It’s become part of my daily routine. I can see exactly where, and when, I’m being most productive and how long a given task takes.

Pros

It’s really easy to use. I love the visualisation of your tracked time and the fact they remind you if you’ve left a timer on for an extended period is really helpful for when 8 forget to turn it off.

Cons

I’d love to see more detailed stats in the app and a few more colours to add to projects would be useful too.

After using it consistently, it feels like a tool that does one thing well—tracking time—and keeps it simple. Toggl is simple, flexible, and consistent, focused on what a freelancer really needs, and it’s clear without unnecessary complications. It worked reliably for logging hours and keeping things organized, especially with multiple clients. But it doesn’t really go beyond that. When I needed more detail about what I worked on, I had to keep that somewhere else. So overall, it fits well as part of a setup, but not as a complete solution on its own.

Pros

After using it for a while, the way everything can be structured into projects, clients, and tags turned out to be quite practical. When handling multiple clients at the same time, this setup helps keep entries organized without much confusion. Tags are also more useful than expected. Grouping similar types of work made it easier to get a general sense of how time is being distributed, which becomes more helpful over time when reviewing past entries. Another strong point is how consistently it tracks time, even when the same task is split across different sessions. The data remains clean and easy to review later, which makes daily tracking and follow-ups straightforward. It’s also convenient to edit time entries later if something was missed. Since it syncs well between mobile and desktop, it’s easy to log or adjust time across devices depending on the situation. Because it relies on a manual timer, there were times in the beginning—or during busier periods—when I forgot to start it. However, being able to add or adjust entries afterward helped balance that out in practice. Additionally, I could quickly see which client or project was taking the most time at a glance, which helped me prioritize tasks during a busy week.

Cons

While the time tracking itself works well, it feels somewhat limited beyond that core function. There isn’t a strong way to add detailed context to each entry, so it mainly captures how long was spent rather than what was actually done. The reporting is clear and easy to use, but it stays focused on time data. It works well for summaries, but doesn’t go much deeper in terms of financial or operational insights. There is also a basic invoicing option, but it’s quite minimal. It doesn’t fully replace a dedicated accounting or invoicing tool, so using a separate system is still necessary in most cases.

I enjoyed Toggle Track. It was easy to use, I experienced few bugs and issues, and it provided a great value for a free software.

Pros

Toggl Track was really easy to use and a great value for money. I only required the free version, but I found it super helpful when tracking my time as a freelancer, especially in the years just starting out.

Cons

At the time, it lacked some flexibility for features in the free version that would be ideal for larger project management, but I believe these are addressed in the paid portion.

I've been using the free version of Toggl Track for years and am so grateful that I have access to such excellent functionalities for free. It's a key tool in my freelance tech stack.

Pros

Toggl makes it so easy to keep track of where my time is going each week. I love that I can easily create labels to differentiate between different clients and projects, which makes it really easy to pull reports to share with clients or to help me estimate how long certain types of projects take. This is invaluable information to have as a freelancer.

Cons

I do wish it had better notifications in place for when I leave the timer running for too long by accident. But I have been impressed by the emails I receive if I accidentally leave it running overnight. And it is really easy to modify the time manually after stopping the timer so I can adjust the end time to the best of my memory.

Over all i am using this from 8 years and i think i will keep using it as its the tool i can not replace with any other.

Pros

This is a great tool to measure the productivity of a developer of any person who is at work. I love everything about Toggl however the ease of use is the main key that i use this product everyday.

Cons

Well if i am using desktop application in Mac this have few bugs so i am using its web option. I hope Toggle will make Mac App more bug free.

I believe Toggl has the best branding & UX amongst all of its competitors. It's super easy and smooth. Their illustrations help you boost your motivation to track your time, and their analytics are quite good. Give you such helpful insights about where you should be investing more and less time.

Pros

Toggle Track was the first time tracking tool I've used. I remember receiving an email recommending this, so I tried it,t and their UX & branding was very impressive, which makes it super easy to use it with different projects and track time for each user and coworker. It has a free version (you don't pay anything) , so it's super affordable and a good value for money tool.

Cons

I remember not using it because I'm a mess and I always forgot to press the stop button when I finish (but that's not their fault)

I've tried other trackers, but this is my favorite. Having Pomodoro in app is a great way to help me focus. It's an easy to use app with really great perks.

Pros

It's extremely user friendly. Easy to use, both the app as well as the browser add-on. The possibility of setting different projects and track time for different tasks.

Pros

This software is thoughtfully made. The ease and abundant choices of reports to send to keep all in the look is a big win on accountability.

Cons

There is room for improvement on the edit process. Yes all shjould be involved-employee and approver- but give the approver edit privledges

Toggl Track has enabled me to understand the extent with which our small editorial team is spending time on reviews, revisions and administration, and workloads become more transparent with Toggl Track.

Pros

I prefer to set a timer with a single touch and also later on have clear summaries, this assists me to delegate editorial work without micromanaging the team.

Cons

I do not like the sync hiccups that will happen occasionally, and the fact that advanced permissions are restrictive when working with the various editor roles.

Overall Toggl Track is an easy and cost effect time tracking app that offers a lot of flexibility for the user.

Pros

I liked the flexibility Toggl Track offered. It was easy to add and subtract things as needed to help manage projects.

Cons

Something the app would crash which occasionally added stress to the work day. However that was a fairly rare occurrence.
