Pros I love the project planning features of Smartsheet and using it as an alternative to Excel to track and monitor simple data sets, especially when these need to be shared with multiple people. Cons Despite having many of the features of Excel, it does not have capabilities such as tabs or pivot tables within a single document. You often have to stitch multiple documents together to manipulate data which can be tricky and a hassle. I would also like it to integrate better with other products. Pros It is a cloud hosted project management, project review, project scheduling, tasking, QA/QC tool that works very easily and is very flexible. I like that I can invite others to contribute to the sheet or assign tasks to others, track items, etc. Cons Its IPAD app is not very easy to use compared to the web interface Review Source JA Jacqueline A. A solution was needed in my workplace to provide swift communication to our leadership team on negative feedback collected from customer survey calls. A customized Smartsheet template was created and is in full use in our organization. This provided a simple solution to our team. Prior to the implementation of the Smartsheet, we used email communications. This format caused delays, was time consuming, caused email congestion, and were difficult to address in a timely manner. With Smartsheet, our management team was able to develop default questions with fillable blank text boxes for the survey responses within the product. The text boxes also had ample space for all word characters needed. It also had a flagging symbol that allowed our organization to identify and escalate formal complaints to our leadership team at an eye's glance. The drop-down menu feature was utilized template with frequently used answers as weel as names of pertinent subordinate staff and their supervisors eliminating need write them out manually. The availability of these components, as well as the software's ability to transfer the data into a spreadsheet immediately after submission of the entry criteria, made the process seamless. This is clearly an excellent product. It is just what our organization needed. Pros The greatest highlight of using Smartsheet is the software's ability to swiftly transport data entered into an organized spreadsheet. Cons I liked everything about Smartsheet. Pros Smartsheet is great for client implementations. We were able to configure worksheets to meet specific implementation processes. We were also able to provide the client with the ability to update some or all of the worksheets within Smartsheet as well as create a document store for the client so we could keep track of official versions of documents. Cons I wish there was a less expensive option to allow client users access without paying the additional cost for that. The pro plan might offer more features but I'm not aware exactly how much better it would be. It might be useful if you need a simple free option for managing your own tasks but for project management with other team members and departments it's not the one. Pros It had basic project management tools that allowed different team members to provide updates on tasks. Cons It has so much less functionality that other project management tools such as Asana or Trello. It's worth mentioning our team was using the free plan with only the manager on the basic plan. Now we use it every day and it is systematic, easy to use and not expensive. The automated workflows simply save your time that you can use for other a activities now. The availability of the mobile app is very convininet for the top management overviews of the project status anytime. Communication within the project plans is thorough and easy. Smartsheet will remain our tool for a very long time, I am sure. Pros Solution to managing projects are execellent. They collect data from multiple projects into simple and useful dashboards for overview that the top managers adore. It helps us boost our PM process efficiency on a daily basis. Cons The design could be a bit more modernized. But it is not a big deal to be jonest. I have been using it since 2020 for my project tracking, daily tasks, monitor reports and so many other things and it provides a great visibility to me, my team and leadership on where we are on our projects with their timelines. Pros Love the new slick version of Smartsheet which allows me to cross function and collaborate with multiple users from different teams and also helps me set up a level-based permissions to access the sheets which I think is a great help for my business needs. Cons Some times on the filters, it doesn't fully function or filter out the wanted and unwanted data. I have not got full use from the product yet, as it offers a wide range of features that take some time to learn. Pros It is great for managing tasks, tracking progress, and collaborating across teams. Using the pre-built templates can also save a lot of time. It feels like using excel style sheets, but with much of the formatting work already done for you. Cons One of the main drawbacks of Smartsheet is its steep learning curve, especially for new users or teams unfamiliar with project management tools. However, it doesn't allow us to have 2 different font colors in the same cell like Excel has. It would be great to have this feature! Pros We use Smartsheet very heavily and I enjoy the automations and workflows. They are extremely easy to set up and have a lot of functionality. I also like that different smartsheets can interact with each other. We use Smartsheets to streamline many of our processes and allow for better collaborating between teams. However the software pushes hard to get a paid license even if unnecessary.
