vendor, pros or cons. Beyond the webinar training, I have not had any interaction with them. As for the eSub product itself, I really have not had the opportunity to work extensively in the software. The only things that I personally have run into is the inability to do submittals inside the software as opposed to importing them. This is not a big deal and ultimately may be the best way to deal with it. Another item that was encountered yesterday was in the change order feature. A lot of entities have there own forms to be used for breakdowns of change request. There will need to be a way to import that into the change order file.

Recommendations to other buyers: I don't really have any. Most of my experience has been using Excel spreadsheets for PO's and change order logs. This allows us to have a standardized way of doing things company wide.

Pros: Allows tracking of project elements that are normally cumbersome to track during the course of a project.

Cons: It is not user-friendly. It is difficult to use because each project requires setup time, and a lot of the information that remains the same across jobs isn't carried over.

Pros: I enjoy the standardized forms and all of the tables for tracking dates and cost. The tables are easy to read and make it easy to keep up with everything in a very organized manner.

Cons: The thing I like least is that there aren't any good ways to customize databases to each project manager/estimator. In a company as large as FL Crane, we have several different offices and even more PM/estimators, and having to filter through everyone's contacts and vendors during the job setup process can be cumbersome.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look at things such as accessibility and make sure you are getting something that you can actually use in your day to day operations. I was part of the team for my company that looked into several different products like eSUB. We found a few products out there that are not web-based, which makes them difficult to access because you usually have to be at a desktop on a secure network. Products such as these also seemed dated and difficult to use. The other type of product we ran into was a web-based product that was geared only to general contractors. The problem with this type of product was there were tons of functions that a subcontractor would never need or use. These products were also not efficient in exchanging files and information. They were set up to store files for download or to allow information to be viewed but not shared.

It seems like it is going to be useful when we get the hang of it.

Pros: A couple great things about eSub is that it is tailored to subcontractors and the way we do business and it handles our needs really well. Many software packages try to be all things to all people. Conversely, eSub has chosen their target market - subcontractors - and has delivered a product that serves this market well. The program is-well thought-out, intuitive and easy to use. As a result, we have seen a marked increase in the tracking and logging of our projects by our project managers and superintendents. That's a big, big plus.

Cons: I cannot say anything negative about the vendor. eSub had delivered all that they promised, and I would rate their tech support group as top-notch; better than most by far. So far, I've made only two enhancement recommendations: a) a more seamless way to handle pay apps and b) the ability to copy submittals from one project to another. The pay application and submittal modules work well, but could be better with these two suggestions.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are a subcontractor in need of document control and project tracking, give this software a serious look. Ask all the tough questions. I believe you'll find that you'll get honest answers. And, if you decide to purchase this product, I believe eSub will stand behind what they promised, just as they have for RSI. Again, if you are a subcontractor, compare this product with other vendors in the project management/document control market space. I think you'll find that eSub is truly the only provider that is tailored to subcontracting. That was the primary reason we selected eSub.

Pros: The cloud-based system is definitely something we needed to move towards. Given the options available, I would say eSUB is as trade-specific as we were going to find.

Cons: It's not as convenient as storing and saving to my computer yet.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you understand just how different your process will be (once you switch over) when it comes to saving and storing/organizing your information. The sales pitch is very good, but be sure to ask plenty of questions.

Pros: The software is very easy to use and gives you control of your projects, and the customer support is the best I have encountered.

Cons: It still needs some work with being able to manipulate loaded documents among subfolders.

Recommendations to other buyers: Set up a team for implementation, and start small with project management before venturing into the full benefits. Try a project out first before going headlong into it, as it will make it a lot smoother and help with change management by highlighting the benefits and ease of use to your employees.
