Pros A construction company I worked for used it. It allowed us all to keep track of where a job was at, assign tasks, make notes, check off when a task was complete, etc. Basically allowed us all to stay informed of the progress of a job. I would have never selected it as I prefer Trello since it is a bit more intuitive. Pros is easy to set up, share, and use. It can be set up in a Gannt chart format, or even a calendar format. Those are two positives. Cons It has a look and feel like Trello but not as eloquent. It just tires my eyes to look at it. Pros Exceptionally simple to track tasks in a spreadsheet-type layout that allows for easy customisation. Consistent support provided in the form of emails that prompted usage of existing and new features that weren't being utilised. Notifications regarding changes and due-dates worked well. Cons Very few drawbacks, apart from the interface being too simplistic at times, with equal weighting (in size and space) given to all tasks - meaning differentiation beyond highlighting the task or action was difficult. July 18, 2015 5.0 Pro's has been a good investment for our company. It offers a very robust project management tool with an intuitive and clean interface. Our customers really like the layout and simplicity of the customer portal. The importing of existing files is extremely easy and the project template functionality is first rate. The gantt chart functionality is quite impressive offering multiple task levels, multiple constraints and even color coding. Smartsheet offers a significant improvement over other PM software we have used including MS project (cost), ProjectManager.com (limited constraint management), and ViewPath (non-intuitive interface, poor support). We looked at over two dozen project management software offerings before choosing Smartsheet. This is a serious project management tool that is very hard to beat. Con's The lack of a formal Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is frankly surprising, especially considering the robust nature of Smartsheet. Our work around has been to color code the lead drill down tasks. Overall As a former heavy MS Project user, I can highly recommend Smartsheet. The system functionality is very robust, constraint management is made easy, the user support is impressive, and the interface is customer friendly. If you need a serious project management software platform that works, then Smartsheet is your pick. It has to be good, since I don't often endorse software products. There is definitely a learning curve with , as there is for many other robust products. If you take the time to familiarize yourself, though, the product will really work for you. Pros is a truly robust piece of software. If you're a fan of spreadsheets, then Smartsheet is going to be the solution to a lot of your problems. It has all the functionalities of programs like Excel, but amplified! There are so many custom column properties you can apply, and ways to view and sort your data to make it easier to digest.
