Vice President Used the software for: ### "eSub delivers a quality product that is easy to use and meets all of our needs." July 17, 2015 5.0 eSub provides a great cloud-based solution that meets all of our project management and project tracking needs. As a subcontractor, it was nice to finally find a software solution that is tailored to the needs of subs and our work flow. It is easy to use and it has been easily adopted by all of our users, both in the office and in the field. I find that it covers all of the processes of a subcontracting workflow simply, but it is not simplistic. It is a sophisticated piece of software that has increased our internal efficiency and our external "appearance" to our clients. The only small complaint I've had so far with this software is the inability to share some common project submittal information between old and new projects, but this would be a great extra, not a deal killer at all. We have been very happy with eSub's continued enhancements and their technical support staff is very helpful and very easy to get a hold of. I'd rate their support team among the best that I've encountered over the years. If you are a subcontracting firm looking for project management/project tracking software, eSub provides a great solution and is a great value for the price. I'd highly recommend it. It used to take forever to open Timecard Management or wouldn't open at all and I was having to manually enter payroll, but now I don't have that problem. Pros The export feature so time doesn't have to be manually entered in our Payroll system Cons I have to open each and every single job each week to save the Daily Reports and to know what jobs need to be included to export and it takes quite a bit of time. We even attended the bootcamp, which really helped a couple of our team members become more comfortable with the software. I would encourage every subcontractor that purchases eSUB to send a representative or two from to it. Pros The ease of use and how it really dialed in our document control. Our daily reports are standardized now, our PO's can be monitored by our Purchaser and Accounts Payable, our Change Orders are easier to read, and equipment is tracked now. We are able to forecast labor and hold the team to it since hours are always current. eSUB has been very beneficial to our team. Cons Some of the formats or layouts we didn't like right away, but those have improved through the years and should really look great in the next version of eSUB. It has a visual graphic to represent hours used versus budget Cons Phases are not listed numerically, along with many other things where it would make sense. Unable to copy an employees timecard over from the previous week- or hold a default timecard that you could fill in - with an appearance like an excel sheet which would save a lot of time for entry. Unable to export phases for time keeping- which causes manual entry at the end. Everything has to be manually entered. Pros I use this for our construction documents for our field crew. RFI's and Submittals are easily processed by all of the team and tracking is easy and efficient. Better than the software is the support behind it. Our Project Manager,\[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] , goes above and beyond to let us know upcoming features, where to get answers and how to teach users to be effective with its information. Cons Understanding where users are pulled from for the submittal/RFI process from the project information. A contact is anyone who receives documents or correspondence from eSUB (like a superintendent, engineer, or vendor). Pros It has helped us as an organization keep track of our projects better. The submittal tracking is great so we can stay on top of when submittals are late from GC. Cons There are some processes that we do that do not translate easily to Esub. Not being able to update plans similar to Plangrid. Reason for choosing eSUB It was geared more towards subcontractors. I am hoping for a better user interface, more features and more customizable features in 2.0 Pros Organizing, submitting and tracking submittals, RFIs and CORs. The PO module is also very convenient, but should be more customizable. Cons It would take too long to get into specific details but there needs to be more ability to customize. Pros Job summary page is a good tool if you are tied into accounting. I feel it is efficient in the field to add photos and track time lost. But again, daily reports are usually done through Procore because that is the GC platform and what they want used. It automatically adds the cover page to submittals which was nice. Cons Most GCs use Procore or plan grid so using the submittal aspect of Esub is pointless since they need to uploaded through another platform and tracked through that. Also since this is not an accounting platform any COs and POs needed to also be entered through accounting - duplicating the process - inefficient. Review Source HV Hugo V.
