“Great software for service management”

OverallBetter management of our service department.
ProsFirst and foremost, it is integrated with our Dynamics GP software which is a must for us. It also does very well all parts of service management : Service calls, Service contracts, ...
ConsSome components (such as mobile workers) can become very expensive. With the Dynamics GP integration, it is a complex solution which takes knowledgeable people to deploy and maintain.

“ two sides of the same coin for KEY2ACT”

ProsKEY2ACT functionality for Job Cost Accounting and Field Service Managemernt is robust overall and it's integration with Dynamics GP is a plus.
ConsKEY2ACT Consultants are a hit or a miss. you don't know if you have a good one until it is too late. Even though the functionality is overall robust it is still limit in addressing industry specific needs. These industry specific needs often require expensive customization with the product.
Recommendations to other buyersAsk Industry specific questions and request a consultant to be on your demo and not just the sales person. Request a thorough discovery and analysis session in the beginning of the project not towards the end.

“Key2Act, formerly Wennsoft, has an ok GP based product but this is on their CRM product - which is not good”

OverallThis unfortunately gave Dynamics CRM a bad name which is does not deserve. It truly comes down to the partner and this one and the solutions cannot be trusted.
ProsKey2Act used to be a great standup firm that would stand behind it's product, provide solid solutions and be visionairy. When they transitioned to Key2Act and changed ownership, it changed the culture and product dramatically.
ConsSince changing to Key2Act, we turned off the CRM based solution not only because they could not code or support it any longer but also, they completely lost interest. Gone are the phrases of being a partner and doing this together and only, how much is our budget to do anything. They have become very disappointed and from the others on the same product, have abandoned and removed it aswell.

“Integration of job cost module and MS Great Plains.”

ProsTightly integrates job modules to Great Plains as well as mobile products that are not part of the Microsoft GP package. Service packs, hot fixes and tiered support levels are fast and effective. This vendor works well with their client base.
ConsThis vendor has went through a few organizational changes in the past several years.
Recommendations to other buyersEvaluate software to make sure it integrates tightly within your technology stack bust most of all make certain customer/client support is excellent. Look at support cost with the service provided. Every company has a different way to implement technology and customer service during and after an installation should be a key factor. Get a good feel for the service you will get when deciding on the product and vendor of choice.

“Easy to use!”

ProsThe software is fairly intuitive and easy to use. We have had this product for over 8 years now and the employees at KEY2ACT are like family.
ConsIn most recent years, the software releases seemed to be rushed and while adding features, seemed to be to the detriment of other features. They have since been purchased by a company that has helped them to refocus the product - a major plus!
Recommendations to other buyersThe employees as Key2Act are very knowledgeable about their software. While no software will meet 100% of your needs, this one met >80% of ours.

“WennSoft Product Review”

ProsWennSoft is very dedicated to their clients. You are able to have dialog and influence on how they develop the product for end users.
ConsOccasionally, it can be a challenge getting a resource for support. WennSoft has committed significant resources and money to eliminate this concern.
Recommendations to other buyersYou should focus on how the software works, and you can adapt your business processes to fit within the software out of the box or with some configuration. If you customize the software to fit your current processes, it is expensive to maintain and a challenge each time you upgrade.

ConsThe product is very inflexible - we can't change billing rates once an invoice is posted... on a cost plus job, we can change the billing amounts at invoice time...
