The cost is minimal for what you get. It’s easy to use. You can share your project easily. Pros I like the ease of use with Smartdraw. The tools are similar to other drawing and design software, which I am familiar with, so learning how to design a accurate floor plan, add furniture and appliances, add doors and windows has been a breeze. Cons I would have liked to try out the app for free a little longer than 7 days but I get it. I created a design I wanted to share with my builder, but had to pay for the entry level version. The simplicity and ease of use saved valuable time in putting together a layout for our staff. Pros The best thing about SmartDraw is its ease of use. I’m not experienced in CAD, but was able to learn and use the program to put together a shop layout with dimensions and icons representing each shop machine. All of it was intuitive without needing a broad tutorial to use. Cons The only thing I had difficulty with was making symbols display at a specific dimension. Most icons were either slightly larger or smaller than what they really were. Cons A lot of the times I couldn't find the exact furniture I wanted to place in the space. But, still a learning curve. Tech support has always been prompt. I do prefer to talk to someone versus sending emails. Pros The ease of use for middle school students. I give them a brief introduction and show them where to find certain tools, but that's about it. Some likely don't even need that much. The desktop looks like other programs they use which makes it really easy for them. Cons I would like it to have a 3D option when working with floorplans. I would like to have that progression for my students. I would also like to have a feature that allows me to crop around the images. Being able to have multiple students work on the same floorpan at the same time would be helpful.
