Overall, pretty weak for project schedule and resource management. Best for RAID log management - just one component of project management. The team collaboration capabilities are only fair. I think it's a great product. Pros Easy of use and ability to easily share information and keep information available to all parties - single source of truth Cons The outages and instability have impacted us a few times. Also, I better integration with importing files from Excel would be valuable for us. We have a need to schedule 200+ projects a year for street maintenance and Smartsheet helps keep us organized and informed. The sharing feature has been game changing and allows us to share outside of our department to keep others informed and updated in real time. We no longer have to print schedules daily and instead can pull everything up on phones, tablets or any computer with an internet connection. Other departments have seen our use and are adopting Smartsheet as a solution. Pros is versatile. Yes you can do SpreadSheet things, but it so much more. Highlighting cells with color based on statuses of other cells. Row specific comments. Ability to see history per cell and row holds people accountable. KanBan cards effective in work progress and productivity. Sharing single rows with outside vendors to get status updates. Cons I can't think of anything. the updates are done on off hours and have never impacted our use of the application. Reason for choosing Smartsheet I have been a long time user. It is very convenient and easy to make different filters, display or hide details, etc. Pros You can create different spreadsheets or task boards and decide how they look. Easily and quickly can configure various subtasks or events which can be marked in different colors, depending on their status. Very convenient and clear - you open the sheet and immediately notice the tasks in different colors. Cons In the latest version was changed user interface, connected with uploading files and it is not so comfortable for work. Pros I found it really smart to deal with email, file sharing, and spreadsheets in one place.No additional training is required if you are familiar with Excel with few additional functions. On retrouve les jalons dans le diagramme de GANT, on peut attribuer des étiquettes aux taches et ajouter des rappels sur le calendrier ce que les logiciels de bureau ne font pas toujours. Résultat: on maîtrise bien mieux l'avancement du projet mais aussi les différents ajouts et contributions des autres utilisateurs Cons La prise en mail un peu difficile au début quand on est habitué à tout faire sur tableurs excel. Au final le fonctionnement est assez similaire et on se débrouille assez vite lorsqu'on est à l'aise avec l'informatique. Pros I used the product mainly as a RAID log and it was sufficient in tracking action items, decisions, and risks. The feature I liked the most was the automated emailing system that could be implemented. I could simply tag individuals for specific items, and they would get an email to notify them of the item. It made communication and tracking highly efficient. Cons I used Excel a lot in the past, and I didn't like how some of the shortcuts would not function in the same way. I understand it is a different software, but when trying to delete rows or columns on the fly while I was trying to be fast and efficient when sharing my screen, control and minus would zoom out of the page rather than delete a row, cell, or column. Pros The most concise answer I could provide would be, "What doesn't it do for my business?" From project management, document control, quality and sanitation schedules, R&D and maintenance tracking, this program made my team more productive and immediate collaboration was effortless The is the first software purchase made by my company with ZERO negative feedback and immediate return on investment. Cons The constant improvements are helpful but I preferred a previous versions alert setup. It would be great if it was easier to share with customers that might not be on the same platform. We are able to see where our orders are in their production system because they update the sheets daily. It is fantastic when you are tracking several hundred orders with a supplier. Also we have numerous site locations and it enables our different sites to update where they are at with various orders in production. Pros Collaboration between ourselves and our suppliers is paramount and this enables us to do this. We have shared our sheets to people outside our organisation (such as our key suppliers) and when they make changes or update the sheets we are able to view this immediately.
