It is feature rich, easy to use, and is affordable. Checks all the boxes for what I was looking for. Highly recommend. Pros This software is very easy to use. I was able to learn how to use very quickly. It is also very applicable to what I needed it to do. The feature I like best is the Timecard. makes it easy for everyone logging their time. Cons This is a pretty solid software. Getting set up with it was a little bit tougher than I thought it was going to be. But once set up, works perfectly. Review Source Louis H. Pros We used this to keep track of employees time as well as individual time spent on a project time for a client. Cons You are unable to attribute time of one task and tie it into another task but on a same client so you have to manually add everything together. Review Source JM James M. Helps us keep track of billable hours and sub-tasks within major jobs. At first I used Tick via the web, but have since moved to using the Mac app. I love the app, but the one thing I don't like is that when a timer is running it only displays hours and minutes. I think if it displayed seconds it would be more of an indicator that you have a timer currently running. There have been numerous times I've had to switch gears, focus on something else, and forgot about my running timer. It's mostly a human error, I know, but I think some UX change (maybe a change to the white timer indicator in the status bar to a pulsing glow?) to help keep in mind that a timer is running would be great. Overall, great product! Pros Simple, user friendly with a clean design. Cons Tick Mac app could better indicate a timer is currently running. I like most they don't have any complicated system to know, easy to setup and jump on work. Layouts is great, good designed and navigation is perfect. Their customer care service ultimately responsive. Cons Nothing significant comes to mind. April 24, 2017 4.0 Have been using tick with my company IDL Worldwide for sometime now. It has proven to be a valuable tool in keeping track of our billable time. Things to consider if you haven't already implemented them. Have a calendar view along side the week view to input time. Sometimes when going back to previous entry's it becomes hard to look back at older time entry's. Also it becomes cumbersome when I need to input the same entry for multiple days simultaneously, it seems i can't do that and have to still input day by day. I would love to see an option of selecting multiple days to input time, not that it would be a massive time save in entering our time, but speed increases in entering time and further progression with ease of use is always needed! Tick is just one option for time tracking option out there. There are plenty of others. What's great about Tick, though, is the cost. Compared with any of the "bigger guys", Tick is a tremendous bargain. I also appreciate that it integrates seamlessly with Basecamp. One tiny feature that was nearly perfect was the integration with Apple Watch. Sure, it's not difficult to start or stop a project on a laptop or phone, but it's so easy to just tap your watch. Cons This is a great solution, but its simplicity might also be its downfall. It does lack some of the more complex functionality that some competitors offer. For me, I don't have any issues with this, but I know that there were some grumbles from other members of my team. Can't complain. But I really think Tick is missing an opportunity. Everyone hates entering time. We're a busy company and it's really the last thing we want to do. The process is always like pulling teeth. There's no real reason aside from the fact that daily admin work is not exactly the strong suit of creatives. But, I think what would make Tick boom is some slick gamification. When FourSquare was still a thing, people in our company used to get to work early if only to keep their mayor status. It was a competition. If you could do the same badge system for time tracking (without compromising the actual tracking of time). Your platform would sell like hotcakes. April 18, 2017 4.0 I've been using Tick for years, and it's been doing its job well. It always records time properly, and it always gives useful reports to the people who need them. The only issue that I have with it is that, now that our project and client database has grown so large over time, Tick can take 5-10 seconds to load each time it refreshes, which can get somewhat frustrating. December 31, 2019 5.0 A very simple button to start and stop, thas it. I like how simple it is to manage and track time. The report is also great. Pros I needed a time tracking to track my billable times, as some of my basic project management does not have a time tracking inbuild. Time tracking on a browser is just very good for my work. It just needs a browser from phone or pc it just workes. Tick is super friendly and simple to use and manage. The reporting features just click of a button away. The reporting helps me to get all the time into one very attractive chart to the presentation. Cons I just use this from the browser and found no issue. I think it is fine to track time with this if no inbuild time tracking is available. Please add google signup which eliminates password. Pros I like that it remembers the recent projects you tracked time on. One click and it fills in the fields to that recent project and all you do is enter in the time you spent. Pros The on-boarding info was quite thorough and helpful and requires a shift in thinking from the way other tracking apps proceed. At first I balked at being lectured to but once the different approach set in I recognized its value. The set-up was easy. Time tracked is constantly updated in the Chrome tab. Nice. I don't use Basecamp at the moment but a colleague who does let me look over her shoulder as she integrated Tick. The integration works well. Cons Tick is a one-trick pony and there are few integrations. Basecamp is a biggie and an obvious choice but I was hoping I could see how Tick integrated with Clickup which I'm evaluation now. July 11, 2018 5.0 Pros Tick is incredibly easy to set up and get using. We love the reporting and being able to export time sheets to Excel. The drill down for checking on time also made for a great dashboard type experience Cons We are also using Basecamp and the integration is clunky. If we changed a typo in the Basecamp project, it would open a whole new project in Tick. January 20, 2017 5.0 Our office has been using TICK for nearly a year now and I can honestly say, the program has greatly improved our productivity. While not a favorite task, tracking time is a must in an agency atmosphere. We enter time to ensure WE are being productive and to allow for accurate client billing. And we love that we don't even have to wait until the month is over to see how we are doing. TICK makes us tick for several reasons. We enter how much time we think we should spend on each client project, and then as time is tracked, we can instantly see our firm's monthly progress. When problems are identified mid-month, we can reallocate time within a client's project or to another client. We also like to be able to measure our team's overall productivity and individual staff member's workload or productivity. This is the only way to measure our profit and loss, and to plan for future staffing needs. One suggestion for improvement would be re: reporting. We find some of the features to be a bit clunky. It would be helpful to be able to customize reports. And running a retroactive report showing the percentage of time used, even if it was over the allotted budget, would be a nice feature. It provides me inventory, order and manufacturing management just for starters. These were three of the most important things we looked for in software when researching what to take on for a business. The tick tutorial and easy buy options were also pluses. Cons Some of it appeared quite complex and spreadsheet like with the interface but it didn't take long to look past that.
