However, I can expect to have calculation issues roughly every other year or so. Pros The ease of entering assets into FAP, click process or calculating, and the ease of exporting data as needed. Cons There have been several instances in which FAP does not calculate depreciation correctly. We have to wait on the correct update in order to get accurate reporting. " August 6, 2024 4.0 Fixed Asset Pro is good software for small to medium-sized businesses with assets under 1000. It's very easy for a beginner to learn and use. Pros What I liked most about Fixed Asset Pro was how easy it made keeping track of things. Instead of dealing with a bunch of confusing spreadsheets, it was like having a helper that always knew where everything was and reminded me about important stuff. Plus, it’s very cost effective, which saved a lot of headaches and money. Cons My least favorite thing about Fixed Asset Pro is that sometimes the numbers on the screen don't match what we download. It's also a bit slow for the number of assets we have. But since we only use it once a month, it doesn't bother us too much. Pros Fixed Asset Pro is easy to use and reminds me of fixed asset software that I used when I was in public accounting. User friendly and I have always been responded to immediately when I have a had a question. Cons When adding a new asset, occasionally it will revert to the first asset listed in the Multi-Book Asset Entry tab. Waiting a second or two will bring it back to the new asset. Pros I like that we can do multiple companies in the system. Cons I have had a lot of issues with FAP. We can't seem to get it to calculate correctly especially after we make any changes. Cons Sometimes it can be a bit hard and not as intuitive to use. I had trouble in the beginning to generate a report how I wanted, and the customer service kept saying I was doing it wrong, when what happened is that the software didn’t update when I first logged in. Also, scrolling from the pages of the reports created is not that user friendly, you can’t simply scroll down. Allowed me to discover a number of assets the prior accountant dud not properly report and to go back and amend the returns to report the correct depreciation Pros Ability to calculate multiple years of depreciation using different methods, than recalculating the depreciation with a new method with minimal input Cons There was an issue with bonus and section 179, however technical support was able to provide me with a work around until they could resolve the issue. We have gone back and forth with the service rep a few times and it is still not fixed. I no longer have confidence in the accuracy of the program.
