The plugin is very useful in this regard. It's a great tool and I enjoy using it. One click to add a project. It would be handy if you could add 8hrs by default when clicking on a project. It helps me stay organized and allows me to easily look back at the hours I've entered. Projects and tasks are listed in a clear and organized way that makes the time tracking process less tedious. Tracking time is simple and very accurate with the timer option. Pros How easy it is to enter time and keep track of progress on different projects/tasks. Sometimes, it is tricky to find the amount of hours total worked in one category, though. Pros The thing I love about Tick is that I can log hours for specific projects so the managers know how many hours are being worked on specific projects. Used the software for: ### "Simple and Works" April 18, 2017 4.0 I use Tick to track time on various projects for a fairly large development team. It's a valuable way to determine how much time is spent on which projects. If you're looking for a simple way to select a project and start a timer for that project, Tick works great. The free version is quite generous in that it still offers unlimited people - for multiple projects it gets a bit steeper but is fairly reasonable. It's worth it unless you are a very small team on a tight budget. The two main downsides in my mind are: 1. Switching between tasks is easy, but not easy enough that you can expect people to switch more than once or twice during the day - the app has a bit of lag to it, so we tend to have people working on more general categories. If you want to track smaller divisions like "I worked on X for 37 minutes, Y for 55 minutes, etc.", then it can get kind of annoying needing to switch tasks 2. Reporting isn't super intuitive - the website does have reporting functionality, but I've found it difficult to do things like "Show me how many hours I've worked excluding the Holiday category", this isn't usually a problem, but it would be nice to have some clearer data over time views Pros Simplicity in doing what it claims it does. I can seamlessly switch in between projects without missing a beat. Tick is simple and somewhat basic, but that's why I love it. It gives me all the tools I need to track my projects and manage my time. Pros The ease of use. Always reliable. Cons I wish I knew how to use the Basecamp extension. Cons I don't like how when you clock time on one day (without "entering time"), when you go back in to enter your time, your entry jumps to the current day (not the day the time was actually being clocked on). April 18, 2017 3.0 The ability for my staff to see a visual representation of project and task status and a glance has been extremely helpful for us to stay within project budgets and communicate sooner with clients when we are looking like we might go over budget. We use asana and we have been having a bit of trouble trying to figure out the best way to set up our projects so that tick and asana work well together. that integration has been ok, not great, but we are making it work. The biggest issue we have is with closing out projects to invoice for, we don't really get the tools we need to close projects and invoice clients, we wish that aspect was better. We use your product because of the visual representation of the project and task status. we would love the opportunity to schedule a phone call and talk more about our team size and needs. I know you wouldn't tailor anything specific for us, but are experience with the product could be valuable to you. I love this application. Introduced it to my company and since then used by about 100 users in my team for the last half a decade. Pros Easy to use. Amazing UX. Has an app. Recently filled tasks are great, to efficiently fill time. Export facility worked greatly to put into my historic data repository. Helped me to capture historic data for later estimations. Cons The app had some issue in entering decimal values in hours. But this a few years back. That pushed me away from it. It's a little annoying though with projects and tasks... Having it be redundant is annoying. Pros Works with Basecamp, don't have to have it open in a browser. Syncs well. Cons One feature that I liked in Toggl was the reminders to track time, and when the computer was idle, it asked if I wanted to keep or throw that time away. I find myself filling my tick Monday night for the last week, and it become just a little bit tedious to fill the tasks 1 by one. another example is with vacations filling (because we do track our vacations.) Pros You cannot ask for a simpler design. Everything is easy to reach. (I didn't have any need to search for an option yet) Cons I get myself needing to go back and forth the day before and after to see the order of things, thus, I sometime have to move stuff around.
