Overall, CampBrain is a great system and has a great team backing it. We would have stayed with it had the pricing been better.

Pros

Great look and user interface. Simple to use and understand with tweaks available to make some tasks easier. Customer service is phenomenal and they really work with you to accomplish your goals.

Cons

It was a bit pricey for what you get compared to other software. No (current) automation for reports or other tasks, everything seems to be built around look/functionality instead of user experience. No online integration for website on the conference side. Not able to separate package pricing into accounting codes with any ease.

We love it! 10/10, 5 stars! The Camp Brain staff is always friendly and very willing to help with any issues.

Pros

We are a long-time user of Camp Brain because we find it easy to use for both our staff and for parents/guests. We really like the fact that it functions as unified database, no need to input household information into multiple platforms! Their customer support is friendly, listens well, is helpful, and is easy to reach! We also love the that they offer their own payment processing and their rates are very affordable! They also are very responsive to suggestions on ways to improve Camp Brain. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

Cons

Hmmm . . . not sure what we like the least . . . we do wish that it offered NCOA processing to update mailing addresses against the USPS address database.

### "We Love CampBrain!!"

Excellent! We started off with the desktop version and used that for a very long time. We switched to the online based version in 2020 and love it!

Pros

It is very user friendly, each to teach/learn and covers 95% of our needs. Any time we've had an issue, they promptly assist us. Their turn around time for custom reports is great. The user facing side is easy to use as well and our parents have loved the online registration. The introduction of the retreat booking portal was a game changer! Being able to send emails from the system on both sides has been great as it creates a record that everyone can see. All these features have streamlined so many processes for us and freed up time that we can use elsewhere.

Cons

There's no app for phones/tablets. A lot of reports don't run on phones/tablets, so that has made it hard to use on the go. A little more customization would be great. On the retreat side, when searching for groups, if there is a group that has been with you a long time, it's a long list of them and you have to search for the group you are looking for because it will only color code by Booking Stage and not Booking Status. If it could color code by Booking Status, I could easily create a file closed status and then I could quickly find current bookings while searching.

Price was a factor, CampBrain was affordable to us and included 95% of the features we needed. Also, we were already using the desktop version so the transition was much smoother.

We've been with CampBrain since 2012 and it's been great! They're always working towards improvements and have great customer service.

Pros

CampBrain is extremely user friendly for camp, conference, and donor modules. It has great value and I'm thankful we don't have to pay per registration. Customer Support is great and always responds in a timely manner. I love the custom reports / Ad-Hoc capabilities. Super happy with the products!

Cons

\- MUST improve that staff application custom questions with more formatting capabilities and clickable hyperlinks. Also wish we could select certain custom questions to be on the person level (and not seasonal) so volunteers wouldn't have to fill out EVERYTHING each summer (just reconfirm it). - I wish the auto-emailer was available in the conference module (without having to do the work around in the donor portal). - REALLY need a notification/email or had a dashboard for on-line group payments in the conference module. Also need the ability to automatically add a credit card processing fee to those payments in the group payment portal. - I've requested this a number of times, but it would be extremely helpful to be able to view the actual attachments in the contact log (not just the doc name). - The speed has improved since this summer's debacle, but it's still not as fast as it once was. - I wish we could text message group/conference leaders and volunteers (not just camper parents). - Still anxiously waiting for the rental interest form that automatically creates an inquiry in CB and NOTIFIES us / need dashboard. - I also would love to be able to manually adjust the order on a camper waitlist.

### "amazing registration software"

I've used CampBrain since at least 2010 in two different organizations. It was a vast improvement over the last system that I used. From day one there were great training opportunities and customer support. I love also that if there is something that I need that isn't already part of the software, the support team can build it out for me at no extra cost. Parents love the ease of registering, which makes my job easier. We use CampBrain for summer programs, after-school programs, student travel experiences, and professional development. It's very flexible. I just showed the software to a new hire. Her words were, "Oh my god, this is so much better that we're using at (her old camp)!"

Pros

It's very intuitive to set up. Customer service is excellent - honestly the best of any product that I've used in life.

Cons

I really can't think of anything that I like east.

### "Give yourself more time for the fun! "

It’s an amazing program! Takes away so much of the paper shuffling and speeds up all the redundant camp tasks. The information is always right at your fingertips. Very intuitive!

Pros

The amount of time it saves! Everything is available without searching through paper files or duplicating work. The forms and reports are all interconnected and you can pull the specific info you need from each camper with just a couple clicks. It also makes handling staff and hiring so much easier too.

Cons

I’ve been using it for almost 4 seasons now and can’t think of anything. The support Center is super helpful and so is email and phone support so problems are solved quickly when I don’t understand how to do something.

In addition to CampBrain being a great product, the online support materials and webinars are fantastic! They make things very easy to understand and provide answers to lots of questions. The support staff is phenomenal! They're are very responsive and most times have the answer immediately. On those very rare occasions when they don't, they do some research and get an answer to you very quickly. They are always very professional and courteous and it's always a pleasure talking to them!

Pros

\- CampBrain makes both camper registration and hiring staff very easy. - It's easy to use and navigation is very intuitive. - Cloning previous seasons makes setting up new seasons easier. - Establishing and modifying Payment Plans is very easy. - Families can upload required documents and the reporting and emailing functions make it easy to review status and email families needing reminders. - Doing both universal and selective email blasts are easy and I love being able to set it up to be sent out on future days and knowing it's going to happen. - The support library is very helpful. I can easily learn to do new things and get questions answered. - The Support Staff is fantastic! They're knowledgeable, very responsive, professional and courteous! - Love the user conference! I learn a lot from the sessions, chatting with the staff and meeting other users. There's a lot of flexibility in how to use CampBrain and it's always interesting to learn from others on their creative use of features.

Cons

\- There's a bit of a learning curve in mastering the use of report filters to get the information I wanted and learning to use the Ad Hoc report function.

We use it for everything, year-round at our camp. We have a very strong Campbrain user as our administrative coordinator and it has kept everything very organized.

Pros

Does almost everything we need to run camp, bookings, registration, financials, etc. It's organized very well and our staff all love using it.

Cons

Perhaps that we aren't fully utilizing all the features and everything it can do. We are sending a staff member to the CB conference to learn even more.

Overall very positive. Whenever I hit a snag with CampBrain, customer support has my back. Custom reporting is very handy, I found it easy to use, and a couple new reports significantly upgraded my camp's first aid management.

Pros

Customer support is extremely helpful and accessible. No question is too small. The webinars cover anything I would ever need and have very clear explanations and demonstrations.

Cons

My greatest issue is that emails I sent via CampBrain consistently went to the junk boxes of most recipients. Important information was being missed. I then opted to use an ad-hoc report (which was easy to make) to send mass emails manually. Frustrating but it worked. I am hoping this can be improved.

### "Camp Brain works for camps"

I have had a very positive working relationship with the Camp Brain software and the Camp Brain team.

Pros

The best aspect of Camp Brain is their fantastic support team. No software is perfect and no end-user is all-knowing. The ease of contacting their team with one phone call and getting help is priceless.

Cons

I have worked with Camp Brain software for 6+ years. In that time, there have been features that I needed/wanted that were not present. However, the development team at Camp Brain has worked and filled almost all the gaps I saw and others that I was not aware of. The primary element that I would like to see more development is a specific transportation module. The toll sexist to manage our transportation now, but they could be more straightforward.

Reason for choosing CampBrain

The positive interactions with the sales and development team. I can reach out to the CEO if I need to and get a response if I had to. An attitude of always improving soundly and not promising the world if they can't deliver it in a way that they can't be proud if.

Campbrain keeps all of our information and calendar organized in one place. it has become the main software we run our operations off of.

Pros

It pretty much does everything which is nice to have all of the information that is needed to do anything all in one place. with that being said it is still fairly easy to navigate and operate the software even though it does so much. It has the capability to run any report you could want to have and in many different ranges.

Cons

It has the capability to send out email information to groups of contacts that are in the system, but it doesn't have the option to send that same information in a text, even though it has that information in the system.

Cons

One thing that I don't enjoy about Camp Brain is the crossover between different "programs." We use this site for various "programs" at our school. I wish that all of the programs were merged into one site.

We are very satisfied with CampBrain. We use it for our resident camp programs, day camp programs and our retreat programs. CampBrain has videos/webinars that can walk you through many processes if you have questions or are just getting started and their customer service is top notch-both via email and phone.

Pros

CampBrain has excellent customer service, the ability to have custom reports created and a great step-by-step system in creating registration seasons, forms, and paperwork.

Cons

We'd like to see some upgrades in the Health Center module as well as the email system.

For over 5 years, Greenway-Chaplin Community Centre has been using CampBrain and we are grateful for easy reporting, simple communication tools to keep everyone informed and easy to use and train new staff.

Pros

CampBrain is awesome for camp and program management including registration, payment processing and email communication. Their customer support is amazing and I always get my questions answered quickly.

Cons

Sometimes I am challenged to search for the correct report as requested by the accounting department but once I have called Customer Service and found it. I can easily replicate it next time.

Excellent experience. When we call or email with an issue it's followed up on quickly. We use it extensively as we create our financial budgets for the new year.

Pros

It performs as advertised, and the response to any issues we have are quick and friendly. Running reports and creating new reports has been a very valuable tool.

Cons

Like any complex tool, teaching new people is not always easy. Once you catch on it becomes easy, but new people struggle.

All I can say is LOVE IT!! This is by far one of the better programs I have used in my 40 years in the hospitality business.

Pros

I am a Venue Rentals Manager. I like the ease of use in entering Venue Renters their room needs and all the details that help with ensuring all facets of the event go smoothly.

Cons

The only real con I have is the process of having to rebook meetings for a year span and having to the tedious rebook each.

Pros

CampBrain's staff is very friendly and go out of their way to help in any way they can. If they do not have the answer right away, you always hear back within 48 hours.

Cons

CampBrain cannot integrate with other systems we have.

CampBrain offers the best customer service. No one on our team has ever been left without support, it is always a call or email away. The staff at CB are bar none the best! We are a busy outreach office that aims to connect different communities with STEM programming. CampBrain helps to make this possible!

CampBrain is a great way to organize all of our programs! Easy to use for our staff and our participants.

Cons

There are a few 'wish list' items that would make things run even better for us, but we are willing to wait.
