Pros: Outstanding customer service: fast, friendly, and genuinely interested in the success of our camp. The philosophical anchor to base the presentation of data around the relationship that the campers have to one another and the camp programs makes it very natural and useful to organized camping, which is fundamentally an enterprise engaged in relationship building. The functionality of the platform has been as advertised and rock-solid in terms of maturity and up-time. Finally, the company seems committed to growth and evolving the platform to meet the changing needs of camper families and the camps they serve -- in the three years we've been with them, we've seen consistent growth and we have especially appreciated efforts to involve us in charting their growth map.

Cons: I have minor quibbles with some of the functionality but mostly only regarding their "beta" initiatives. I would, of course, like these to converge faster -- but I don't think that CampMinder is dragging their feet, just resource limited like we all are.

There are things that I wish it had -- a solid app for parents, for example -- but these are more of a "wish-list" kind of critique, not a dislike.

Overall: Before we adopted CampMinder we were managing our business with spreadsheets, so adoption of the software has been a serious game-changer for us. While any good platform would have been a huge upgrade, we have been consistently impressed with CampMinder's customer service that made integration go very smoothly and has helped us realize the maximum benefit from our integration efforts.

CampMinder's pace of innovation is outstanding and we are very happy to have adopted this platform. The ratio of function-to-cost (and customer service) is also extremely high -- I am very impressed with what we get for the cost. The no-nonsense approach to pricing is also very attractive to me (flat rate, no contracts, no data-hostage gotchas). I also appreciate that CampMinder presents a very high quality face to our camp families -- CampMinder's recognition that our customers are ultimately their customers is highly productive and reassuring. This attitude that "we're all in this together" is one of the keys to their success.

Pros: CampMinder has impeccable customer service. The software is user friendly and inclusive. Parents and Staff have an easy time navigating and using the features of this program. I love the bunking module because it saves an incredible amount of time. The reporting system is very versatile as well. I like that I am able to follow a person throughout all of their interactions over years with the unified person record. It allows me to see a person as a former camper, former staff member, and a parent of an enrolled camper all in one easy to understand record.

Cons: Some of the modules cost additional money, our camp sees many children, but we do not have the high rates that some other camps charge, so we have to do without some of the modules such as fundraising, because the cost is not something we can incur at this point. I also wish there were a better way to report and email groups across seasons. You can produce reports in different seasons, but across seasons is currently impossible as far as I know.

Overall: Working with CampMinder has helped us feel confident that the data in the database is accurate. In the past, we worked with other online camp database software that had us constantly questioning if the reports we were pulling were complete and accurate. This is a non-issue with CampMinder. We have been able to move our forms and documents online for parents to fill out and for us to be able to report on. This has helped us become more environmentally friendly, since we are no longer requiring multiple paper forms. We also feel well taken care of when calling in with questions, their customer service team is fantastic.

Pros: CampMinder is very user-friendly and has all the features needed for effective enrollment management. From being able to run enrollment reports, to be able to see if a parent opened and read an email, to allow parents to register their child for camp and make payments online at their convenience. CampMinder has helped our organization bring our enrollment process to the 21 century. Before getting CampMinder we were still registering students via a paper system. CampMinder has allowed us to have access to so much more information at our fingertips.

Cons: There is no adult module and adults have to register themselves as children. Our adult students do not like having to use a workaround to register online. However, our adult students still love that they can sign up online at their convenience and make payments.

Although this is what I like least about the software, CampMinder is working on an adult module at the moment and it is currently in Beta testing. Our adult students will be thrilled when this module is available to them.

Overall: CampMinder has allowed us to streamline our registration process and enabled us to have so much access to information via the various reports that we can run through the system. The software has allowed us to better track how students find out about us and follow up on leads and inquiries. We are able to track the workload and enrollment numbers at any time.

Pros: CampMinder is very easy to use if you are even remotely tech savvy. I love the instructional videos and the articles to help you understand how to set up the system. Tracking a person's history with our camp programs is awesome, allowing us to maintain years of records at our fingertips. Reporting is straight forward and time efficient. I like the bulletin features and being able to tag other colleagues and communicate in a way that directly links to a person's profile page.

Cons: It does not meet all our needs as an organization. We need a way to manage property reservations outside of summer and were told that was platform was being added to CM. We have yet to see it and therefore need to pay for yet another software platform. The customer-facing side, CampInTouch, is clunky compared to other companies and the ability for camps to customize what customers see is limited. Our most common questions revolve around camper guardians being unable to find information packets on CampInTouch, in part because they blend in with camper paperwork. It seems like CM was designed more for large east coast style camps where the campers stay for several weeks. There are far less useful features for those of us who have one-week sessions.

Overall: CampMinder has revolutionized the way we manage camper paperwork, check in and check out procedures, and health care at camp. Using CM has allowed me as the director more time to interact with campers and less time spent in the office.

Pros: Staff onboarding is great - lots of easy ways to track many forms.

Med handling, health forms, and running an infirmary is great - very intuitive.

The idea of "cradle to grave" handling of people is ideal.

Cons: Development process for features is very slow. Tendency to over promise and under deliver (everything from UPR, adult registration, donor management, retreats and rentals).

New features released with poor support and functionality (see Adult registration, donor management).

Customizable within a specific framework, but for sessions and events outside of that framework, almost unusable. For example - the camper application is lengthy and well done for overnight sessions, but if you're running a single day event that you need registration for, it is WAY overkill, and not particularly customizable per session/event.

The price is high for us.

Overall: Our experience has been mostly positive. It is a dramatic upgrade from what we had before, and it has really changed the way we track our staff and alumni.

However, we have missed out on other opportunities while waiting for CM to develop new features, and then been very underwhelmed by their release (donor management, adult registration...). Originally our goal as an organization was to use campminder as our exclusive database for enrollment, alumni, staff, donor, etc - but after using it for four years, it has become clear to me that while it may be a "jack of all trades" - it is pretty average to below average at some of those things. As a result, we've gone back to maintaining multiple databases.

Pros: CampMinder helps to facilitiate all aspects of running our camp. It's an integral tool for all members of our year round team, as well as our seasonal staff.

Things I love the most..

1. The People. The support at CampMinder is top notch. Help is a phone call or a ticket away, and the CampMinder folks are dedicated to developing not only software solutions but relationships with their clients.

2. The Functionality. I believe that CampMinder is easy to learn, easy to use, and can do almost anything I need it to when looking for info on a camper, parent or staff member. I find this system to be intuitive and walks you through the steps you need to be successful.

3. The Continual Growth. CampMinder has been through serveral versions since it's inception and the team there is always looking to make the lives of us camp folks easier. They ask the right questions, and do their best to deliver.

Cons: As a long time CampMinder user, I have witnessed some growing pains as they have expanded their client base and thus their client support team. On occasion, the support team offers "101" or beginner level assitance for a user that is operating at a "301" or advanced level. That said, the customer service is always been attentive, kind, warm and determined to get an answer for me.

Overall: I love that the CampMinder crew is an extension of our year round team!

Pros: While the learning curve is steep, the CampMinder team is with you all the way. This software manages so much information and data for our camp. What we can do with that info/data feels endless some days. We love the ability to run reports, gathering specific information needed on every child. They KNOW camps so many reports already exist at the click of a button. Camp people building software for camps. The overall responsiveness to our needs is incredible as well.

Cons: You will need to take the time to learn how to truly utilize all aspects of this software. There are days where I still feel like a novice, even after years of working with it, but I have learned to reach out to my CM support. Once you start to understand how to set up reports, seasons, documents, etc... It starts to click. Realize I am NOT techie at all.

Overall: We work with a specialized camp population which makes the "standard" software hard to apply in our areas of need BUT CampMinder works with us to adjust, accommodate, or individualize as needed. Our suggestions and issues are met with problem solving with our CM team. Can't say enough about the support you get with this software. Every now and then we look at other products but NONE can match the level of functionality or support that we get from CampMinder.

Pros: The ability to see the customer record and log in as if I was them.

The ability to send invoices easily by clicking and dragging them to an email

Sending out mass emails to parents and selecting the group you want to send it to.

Finding out all the things you can do that you had no idea, there are so many fields that I have not clue are out that and will help with reporting

CUSTOMER SERVCIE I ALWAYS get great help when I send in tickets. I love dealing with your team of experts.

Cons: I would like a better way to track camper retention, canned reports that would report out on each camper in each program even if the camper is coming twice. Instead of adding the sessions to a feild in the report. I do the overall reports not camp specific and to run each session at each camp to get the total number of campers is not reasonable. I have had a custom report developed that works great but it would be nice to pull this directly from the system.

Overall: We had some challenges with accrual accounting but have developled a plan that works, I know this is in the works to change this year. If it works for us it will cut down on the number of programs becuase I have to make one for June and one for July.

I have very much enjoyed working with CampMinder for the years we have had it.

Pros: What I like most about this software is the bulletin board full of information I want to see without having to navigate through different tabs. Another HUGE pro is how comfortable I feel to Call customer service/support when I do not know how to do something, they are so nice and soooo helpful.

Cons: This is not an actual con but something I need to improve for myself...There are so many settings I don't remember what to do sometimes to receive the information I am looking for.

Overall: My overall experience with CampMinder has been A++. I became director in April, so even during the Summer I did not quite know what I was doing on CampMinder and definitely did NOT feel comfortable using it (SO thankful for my tech savvy assistant director). As soon as Summer Sessions ended I started using CampMinder daily and calling when I had questions, whether it's that I have called so much and they have completely walked me through how to use it by now or I just spent time figuring it out myself, I am completely dialed in on this deal and can navigate almost as well as anyone else. A big shoutout is due to the CampMinder staff. So grateful for them. I have recommended CampMinder over and over to Camps on a popular Facebook page "Summer Camp Pros", making sure they know this is THE Camp System of America, no doubt. Thank you CampMinder for all you do for us, Happy Campers here at Kiowa because of you.

Pros: The consistency across all aspects of setting up the programs -regardless of subject, year or participant. Also the immediate helpful response of customer assistance for each ticket and/or phone call.

Cons: I would like to see a separate database option within CampMinder for the Winthrop YMCA sports. These kids are mostly too young for YCamp, or have never been -yet show up as 2-4 year veterans without ever having stayed at YCamp.

Unless I am double checking all names and addresses when compiling reports, my information may not accurate.

Overall: Fantastic!!!! Setting up the behind the scenes info for the camper application is simple! I can make most changes with very little effort. I LOVE the mass emailing options. What used to take me a month can now be accomplished in 10 minutes. The ability to see which staff and campers are having their birthdays is a great way to reach out to current/former campers. I have received many "thank yous" for the birthday emails I am now able to send out.

Pros: The ability to basically create almost any report that we need. In comparison to the last software product that we used this is miles ahead. The customer service is awesome. Everyone is helpful and professional, friendly and they make sure that they get an answer for you. Have been with them since 2011.

Cons: We do run into issues at the end of the season with trying to find out exactly what funds we brought in. Simpler way to see exactly what money you took in as a total without running all the charges, credits, discounts, etc. Also waiting for the groups and family module to be available and hope that it will be separate from the camping side.

Overall: The software is very easy to use and each summer when I get seasonal help, there isn't an issue with someone learning it at all. Customer service is great. Have been waiting for the groups/family module since 2011 though when we first signed on with CampMinder. The company has become very popular and the number of camps using the software now leads to LOTS of requests for updates and changes so it sometimes takes a long time to see a change because everyone wants the same info but in a slightly different way or more detailed, etc. Still I am very happy with CampMinder.

Pros: Customer support is incredible. Probably to the frustration of CampMinder, we very rarely use the built in ticket or community forum features because a phone call always gets the job done in minutes. CampMinder support is willing to walk me through unique reports and troubleshooting very quickly.

Seasonal staff on boarding is great.

Cons: On the program side of things, the cabin assignment module is pretty clunky and many of the simple reports require too many steps to be easily taught to seasonal staff. Overall, I think that the program looks and acts like it was made 10 years ago.

One of my biggest disappointments is the mobile app. It is so limited in functionality and crashes often. When it works, all it is really able to do is act as a super slow contact information database.

Overall: Displeased. It has taken several years to get just the beta version of adult registration despite many promises. The greatly advertised unified person record came to be years after other companies had done the same thing.

After attending CampMinder Camp two years ago, I felt that the company really likes to talk about how cool and first rate they are but I've just not seen that in reality.

Pros: CampMinder is the most essential tool to run our camp. It houses all of the camper and camper family information, staff information, financial information, travel information, summer blogs and photos, AND does mass communications, unlimited reporting and much more. The best part- the staff at CampMinder are incredibly helpful, endlessly patient, and very responsive. You can call them anytime (during the summer, literally anytime, but during the off-season it is normal business hours) and they are always willing to help you find a solution, hop on a screen share, or investigate things on your behalf. They're great!

Cons: I wish the financials and communication pieces could be overhauled. In the communication realm, you can't update an email list for a mass email- you have to filter with many criteria to get a certain list. Financials are not always clear, and there are no options for multiple household payments (divorced parents), or manually scheduled payments. The batch billing as a whole is very confusing, as are the financial reports that are generated.

Pros: This software works quite well for our summer camp and much of it is intuitive. Certain features we only use once or twice a year and we often forget how to use them. Sometimes we are growing or changing our program and need to add features and functions. This is not always intuitive. But my favorite thing about this software is the ease with which I can get support. They have great help videos and best of all fantastic support staff readily accessible by phone to help create solutions, solve problems, and teach. The back end support is truly excellent.

Cons: Occasionally I run into a function I would like that does not exist so I have to use some kind of work around for the season. It can require a bit of extra work on my end. However, I've always felt that when this occurs the CampMinder team takes note of the issue and tries to solve it, or make it better for future iterations of the software or future seasons, which I appreciate.

Pros: We absolutely love the user-friendliness, ability to document notes and run reports, ability to filter custom results as needed. The customer support really sets this company apart. The team make every interaction a positive one. It's also exciting to know that when you have an idea or a "wish-list" for CampMinder, they truly listen to their customers to help provide solutions when they're able. The training videos make for easy onboarding for our new employees, and we look forward to utilizing CampMinder for years to come.

Cons: We wish there was a better way for tracking our conversion via Analytics, since enrollment is fully supported through CampMinder. We also would love ways to filter out previous' years records quickly and easily. We also wish mobile-friendliness was a bit better.

Overall: Overall, CampMinder has changed the way we manage our clients, our staff applicants, and the way we market to new leads. We're pleased with our experiences with this company, and we hope that anyone looking for a switch will take a look at CampMinder to see if it fits their needs.

Pros: CampMinder takes care of most of our needs seamlessly. From camper and staff applications to medical forms (and other forms), to skill signups, it does it all! There are even options we don't use, since we are owned by a parent company, but it will do things like background checks for your staff.

Cons: It doesn't yet do other events well, other than summer camp. For example, we have a Father & Son event, a Mother & Daughter event, and a Family Camp event, and although CampMinder has provided us a workaround so that we can schedule those events through CampMinder, it is not a perfect interface. However, I understand they are working on it!

Overall: As mentioned before, CampMinder covers most all of our needs with applications and forms from our families and staff. The customer support is excellent as well. Not a long wait to talk with someone live most any time, and you can also fill out tickets for support online.

Pros: The CampMinder platform allows us to engage with our camp families and staff in a streamlined manner. We can track applications, enrollments, and trends easily, plus pull customized reports. Their lead management also allows us to turn either an email or phone call into a new camp family. Families have one place to go to complete all their necessary forms and access parent packets, calendars, and more. Our office time has become streamlined and more efficient thanks to this great system.

Cons: CampMinder is currently working on updating their finance side of the system in order to meet the needs of larger camps, like ourselves. Custom reporting in this area would be a huge plus. In addition, the ability to schedule mass emails would be extremely beneficial. We also do not utilize the Photo summer service, as our parents prefer Google Photos, where they can download for free.

Overall: Overall, our experience with CampMinder has been excellent. Our camper retention has increased and our parents love the one-stop portal that it provides.

Pros: CampMinder is clearly committed to quality and continually improving their product. They are always making updates to improve the software, and they offer some level of solution for almost everything a camp would want to do. CampMinder makes internal communications very easy, helps us keep track of leads and returning campers, and helps us organize logistics and camper information.

Cons: CampMinder is not set up for the way our camp does accounting (they are in the process of making updates to their financial system, so we hope this will be a good solution for us), so this causes us serious issues when it comes to collecting balances and reporting on income to accounting. Pros: CampMinder is the perfect solution for our camp - it let's us work more efficiently and focus more on our campers than paperwork! The thing I love most about this company, is that they are constantly updating, growing, and changing to stay current with the trends in our industry. Their customer service is incredible - I can't tell you how many times I've called with a crazy request or question, and they have a solution.

Cons: Our camp has some very specific needs that don't fall into some of the traditional models they provide. That being said, the customization features of their forms and modules allows us to create a CampMinder that is tailored to our specific needs. They were incredibly helpful in the process of determining how the software could best fit our exact needs.

Overall: I wish every business was more like CampMinder - truly motivated by the community they serve, constantly seeking to improve and build on an already great product, and truly kind and invested in the work we do.

Pros: I love the ability to run reports and see any information about campers and staff, the user-friendly applications and forms; the ease with which I can interact with campers and parents through the system; and the easy way I can save/store information. I also love how I can customize forms and collect the information unique to my camp!

Cons: There are a couple of functions specific to my camp that I wish could be tweaked: separate applications for staff and alumni who come to camp (although customization is very helpful); the ability to register a second camper under the same family with a different price (I have to manually enroll campers who come to Mom & Me Weekends).

Overall: The customer service is phenomenal. I have never experienced such kind, patient, and clear communicators as those I speak with through CampMinder. I have also learned much from those phone calls about quick ways to find information and best practices for collecting information and structuring our applications and sessions.

Pros: That you can gather as much information about our campers as needed using custom questions.

Cons: Wouldn't say least as much as maybe complicated. I am not as computer savvy as most so learning to use CampMinder was not easy. The staff at CampMinder was very helpful and patient. Creating custom questions is complicated for me. I wish that there was not a charge for CampMinder creating these questions when needed.

Overall: Our camp which is a non profit grief camp doesn't utilize a great deal of what CampMinder has to offer. Our camp is only one week, the campers go for free and our staff volunteers. Taking all of that into account we feel that CampMinder has tried to work with us.

Pros: The CampMinder report writing capabilities are very powerful. If there is a field for information, you can generate a report that will access it.

The customer support team is exceptional. They know the product and are able to help us utilize it to better manage our camp program.

Cons: At times, it seems like the program was written with residential camps in mind. Over time, though, our requests for more day camp functionality have been heard and acted upon.

Overall: The online registration portion of the CampMinder software and our ability to easily accept credit card payments from camp families has helped us manage the registration process. The report writing feature has helped us manage camper rosters. The staff management segments of the program have helped us streamline the hiring process.

Pros: The CampMinder software is so robust that I can create all kinds of reports to learn all kinds of things about our campers. I have never had a problem reaching someone from customer support when I cannot figure out how to do something, but usually I can find my answers in the videos. I also like being able to do the billing through the program. The program is so good that it saves my employer money because they only need a part-time registrar.

Cons: The definitions list in the reports building section is not as intuitive as it could be.

Overall: We offer financial assistance to many of our campers and many of our donors want to know specific information about our campers' demographics. CampMinder helps up collect all the information we need quickly and easily.

Pros: I really like having the ability to pull reports and that they generate quickly. I like that CampMinder isn't just a registration service, but it has budgeting, HR, bunking, travel, newsletters, health center, etc. features. This is really helpful for camps who are not affiliated with an organization such as a JCC or a YMCA.

Cons: That I have to pull a report just to see the number of campers registered in one session rather than clicking on it and a having a roster pop up. I also don't like that CampMinder isn't compatible with many other software services-this makes camps have to do double entries.

Overall: My overall experience with CampMinder has been great! I think the customer service is awesome! I have used CampMinder for 2 different camps but I have never had proper training, so I tend to teach myself a lot and it's very helpful to have people who are friendly and understanding in the call center to assist! so thanks for that!

Pros: Easy to use, clear layout. Enrollment and Financial reports are easy to create. Our new, young staff are able to learn how to use it quickly. The customer support is amazing. Families are clearly linked together and I am able to look at one page and have all the information I need about a camper.

CampMinder's tags and customer fields have made it possible for me to keep track of and report on campers from special groups or who are receiving scholarships so efficiently. I am saving so much time by making the software work for me.

Cons: CampMinder was created and developed for a typical summer camp. This means they are still developing a system that can accommodate some of the more complex sessions we offer.

Overall: CampMinder's reports, user interface, and features allow me to save so much time and increase my accuracy and efficiency compared to other camp software systems.

Pros: One of the best parts about CampMinder is that the logic of the system is the same throughout - once you know how to perform one function, you can figure out how to do any other task. It's easy to explain to new users. Another enormous selling point is the amazing client and technical support. One the camp end, their support is amazing - great follow up and easy to reach. From the parent end, I know they have helped so many of our families with their needs and questions - no matter how small.

Cons: There are very few improvements that I would suggest (and already have), and I admire their culture of improvement and advancement - always looking to make the next version better than the previous version.

Overall: We rely on CampMinder for EVERYTHING - it has transformed how we run our camp!

Cons: For our special needs camp program and as much is half of our campers are 18 and older in your system forces us to create duplicate copies of their enrollment accounts in order to basically create a false age under 18 in order to keep them returning year to year, which more than 50% of our campers do and have done for 10+ years on average some camper still coming back for 20+ or 30+ years, I would highly encourage an upgrade for special-needs users in order to accommodate for higher age ranges than 18 years old, that doesn't seem to be too difficult to do.

Overall: We're definitely solving the big problem of data management and Registration and Billing, but again the special-needs program that we run requires us to work with kids 18 and older so this is been extremely clunky inside CampMinder and we've considered switching away because of that

Cons: Most of my irritations with the software are minor tweaks that really only would apply to my specific camp needs.

Pros: When we switched to CampMinder we were able to consolidate at least 5 different products. CampMinder handles camper registrations with wait-lists, staff applications with background checks. Being able to upload forms and documents has made it easier for us and for the parents. Families can order one-way emails, photos, labels and more. I can create just about any report I need. But I think the one thing that changed my world more than anything is how the wait-list works.

Cons: It is a small thing, but there are no capacities on additional options. I have to watch our horseback riding add-on and manually turn it off when it is full. This causes me stress because it could overbook.

Overall: I love this product and company. Help and training is fast and easy. Employees are friendly and responsive. In summary; CampMinder has changed my life!

Pros: I like the overall organization and setup of CampMinder. I also think that most features are very flexible and allow you to personalize the options as much as you want. Running reports is specific and adaptable so that you can get the exact information you want each time.

Cons: There is definitely a learning curve. Some of the features are not able to be personalized, which really hinders the reports features. For example, running reports on activities/electives preferences only gives you a specific set of information to sort by. I also think there could be improvements with the scheduling feature.

Overall: CampMinder support is amazing. Any time I've ever called to ask questions, the staff are knowledgable and friendly. Even if they can't help me do the exact thing I want to do, they give me alternatives that are just as effective.

Cons: Honestly, it's hard to think of a negative. I'm extremely happy with this software.

Overall: We've increased camper enrollment by 10-30% the last 3 years after we switched to CampMinder and have increased our 'additional options/add-ons' purchases tremendously. I have to attribute some of that to the ease of use of the system. Parents login/enroll with ease, love the photo/video features and ability to see what their camper purchases at the camp store. From an admin side, the financial reporting has helped me with budgeting more accurately and see trends at a glance. I would highly recommend this software above all others. I searched for several months before we chose CampMinder and I couldn't be happier with our decision.

Pros: I like the fact that you can store all campers and staff data in one place and that it really helps manage things like paperwork, notes about the individual, treatments, and their history with our camp. I also like the fact that if you can't figure something out you can either head over to the help section and see how to find the solution or you can contact a customer support and they can get you what you need to know.

Cons: The way that it is set up could be a little more user friendly. There are buttons and tools that don't make a lot of sense as to where they are in the menu. Pros: I love how everything is digital and with a little database knowledge it's very easy to navigate. The medical section of this is stunning and and our camp loves and used it to it's full capacity. Everything about it is hands down just amazing.

Cons: With staff housing (bunking) I don't like that for each session we have to input the staff bunking over and over. At our camp it would be easier to have it integrated with each session for all summer.

Overall: I have only been using CampMinder since the beginning of March of this year (2018), so far I love it. Compared to our numbers from the previous summers we saw an increase in enrollments, which is absolutely amazing. Any time I have needed to call the customer service line i would explain the issue I was having and they explained it step by step how to correct it and how to do it the right way. CampMinder here for us has been great. We love being able to print a report for all campers/staff to see have forms are missing or just anything in general. Love it!!

Pros: Campminder has all of our registrar, finances, donor relations, photos, camp families communications and historical data all in one place. I can't imagine trying to juggle more than one database of information for each of these business needs. I like that CampMinder is continually improving and adding functionality.

Cons: We find that we only hear from the CampMinder team when there is an issue. It would be awesome to hear from our account manager more often and to have them let us know more directly when new functionality rolls out that may help us out.

Overall: We like having all our information in one place and now that they are working to back things up for us as well, so that if servers do go offline we aren't at a standstill.

Pros: I love what it does in terms of organizational management. We have used three different programs over the past 15 years and it has handled it has worked the best.

They work closely with you on customizing your needs and making sure that you are set up to use it best for your site.

Cons: The photo plug in has much to be desired. It works but often struggles. It would also be great if they could build in a plug in that res'ed down the pictures for camps that have slow internet on site.

Their company is great and customer service is awesome when you can get them on the phone. We started with them pretty early on and as they have grown, it has been harder to get a hold of support.

Pros: The amount of things it can do. You can create reports about everything which is super helpful. I also lovet that it keeps all the info after a family uses it, so families can register easier the next time.

Cons: My parents have a hard time navigating it after they have already submitted a registration. It does so much that there are things I don't use.

Pros: Once it's all set up, it practically runs itself! There are so many options for reporting and the ease of tailoring reports is a huge bonus over our last software.

Cons: The photo component is not as easy as it could be. Although I am not the one who worked on it this past summer, the set up seemed tedious.

Overall: The initial training and help with the framework and set up was flawless and our rep was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. Pros: Ease of use for people of all technical abilities. End user experience is very intuitive, and the flow of information allows for easy reporting and communication across user groups.

Cons: We have a very large camp, 72 sessions, 1296 programs, 1500 campers and 300 staff. The system seems to slow down during peak usage, and during peak season. It's understandable based on our size, but it is cumbersome at times.

Overall: We are able to manage our Camper, Parent, Staff and Alumni information in one database, with effortless transitions year-to-year. Our payment portal is simple and effective, and our online registrations have increased every camp season since signing on with CampMinder.

Pros: I love the functionality of the system as a whole. It's so unique to have communication, family information, camper information, and so much more all in one place. And you can report on every single piece of that!

Cons: I do wish there were levels of supervision. We use the system nationwide with partners and it would be great to have a "super user" and then be able to restrict other users, or see changes they have made in the system.

Overall: Overall, CampMinder has been an amazing addition to our organization. We love using the system, and we love how much simpler it has made our registration processes.

When we first signed on we had a rep who didn't really seem to know what he was doing. I had worked with CampMinder at another camp and knew it's capabilities. This person didn't seem to know the best way to set things up, didn't listen to our concerns and overall gave us some bad advice. We may have switched after that had I not know that it could be better. The next year we got a new rep and it has been magic ever since!

Overall: We are able to easily track and know our campers and their families through CampMinder. Parents feel well taken care of when they call and we can refer to the details of their child/ last visit.

Pros: The CampMinder team continually upgrades and improves the site. They listen to their users and allow us to put suggestions on the "wish list" which may end up become a reality.

Cons: The field names have changed and that has made it harder to a)find the field and b)the field names are longer which makes running a .csv report a little clunky (columns are too wide and have to be abbreviated manually).

Overall: We migrated from a dBase III home-grown database. When it was time to look for a new provider, we made a wish list of what we wanted in our new database. CampMinder provided us with about 90% of what we wanted! Their customer service is excellent and they avoid speaking "nerd" to those of us who aren't software savvy.

Pros: User-friendly. Helpful pre-built reports. Easy to build reports to capture anything you want. Saved reports auto update as things change/progress.

Multiple partitions within the program to manage campers, staff, alumni, financials among others.

Customer Support is amazing. Always helpful. They have extended hours during the summer too!

Cons: Nothing that would prevent me from preferring another program or recommending CampMInder to another.

Overall: I am happy with CampMinder. I am still learning the system and get more excited as I discover new things and ways to capture information. Customer Support is always there to help create reports, explain things and they have always gotten me an answer.

Pros: Ease of functionality. The whole program is very easy to navigate yet it allows us to do complicated things.

Cons: My biggest issue with Campminder during this first year of having the service was the way we ran the medical side of things. We found it very repetitive and challenging for our parents. I am hopeful we can work together with Campminder to find a solution that creates ease for our camper families and allows for adequate information for our nursing staff.

Overall: I love the customer support that Campminder offers. Every time I call they are more than helpful. Each person I, or someone on my team, have spoke with has given the information or solution I need. They never make me feel rushed or that my question may have an obvious answer. More than not I leave with more than I called in for. Many times the customer support rep will go above and beyond to teach me something new and exciting as well as support my call in needs.

Pros: CampMinder's software is intuitive and easy to learn. It literally runs our camp, making tasks such as enrolling campers, assigning cabins, collecting camper information, billing and communication quite simple and often seamless.

Cons: Do I like re-creating my sessions and cabins each year? No! But if it's the price I have to pay for all of the other benefits, then so be it.

Overall: Parents love the CampInTouch photo gallery and email options. Walden added a camp store BECAUSE CampMinder made it easy to run one. The response from the CampMinder help desk is swift and NICE. I can direct parents to their support team without worrying that my client is going to interact with some cranky IT person. That's a huge relief.

Pros: Anything that we want to do with CampMinder we have found an easy way to achieve it. Very helpful customer support and great online training when we were first getting started.

Cons: During the summer our internet connection is poor, which is a slight disadvantage for any web based program. It would be nice to have a simplified off-line component that would be resident on a computer for times when the summer internet service is down.

Overall: This is a very professionally produced product, made by camp people for camp people. Intuitive design that allows us to easily manipulate camper and family data, track enrollment trends, and keep on top of the day to day running of camp.

Pros: CampMinder is set up almost perfectly for all camps, with just enough flexibility in order to meet our specific needs. The tech support is unparalleled.

Cons: There is not an ability for families to register their children outside the "gender binary" of boy and girl. I have made repeated requests for this change to be made, and have always heard that the change will be made. I hope it happens soon!

Overall: Remarkably thoughtful and competent customer service. Having CampMinder is like having another employee (or maybe two)!

Pros: CampMinder is so feature rich, it'll be the only program you need to run every facet of your summer camp. The previous program I used left a lot to be desired. When I had my first phone meeting with CM, I had a list of questions that began with "Can CampMinder....." or "Does CampMinder....." followed by what I wished the other program had. EVERY ANSWER WAS YES! We've been with CM for going on three summers now, and I love it!

Cons: I wish I could BCC on communications sent from CM, and that adding graphics into e-mail messages was simpler.

Overall: Amazing customer service, great product, overall win.

Pros: I love how there are so many features to CampMinder. I find something new on CampMinder almost every day. The customer support is amazing. They are always available to assist you and walk you through their website.

Pros: The CampMinder program is exceptional in its comprehensive provisions for camp record-keeping, and I could wax poetic all day about its many features. But the most excellent aspect of CampMinder is its support team ... always available, always professional, always proficient, always helpful. Never have I known a company or organization to have support that is so easily and quickly accessible and that so consistently assures positive outcomes.

Pros: I love that CampMinder seems to always be one step ahead of the game when it comes to a solid Camp Management software. They really seem to get it and are laser focused on delivering a product that will grow with you over the years and not a product that you will grow out of.

Cons: They have a few minor design choices that are a little puzzling, but the greatness of the product far outweighs those.

Overall: Our enrollment has exponentially grown since we started using CampMinder and I think their product has played a large role in that growth.

Pros: This software is designed for overnight camp! It handles so many things that our old software just couldn't do. I particularly love the flexibility with the reporting tool. You can easily build reports that YOU want, save them, and run them whenever you need with the click of a button.

Cons: It functions on a "season" system. So everything in a year is in one season, and everything in the next year is in a different season. There are some really great things about how that works, and a few things that cause confusion for parents when we have two seasons open at the same time. Overall though that is minor!

Overall: The customer service experience has been top notch. They are available, they are knowledgeable, and they want to help!

Pros: CampMinder is very intuitive to use and the video tutorials are straightforward. It is unbelievable that we can house all camper and family information on a singular platform. I love the online forms feature which means less paper waste and ease of access for both camp administrators and camp families.

Cons: As someone who frequently uses the email feature on CampMinder, I wish there was a way to edit emails without having to select recipients. I wish there was a way to delete email campaigns without, again, having to select recipients.

Pros: I like being able to send mass emails to our staff and having all of our email templates saved in one place.

Cons: Not being able to enter financial information by camp session on our employment agreements when a staff member is working multiple camp sessions. It would be great if multiple contracts could be saved within CampMinder for the same camp season.

Overall: CampMinder allows us to engage with all of our staff and camper families in an easy and accessible way. It also has been incredibly useful in saving historical data on each person for hiring purposes and when speaking to graduates of our program.

Pros: CampMinder has streamlined all of our previous databases into one easy to use platform. Additionally, without having to maintain all the separate databases and update them from year to year, we have more consistent information available to us.

Cons: hmmm. really can't think of anything. I was hesitant at first about an online system, with sometimes spotty internet at camp, but it hasn't been an issue at all in the end.

Overall: The online forms system is one of my favorite parts. Saying goodbye to paper forms, and the flood of incoming mail in the spring was life-changing.

Pros: I has it ALL. Campminder is the most comprehensive tool I have found. There are many of these type tools for camps out there but the others just do not have the same features. The customization features are essential for our needs.

Cons: We are a small camp so it is pricey for us but well worth it. I cannot imagine running camp with out it.

Overall: Our staff as well as our parents love it. The financial features are great for the accounting end of camp. It is awesome for all our record keeping and organizational needs.

Pros: This is a great service for keeping track of seasonal camper and staff information and forms.

Cons: 1-If you run more than one camp (we have 2 single-gender camps) you either have to consider them as one camp with different divisions or buy a separate account for each camp.

2-The alumni and fundraising modules are woefully undeveloped once you have been using the system for a few years and your alumni and fundraising records are robust and active.

3-The Community forum for ideas for improvement is terrible and does not make a client feel that their feedback is useful or desired.

Overall: Better than average. The customer service for basic questions is good. The format for accepting critique and ideas for improvement is terrible.

Pros: It's user friendly and leaves room for personalization - so the adaptability helps to manage camp specific programming.

Cons: The initial set up was hard for me because it was a blank slate. I've never done that before and it was daunting. Once we got connected with the right account manager (Simon!) we got it figured out and it worked like a charm!

Overall: Customer Service -- Better than Chick Fil-a!! Product - Better than seafood at the Gulf Coast! Overall Experience -- #1 just like the Alabama Crimson Tide!!

Pros: The software is easy to use and supports the job of managing camp data well.

Cons: Soemtimes it takes a while to get it to do what I want it to do.

Overall: Campminder provides a product that makes day to day camp management simple. Honestly though the best part is their excellent customer service and fantastic people that work there. They are always willing to help in a timely manner however small the question or big the problem. Pros: I love that CampMinder has a short learning curve and is easy to use. The database has powerful reporting functions and can keep just about everything in one place. I trust CM to have the data I need to make my reports and analytics accurate to track our progress year over year.

Pros: CampMinder thinks of ways to help me stay organized that I haven't thought of yet myself! There's always a way to denote, remind, organize, file , and collect data that makes sense and is quick.

Pros: CM is very easy to use- the financial ledger is very clear. Intuitive and practical.

Cons: Very hard to run financial reports needed. Lengthy process to extract data needed for reports for corporate office. Room for human error when selecting/deselecting items.

Overall: CampMinder overall is a good product and the support staff are amazing. There are a few issues around the camp store accounts for our camp but we hope to have those fixed for next summer. The most difficult part is running financial reports. It is difficult to get the revenue numbers for each camp and each general ledger account line. The reports were often incorrect due to an issue with pulling duplicates if a camper was in more than one session.

Pros: I like that those who use this software all year long seem to know its ins and outs. It is comprehensive and has a lot of features that we do not use, but I imagine other organizations use it to its full capacity. My favorite feature is the birthday bulletin on the home page. This helps me develop a closer relationship to my campers by knowing if it is their birthday when I first log on.

Cons: Logging in after your initial log in is difficult. Many times the website will take me to a system reporting page that is blank. I have used this product for three years and always encounter the same issue. The home page for the most part is cluttered with old system updates and is difficult to navigate for camper reports. For example, to get to my attendance I need to go to Reporting --> User Reports --> Camper. The first few times I clicked on 'Staff' instead of 'Camper' because I assumed a staff report would contain my reports. It was difficult to learn but has done the job for the most part.

Pros: It's the best Camp Management Database system out there. Period. The team is always working on updates and improvements based on feedback from their customers. Their workforce is wonderful - their customer service team is fabulous.

Pros: The software is very easy to navigate through. It is a quick onboarding process. There are tons of resources available to help the process and answer any questions. The customer service is very great and are on top of answering the phones. The interface is simple and the homepage has a great look.

Cons: I wish there were more task management features. It houses a ton of information and would be better suited with tasks and logging of information. Also wish the registration process for parents for account login was more seamless with less confusion for parents with emails or accounts on file.

Cons: The cost, of course--but in spite of having to pay a lot, the software has proven to have great value for the dollar.

Pros: Overall ease, intuitive features, and fabulous, fun customer support! Oh, and CampMinder camp of course - don't miss it, especially if you're new!

Cons: As office manager for a very large overnight summer camp, I periodically run into areas where CampMinder doesn't yet offer a feature that would be very helpful to us. They are always very responsive to this feedback for their lists of new areas to develop, however.

Pros: Most information is available and it is not difficult to use.

Cons: Information and reporting is not easily accessible. Many reports that should be available or simple to run are not.

Overall: For the most part, Campminder is a decent system but falls short especially for day camps as it is better suited/designed for sleep away camps.

Pros: The software was pretty easy to learn and use, the help videos and links came in handy and the online training got me up to speed and got me off to a great start for the health center.

Cons: Off the top of my head, one gripe I had with CampMinder from the nursing stand point is that when I was signed in I was able to use the drop down menu to assign a nurse to a task, such as medication administration. The reason I did not love this is because another nurse has access to assign my name to a task such as the administration of medication without my approval. If I am signed in, I feel as if I should only be able to assign myself.

Also, now that I am thinking about it, there were a handful of times I was able to backdate a time but when I saved the action, the time I put in was not correct. This was not always the case, sometimes it worked correctly and sometimes it did not.

Overall: I loved CampMinder, it was easy to use. I think there might have been some confusion on the parents side, with adding medications to a camper's profile but I wonder if that is a camp specific problem or if multiple users experienced this issue.

Pros: Ease of use for Camp Directors in managing/scheduling camp enrollment.

Some flexibility in reporting capabilities.

Ability to perform monthly payments electronically.

Cons: Financial portion of the system is not very robust. Minimal amount of financial reports available.

When exporting data to Excel, all sessions being attended by one child dump into one column. Could separate this within Excel; however, number of additional columns needed is not consistent.

Overall: Camp Minder has proven to be a good way to manage camp enrollments, providing payment flexibility to our camp families. Our Camp Directors appreciate the ability to set up bunk plans, track medical and other data, and create custom reports that fit their needs. The staff at CampMinder is attentive to our needs, and provide prompt replies when questions arise.

Pros: campminder is the most interactive data base system for camps around. The ease of collecting information, receiving forms, creating reports, and bunking has made everyones job simpler. The best part of campminder is their customer support!

Pros: Customizing a report in CM is very easy and by setting up and saving criteria it makes it quick to run reports. Custom forms are also easy to create with custom questions for a specific sessions.

Cons: The financial portion of the system needs to be updated to allow automatic payments to be set up on an account, invoices automatically sent, and transactions posted.

Pros: Appreciate that CampMinder is designed by camp people for camp use. It makes the platform user friendly and meets our needs in so many specific ways. I can easily find what I need.

Cons: Would like to be able to send more exciting and snazzy emails to campers as follow-ups throughout the year. Things like seasonal clip art that would make the emails fun for campers to receive.

Pros: The online forms and enrollments are great. The support team is also great. We do find out selves on the phone regularly where as our past database was seldom.

Cons: Some functions don't work or break and you never know how long it's going to be to fix. Reporting and Report Writer is not the best.

Overall: Online Enrollment, Automatic charges, online forms management all are great.
