It is incredibly user friendly and does a great job tracking time. Pros Tick is extremely user friendly, which I think is it's best feature. Cons Tick serves every purpose we need it to. Used the software for: ### "Not doing the basics well" February 1, 2017 2.0 I feel your app is really lacking at the basic level functionality that most users repeat over and over - that is adding new reports. I often tend to forget to set the Project or Task and then am greeted with a very uninviting error output that is really hard to notice. I also only now found out how the "recents" work - this is really awesome for me and a feature I now use often, but it is very poorly explained in the UX and I was not sure how to use the feature or what it really does it. Entering time could also be done differently as I was initally very confused by your decimal notation of minutes. I enjoy the little circle that is next to the week day that tells you how much of the expected 8 hours you Ticked that day - but I sadly don't always work with 8 hour work days and it gets really confusing easily. Maybe adding an option to set the expected work length? I often feel like I need another level of categorization - for example, I often want to add "bugfixing" to the "note" section so I can later review how long bugfixing took that month. Used the software for: ### "Still a long way to go" April 18, 2017 3.0 I've been using tickspot for a number of years now and there are a few lingering issues (missing features) that making using it a pain. First, there needs to be a way to record unaccounted time, with the goal of tagging it later. Sometimes I just want to capture how long I've worked on something (with the timer function or by entering in the time) but I don't know or care to enter what task it's attached to. At present, I have resort to a notepad. Give my a placeholder bucket! Second, give me a way to pin and order most used tasks along the right side of the interface. At present, I have a list of the last few I've used but they aren't ordered in any meaningful way to me (by project code) and they're cluttered up by one off tasks. Third, give me a way to see my time entered on a timeline. E.g. I want to see that I'd worked on something from 10am to 1pm and 1:30 to 2:15. At present, my time entered is just hours and is devoid of context (no ordering of what came first of placement on a 24hr timeline). On a positive note, I've used the API to make a tickspot app for my business and really enjoyed it. It was a breeze. Keep it up! October 29, 2018 5.0 It has allowed the team to work better together, holding one another more accountable for their part in the project as well as other project teams that are integral to the larger picture. Pros I like the cloud-based system. Great for tracking projects, timelines of my colleagues as well as myself. The ease, use, and integration of all the apps are excellent, as well as the updates as things are completed (my favourite part). Pros Its great for project managers to manage time and see the projects as well as analyze metrics to see where time and resources are being utilized correctly. I used this software at a small tax firm and it was very useful for us. I book the time as a normal user in a really easy way. Friday remember is great to leave the company with everything completed. As a Project manager, the report section is great to get a general view and/or a single user report. It's easy and that's the way! Pros It's basic and easy to use, but powerful at the end. Everybody can use it, as is needed in my company. Cons Sometime the report refresh doesn't work properly so you have to come back to the beginning. It's been a great tool to keep track of time, with a few bugs here and there. I often work late into the night/morning which overlaps days. Sometimes when I'm logging these hours, they won't register and I'll have to go in manually and enter my hours. It's a minor headache all in all. It's nice to be able to just pause my work timer when I get up to take a break to stretch, exercise, eat, or whatever, and just resume the timer when I'm back at my machine. July 9, 2018 4.0 Pros In a simple word, by using tick we can tracked and budgeted our project with an idea we can calculate how much time we required or expend on projects. It also integrates with basecamp, and easy to import our project from basecamp to tick. Chrome extension is nice and can use while on the move via mobile. We used Tick and it was fine, but it felt like babysitting. Cons If you're in management and thinking about using this platform to track employee's time rather than tracking it for a projects sake, think about how it might make your employees feel. At times using this made me feel like my boss didn't trust us and we needed to prove that we were actually working. It's very easy to learn and use. We've been very happy with it and new employees pick it up very quickly. The reporting features are okay for an initial look at your data in different time segments. Before finding Tick I browsed around and even tried my own spreadsheet. This tool has stuck with me because I find it so easy to use, convenient that it is online and in app form, simple enough that I can start the time easily and customize it for coding later, AND I can export the data to analyze it as needed. I've loved having it and really being able to keep track of my time in an efficient manner. Pros Simple, quick, data can be downloaded (major plus!), the app in conjunction with the website, and my productivity is up. Cons Every now and then my entries go in to the wrong day, but it is usually an error on my end and just needs refreshing. I have been using for more than 2.5 years. It is also very user friendly. One thing I suggest is nice to have a feature where I can replicate my hours from previous week. Most of the time, they remain same. That way it can reduce the effort. But overall, I recommend it to others.
