### "I can not do my job without Magazine Manager."

I love Magazine Manager. I used at another publishing group and recommended to my current employee which they are happy we have in place.

Pros

I used Magazine Manager with a previous employee. My success as a top revenue producer was thanks to Magazine Manager. It keep my organized so I could service my clients needs and allowed me to have the time to prospect for new business.

Cons

I do not have any con's. I have no con's I recommended Magazine Manger to my current employer and we are using it.

It was build for publishing and had all the tools build in place.

### "The Magazine Manager connects the dots"

The support is exceptional. Conversion is always a huge task and overwhelming, but the MM team is patient and walked us through every step, often more than once.

Pros

MM integrates all the disconnected silos of information and data we struggled with for years - CRM, sales and order data, accounting, invoicing, prospecting lists, newsletter and print magazine production data, email marketing, newsletter publishing. We know that the information is real-time. I no longer have to ask someone if a certain spreadsheet is up-to-date (and we had dozens).

Cons

Mirabel has an aggressive plan to continuously update the software features, but the priorities of the majority of users, which drive the development schedule, are not always ours. For example, the power of Custom Fields is underutilized because they cannot be batch updated by the user (without submitting a ticket), nor can they be used as variables in mail merge.

### "You won't regret it!"

I have been very satisfied w/ Magazine Manager; the program, reaching and tracking support has improved immensely; training availability and said category for training can be suited for individual needs.

Pros

They are making it so you can have one program that does the job of many. It's my CRM, it's my task manager, it handles my email marketing, keeps me informed of my team's progress; helps w/ me a/r; which has saved our company time and money in getting rid of programs no longer needed, reaching a larger client base and in staying on top of our collections. They offer regular training not just on their crm but sales trainings by their team as well as outsiders, like \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. They are constantly improving their system;

Cons

That I can't make groups on the fly; that invoices can't reference an ad name; that we can't track when a client open's an email. however, when I come up with these instances these can either provide me with a work around or they are in the midst of solving that issue.

As a publishing company, it is assumed that you have 2 basic kinds of products: Print & Digital. We have a 3rd - Shows. We just put it under print, but its short sighted that there are only those 2 basic types of products. Also - We have Co-op dealer ads that we had to come up with our own solution to figure out how to do the insertions & how to bill. This is not a new thing. There should be a simple solution for it built in. Cest la vie. Also, the process of importing our old data was clunky & not explained clearly. It was eventually done right, but sometimes it felt like the data import team & the team that sold us MM weren't on the same page. And finally - it seemed backwards to me that Accounting was the last group to be trained & it was after the sales & production teams had gone live. Nothing should have gone live until everyone was trained. Just my personal observation.

Pros

I love that you can easily keep track of all the ways you contact a client & don't have to copy & paste emails into comments. I also love the simplification of the process of getting ads in & processed. I also love that I can access it anywhere.

Cons

Because of the way we track some things, we have had to create a lot of custom reports. The reports are a little clunky in the printing process, both our custom reports & the built in reports. Its absurd to me that there's not a button (that I've found) you can click that totals the report at the bottom. The "print with totals" button that is in the built in reports includes totals from EVERYTHING. Including all other publications, instead of just the report I'm interested in. What I've ended up doing is exporting it to excell & summing it up, then printing it myself. That being said, if folks in our organization could get away from their need for printed reports, or took the time to figure out how to run reports themselves, the reporting system is fine. The other "con" of ths software is just that it is so expansive. If you take the time to learn to use it, its amazing. Some of the folks at our organization have embraced it & it is a wonderful tool for them. Others just don't want to do something different & will never be happy with change. The continual "well in the old system we could do this" gets really old after 6 months.

We are marketing our publication products to our CRM base, and are able to create automated workflows to save time. Not only for advertising, but also to manage our subscriptions. Marketing manger has been extremely effective. Their Customer service and training is also wonderful with a daily live chat feature too.

Pros

The customer service is the best I have experienced. Magazine has may features that allow you to operate your business all from within one system

Cons

Some features are missing, specifically on the production alerts. However, Magazine Manager is extremely responsive to feature requests, and my hope is that these features will be added in the future.

Great. I also like that I have the option to work with a consultant at anytime. The Help chat for immediate answers is great too.

Pros

It helps me organize the sales, and production of every issue. I use it to track potential advertisers for each issue. As well as understanding past advertiser's behaviour.

Cons

There are so many features that are available and so little time to set up the system to your advantage. Almost every time I watch a webinar there is a new tool/trick to using the system better.

We are effectively able to utilize Magazine Manager from sales to production to editorial to distribution to accounting...a complete game changer!

Pros

CRM and order management is our top use of . We have been able to setup the product to meet our specific company structure. The one-on-one attention from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] team is second to none!

Cons

\[SENSITIVE CONTENT\]is constantly working to improve integrations with other platforms. The Gmail plugin has made the software much easier to use since implementation. There are a few other minor issues for which we have submitted work tickets, and the support team is great to work through our issues and requests.

There's no better software out there for the money. We all love Magazine Manager.

Pros

For our industry, Magazine Manager understands our needs and its functionality encompasses every circumstance. It's one piece of software that is as robust as we need it to be, yet user friendly enough that onboarding new employees takes a brief introduction. It is intuitive for the user. We can format all the products we sell whether they be various magazine titles/issues; event sponsorships, or special sections, they're easily set up and implemented through our sales team. Reporting for management is a click or two away to keep up with Year over Year pacing. Magazine Manager listens to the clients when there's a need to enhance their product and they update on a regular basis. Our accountant uses QuickBooks integration to handle billing through the software. That makes collections and A/R reports easy for the sales team to monitor as they are paid on collections. It's everything we need to be successful.

Cons

I believe there is a component that we do not have currently that helps with marketing to your client base to make that easier for the sales team (as in mass emails, etc.). We use work-arounds, but it could be easier.

I am delighted although there are a few upgrades I'd like to see.

Pros

As a publisher, Mag Mgr offers comprehensive oversight of the entire magazine manufacturing process, and management tools to keep track of crucial activities daily.

Cons

There are so many moving parts which also means so much to learn, we're only utilizing 1/3 of its potential. Being a longtime user, there once was a way to keep up with my staff and know when they signed on and off daily.

Very good, There's still a lot I don't know about Magazine Manager but am very excited that they make it so easy to learn, customer support is also great.

Pros

Magazine Manager allows multiple people to communicate within notes and calls and keeps a record for us, when your'e making many calls it's easy to forget what happened with each one a week later, but Magazine Manger keeps all your notes and everyone else's right there. The production module is critical for us to keep track of everyones status.

Cons

I don't really see a con withing magazine manager. They send us emails constantly with updates and options to join classes and read or listen to everything new going on within the website.

I've been involved in magazine ad sales for over 25 years. We've used several different software systems during that time, but none of them handled all the functions required by our business. MM is clearly the best magazine publishing software we've used and the first to fully integrate all the necessary components into one seamless package.

Pros

There's a relatively short learning curve, but just having all the relevant info on a client or prospect at your fingertips is what I like the most, followed by the search and filtering capabilities that make it easy to drill down into the data and analyze it in so many different ways.

Cons

A minor quibble -- sometimes we are unable to delete an advertiser or agency record.

We really created several efficiencies that allowed our team more time for other tasks.

Pros

The most impactful part of Magazine Manager is the "all-in-one" aspect of the software. We are able to manage our clients from lead status all the way to invoicing and most importantly, everything in between.

Cons

We feel that there could be better integration with our website and social channels, from a marketing point of view.

### "Crucial for my business"

We've been using this software for well over 9 years, longer than I've been at the company. The customer service and training is most excellent and always has been. They are constantly rolling out improvements to their product. I can't remember what other software we looked at a few years ago, but they were more expensive and not as functional.

Pros

The way it is customized for the publishing world. No other software has compared, especially in the billing piece.

Cons

I wish the workflow between orders, creating invoices, and sending the invoices would flow a little better. Overall not bad, though!

Pros

Magazine manager allows me to keep organized with all of my tasks. Future calls scheduled meetings. These features help me tremendously with my daily workflow and time management. What I like best for each contact entered, I can go to notes and activity and enter or review what was discussed last.

Cons

What I like least about magazine manager is that there are too many ways to search for a contact. This leads to multiple entries of the same business. This has caused confusion and controversy between other sales reps.

Regarding your request for a report to show all receipts - the Transaction Report (under your Accounts Receivable Reports tab) allows you to see all money invoiced and received during a time period of your choosing, and you can even filter by Company, Business Unit, and Product. Great system. Talked with others who struggle with their CRM and if there are issues, someone is always there to help you through it. Great IT support!

Pros

Ease of working in the system. Reports are readily available and easy to download. Invoicing and receivables are easy to complete and track in the system.

Cons

Initial set up of products was a bit confusing, but after you do a few it is pretty easy.

I have been using Magazine Manager since 2008 and over many years I have seen it grow in many areas always with helping the customer's needs.

Pros

The customer service response is great and always responds with easy-to-understand instructions and explanations to whatever the problem is.

Cons

Not having a way to do a search according to phone number when trying to find a customer in the database.

The two most impactful services we use within the software are the customizable reports and the invoicing. We use the reports on a daily and monthly schedule. Both has been helpful in keeping our business organized.

Cons

I'd like to be able to incorporate the production studio in our work. It has been a little difficult to work with but we are optimistic.

The absolute number one thing that has been a blessing is the people who work at Magazine Manager from the Ownership down to their Account Managers everyone has been very accessible, patient, and easy to work with. They truly have taken the time to understand how we have operated for over 40 years and adapted their system to ours.

Cons

The main cons I can think of have already been addressed or are currently being addressed with their continued product updates.

### "Reliabilty"

I used the word reliable because that is what Magazine Manager is! I don't even think about the software I am using, it is part of my workday...I don't give it a second thought. I know what it is to work with a company that has systems problems and that is a nightmare. All around good experience

Pros

The software is very reliable. Keeps me organized. The format is easy to read. If there is ever a problem, they are very attentive to our needs. They are continuously updating their software to stay on top of the needs of their clients. They send you notices that the update has occurred and a tutorial on how it works. They invest in their clients by offering tutorials to their users and offer seminars from an outside consultant to help improve sales goals. Overall, it is a very good system. We have work with other companies and I think this one works.

Cons

I wish there was a reminder that I put together a Proposal and didn't click it over to a Contract. I forget sometimes and would like to be notified in some way or I am not familiar with how to identify that I haven't switched it over.

Select your name in the dropdown as the rep and choose "no" in the "proposals converted to contracts" field or search by date range. During the pandemic, Magazine Manager offered six months at no charge to kick the tires on some of the new updates and modules. The tech staff are awesome to work with and have been a huge help to get the most from software. I wish this would become permanent part of the money service.

Pros

is tailored to our industry and they are always looking for ways to get more from the data so I can make informed decisions on the progress of our publications. With the CRM, billing, and production modules everyone uses the same software making it much easier for everyone to do their job.

Cons

With any software updates, the changes sometimes get confusing, and takes time to change the way you do things. Since they love making their products more valuable, the updates sometimes can be overwhelming at first.

Over all it is very good. I would like a faster turn-a-round when I do a ticket, but doesn't everyone want things NOW.

Pros

I do like that we have hours of free training or assistance. The ease of using the system is very logical. Logical is GREAT - in a system like this - having too many options of ways to do the same things gets confusing and MM does a good job of "less is best"! Not less quality but less options on how to do a task.

Cons

There seems to be some things we have asked for that we are told cannot be done - removing contact names if the contact name has ever been associated with a contract. I get why - but we have asked for a button to make it show inactive so we don't have it on a drop down. Also the dates stay in the publication lists and they start with the oldest so if I am adding new or adjusting a date in 2021 - I have to scroll all the way from the oldest to the newest - and do this every time - it should start over where I left off.
