Pros: The usability of the system is very good. It has great interface which every good web user could use it at ease.

Cons: It can be improved upon by adding more instructional features as to directing and providing more information as to what every step and certain functionalities entails or what it is about. This will help first time users since I was challenged a bit from beginning.

Pros: Hardly anything, although they are working on it. Parts of exam don't populate, exams don't print secondary diagnosis, prescription doesn't carry over correct information. I still don't have images in my records after two months!

Cons: At initial implementation, things were buggy and required spending valuable time getting things worked out. It is a work in progress, I guess.

Recommendations to other buyers: I'm still deciding. I would say it hasn't been a painless transition from their previous version to the cloud version.

Comments: Our practice has been established for over 55 years. It started as a small refraction and contact lens practice, and has grown now into a full scope total eye care specialist facility. We provide services to patients including two floors of eye glass frames in our eyewear gallery, contact lens referral center, specialty for post operative and Keratoconnus disease, and complete pediatric vision learning and therapy clinic. The clinic has two full time optometrists, one part time Ophthalmologist, and one part time hearing specialist. We provide a full sensory evaluation including a hearing screening in our yearly vision testing rooms. Our surgical testing includes A-Scan and B-Scan measurements, and ORB scanning for LASIK. Our glaucoma clinic is equipped with Optical Coherence Tomography, Visual Field both Frequency Doubling and Threshold Automated Perimetry, Pachymetery and High resolutions digital photography. Our Refractions are completed with full aberration measurement using an Optical Path Difference computerized refractometer, virtual eye cart, and automated phoropters. We need a software that would not only help to facilitate the information we gather during a comprehensive examination, but a software that was as dynamic in keeping up with our marketing strategies to employ and execute our mission: to provide the ultimate eye care experience using state of the art technology in a warm compassionate environment in which our patients needs come first. Eyecom3 helped us achieve this with ease. We were Eyecom2 users back in the late early 90¿s and transitioned into Eyecom2 for windows as soon as it was available in the late 90¿s. Being comfortable and secure with the team at Healthline Systems, it was a ¿no-brainer¿ to update to the web-based version, known as Eyecom3. A few short months ago we underwent a seamless transition into Eyecom3 EHR to help us prepare for the Meaningful use and PQRS requirements. The team at Healthline Systems promised to have the transition done at certain time, and I was not surprised when the task was completed several hours ahead of schedule. Web based training that makes it easy for new staff and existing to brush up their knowledge on the power of the tools in Eyecom3 are a very well welcomed feature of our on-going support with Eyecom3. Because of the efforts and organization of the company, preparing for ¿meaningful use¿ and e-scribing and PQRS have been simplified and easy for both doctors and staff to understand, replay, and brush up skills on. Electronic claims submission has facilitated our claims process with less re-submissions and quicker electronic responses, and deposits by most of all our carriers. I am looking forward to many years of working with my software company and have highly recommended the system to many of our colleagues around the country.
