good value time tracking at the project level

Pros

Quick and easy to use. Easy for Admin to add project categories and to choose time. Easy to retroactive fill time (if I am not that good with doing it on a daily basis!) Having the real-time timer is a helpful option too. For example, I can have Tick open on multiple tabs on my browser and have a couple of tasks going, while I can pause one and go to another if I'm juggling a lot of things.

Cons

Not much to say, it does the job. The mobile app is not that good though, last time I used it, it was only good for tracking time for the same day; going back for prior days was a huge pain... it was better to just use the mobile web page.

Ability to control working time without unnecessary effort. Simple and easy.

Pros

Tick is very simple in use. Here is always a possibility to correct mistakenly entered data. It is possible to monitor data for a week, in the coming weeks.

Cons

It would be very good if the application supported languages other than English. In particular Ukrainian.

Very straightforward and well designed. I use a chrome extension that allows Tick to sit at the top right of my browser and allows me to tick in when ever I need to.

Keeping track of hours is a huge problem and you need something ever-present to stay current but not too intrusive and Tick did this well.

Pros

Initially it was one of the only Mac-based time-tracking apps and worked well for that, including the time tracking widget which made it easy to keep up with this dreary task.

Cons

It was a bit pricey and didn't offer very many features, I found better products that did more for less.

I have been looking for a time tracking solution that syncs with Asana projects for a long time. I kept going to the Asana integration page and going through their suggested apps. It wasn't until my developer googled "Asana time tracking" that we found Tick. Although the Tick system is relatively basic, it was just what we were looking for. We live in asana, so using our tasks as the basis for tracking time was a must. We have noticed the mac extension can be a little temperamental at times (taking awhile to refresh), and (as the company owner). I also feel like the price is a little steep for a system that only tracks time (it's similar in price to Harvest which also handles billing). So being a "supplemental app" to our other tools, I would expect for the price to be lower.

Pros

Tick is pretty easy to use, in adding hours and logging them to certain projects or teams. It's also simple to add to hours and go back and forth to different projects.

Cons

It's not super user friendly, esp. when it comes to pulling a report for certain hours. To get reports with custom times, it takes a lot of adjustment and can take a decent about of time.

I hate time tracking tools, I really do. I've been through many different approaches and tools in my career and I can tell Tick is by far the simplest tool I've encountered so far. I'd like to find the option to report time in a grid-based UI and get better ways to mine the time tracking data (I'm a PM).

Tick is a very intuitive tool. Unlike many time tracking tools Tick helps both the user as well as the manager to access reports and cost centers easily. I have been using Tick for more than 6 months and it has been the best tool so far. I am able to submit my hours easily and I can generate great customized reports.

Pros

Exportable time-tracking make it easy for me to customize my monthly reports based on different client expectations.

Cons

Only the Tick administrator can add new projects into Tick, with so much going on all the time, they don't always have the time to update current project list.

Love learning about a new software!

Pros

Only in the free trial of this, however, I really like the features... even thought I'm still getting to know them all. One thing we really have to be cautious of in our line of work is not spending too much time or money on an idea of project if it's not going to bring back a reward, financially. This has helped open our eyes !

Cons

So far there is nothing that I like the least about this software, but I am still learning the ins and outs.

I prepare time reports daily and client relies on it.

Pros

At the end of the day, you would not want to sit and enter your time for each thing you did. With Tick, you can do it easily and without any efforts and waste of TIME! You would not want to use other tools and enter the time taken to prepare the time report, in the report, would you? :D Then use TICK!!

Cons

There can be a little change in the interface. I can't add add new category to show different types of work I have done in the day. More access would be good.

I use Tick on android and mac, so either input tracking (mouse, keyboard etc.) on computer application or wifi connection on the mobile app could trigger reminder at after your workday is over. Would be nice to have the option to have custom work hours. Or it would be nice to know when you have left your computer to know when you accidentally left your Tick on.

I haven't had any issues with my Tick timer. Very seldom I've experienced one issue, that is that when I open my timer when it has been running all day, it will revert back to 0:00. But it happens so infrequently I've never sent in an issue complaint, because I can usually still guess how long I was working.

I am using tickspot for very long time. The biggest advantage for me to keep track my hours and report them any time to the client. So i don't get any delays to get my payments. System is like a judge between me and my client.

Pros

Easy to use, able to reach reports anytime.

Cons

There could be a more general calendar where i can see everyday of the month. I have scroll to check this information out.

Pros

The availability of the stop watch is the best feature which I haven t seen in other time trackers till now. It allows you to record your actual time spent while you are woking on something..like a stop watch.

Cons

Tick Could be more convenient while accessing wide duration data and also during copy paste sometimes the date change doesnot occur instantaneously (case of extreme hurry)

We chose to use Tick, to better understand how our teams day was being taken up by the workload for our Partners. Tick allowed us to analyse which tasks we were spending too much time on and other areas where we could devote more. Since then we have implemented a number of schedules to better structure our day which has meant that we have been more productive in our workload. I can't really comment on the customer service as I have not had any issues which have required me to contact customer service.

Pros

The ability to design your own tasks, and sub-tasks. This allowed us to modify and optimise each task grouping according to each teams day to day running.

Cons

I would have liked to have received daily time cards rather than just a weekly update on the Friday.

The software Tick is extremely easy to use. It is easy to maneuver around to get from one place to the next.

Cons

Tick is a little boring. It would be nice to see some color. It would also be nice to have a monthly calendar instead of only being able to go back one day at a time.

Pros

Tick allows to track the time for project tasks and mark them as billable or no. This allows to check the profit from each project. I liked that Tick allows you to have your employee database incorporated. It's pretty simple to estimate the total time of a project with Tick.

Cons

The lack of some advanced analytics is something that could serve as a starting point to improve Tick.

I have found that Tick is a great product for tracking projects and time. We have the plan for 60 projects and I thought we would not use that many. I find myself closing projects to add more. Would be nice to have a higher number of projects available without having to go to the unlimited. Very easy to use and set up
