We have loved working with CampMinder. Besides the great software, the responsiveness of the support team and the proactive programmers, CampMinder is also focused on improving Camps through advice and articles about managing a camp. These are real Camp people, not just software people.

Pros

It is flexible enough to tailor to our specific needs and their support is always willing to help you figure out a way to do what you need. They are constantly creating new tools and updating the software.

Cons

The activity scheduling module needs to be improved as it doesn't work for us. Also needs more focus on managing staffing although this is currently in the works and looks to resolve this issue.

Everything has a learning curve, and CampMinder was there every step of the way. From the dedicated onboarding team to the payments team and then the client success team, each one brought something special to the experience. Everyone we’ve worked with has been kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. We haven’t met a single person at CampMinder who wasn’t pleasant to talk to or eager to help. Even their \[sensitive content hidden\] are down-to-earth, approachable people who truly get camp and understand what we deal with every day.

Pros

I’ve been working with CampMinder for just over a year now and honestly, they treat you like you’ve been part of their family from day one. You can tell right away they actually care about your camp’s success, not just about keeping you as a client. Their support team is the best I’ve ever dealt with. Every single person I’ve spoken to has been friendly, patient, and really knows their stuff. It never feels like you’re just calling a help desk. It feels like you’re talking to people who are part of your own team and want to help you and your camp thrive. What really stands out is how forward thinking they are with technology. They’re always improving, finding new ways to make things easier, and listening to what camps actually need. You can tell they’re not just keeping up. They’re thinking ahead.

It can get pretty costly for their top tiers so be sure to utilize all their features to the best of your ability.

### "Perfect if you camp has limited sessions."

The culture of the organization seems great, and they are really loyal to and proud of their product. They have grand visions and great ideas for their product as well, but in my experience many of these visions never pan out, or pan out years and years after they're expected, and aren't free. We're a year-round camp with many, many sessions, and the software simply isn't flexible to manage those things with unique applications, and the lack of cooperation for API access makes it worse. If you're a camp that just has a few basic sessions a year, this is probably simple and easy....but for us, this isn't ideal, and product upgrades and development take too long.

Pros

Staff onboarding is great. The staff application, collection of documents needed for onboarding, etc, works really well.

Cons

Not mobile friendly. That is definitely my least favorite thing about it. There are "app" options, and they've introduced some API options, but it makes an already expensive software way more expensive.

I would recommend CampMinder to any organization who has a camp of any kind. It is so easy for our customers to use and that is number one to happy parents coming back to register year over year.

Pros

The ease of the navigation, the well trained customer support technicians, the Campanion app... just about everything!

Cons

The new pop-up window that asks if you want to send the confirmation email or not when we are doing a back-office enrollment and processing payment. If payment declines after we select YES in this pop-up box (can't do it before processing payment as the pop-up window appears before this process takes place) then our customers get a total of 3 notifications which is causing confusion, they get the confirmation email we selected yes to send, the payment decline automated email message and then a personal follow up from our camp staff providing instructions to update payment method and making them aware their camper really is not enrolled until we gather a valid payment method. (already placed this feedback into a ticket which was already answered with suggestions to make our confirmation email more clear about payments declining-loved the reply I received with that suggestion!) To piggy back off this a little - when payment does decline the process of placing the camper back on the waitlist or back into the applied status is a little cumbersome. Payment declines>commit changes>session edit>cancel>commit changes>session edit>waitlist/applied>commit changes>email customer - maybe we can auto place people in the applied status when a payment declines through a back-office process just like it automatically does this when a customers payment fails at the time of registration?

This is my second season with Campminder. The 1st season everyone was very hands on and helpful during the set-up process. Support after was excellent. They were available to both me and my team during our learning process. I went into the second season unsure because you do not have a "person" assigned to assist you. I did need to put in a couple of help tickets. The response time was quick, the instructions thorough and they provided the links where I can find instructions moving forward. The help resources and searches are easy to use.

Pros

Ease of use on both the administrative and user side.

Cons

Your second season you do not have a live person assigned to help you start your new season for the first time. That would have been reassuring being it was the first time, and I had not been in the system for a long time.

Campminder is a great database because they understand the needs what year-round camp professionals need in a registration system. Also, all of their customer service reps are helpful, friendly and quick to find solutions and fix issues.

They are open to feedback and implementing changes across the entire system but it can take time.

CampMinder has allowed us to get all of our information we need for camp in one place, and to create new, customized reports whenever we need them. The customer service and client success managers have been super helpful in ensuring our first year worked quite smoothly!

The family accounts make it easy for returning families to apply while ensuring that all of their childrens' information is up- to-date and accurate.

Cons

Sometimes it is a little difficult to find the right settings to make the changes I want.

My experience with Campminder has been very positive. I have reached out to CM for help so many times and every time they are always so kind and do their best to get the info I need or to document my suggestions.

Pros

Campminder is surprisingly intuitive--About a year ago, I found myself running registration for and then helping manage a 10 week day camp of around 220 campers per week. I had ZERO experience in camping. Between the fairly easy to follow layout, the help library, and the availability of live-agents, I was able to figure out how to do everything our camp needed me to do. We had a great summer.

Cons

I can't think of many cons to my Campminder experience. There are a few things in the system that seem like they are relics of early iterations that could still be cleaned up. There are processes related to handling registration and payment for 50/50 custody families that could be improved. But it seems like progress is ongoing and the few things I've noticed are likely to be addressed before long.

10/10... Still waiting for an interactive map of cities to display current campers for recruiting. As it is we have to input addresses into another program.

Pros

We have been with Campminder since nearly the beginning. The way it has progressed and become better and better has been awesome. Campminder has always been open to new ideas that help camps better utilize their software for each and every unique situation.

Cons

Not much! They are always on top of their customer service. Anytime we have an issue our tickets are answered very quickly. I do wish the merge tool of multiple accounts was quicker. Perhaps a notification when the system finds two similar accounts.

Pros

It is so user friendly, and allows me to access so much information in so many ways. The scheduling tab has saved me hours of doing that by hand, and the reports that I can run tell me quite literally everything I could possibly need or want to know. Their customer support is some of the best I've ever worked with as well. I always joke that when I call them I'm calling my "best friends" because they are always so kind and helpful. They are also always very understanding of the hectic environment that a summer camp can be.

Cons

It can be a little overwhelming to learn to use at first, but once you learn it's very user friendly!

Fantastic. As I said above, the tool is flexible and the interface is easy to use. And, if the solution isn't obvious, then the phenomenal support team is ready and willing to help.

Pros

Campminder reporting is outstanding. The ability to create custom fields, forms, AND easily report is fantastic. We serve approximately 1500 youth in 15+ programs over 10 weeks, including traditional camp, on site wilderness programs, and off site adventure backpacking and paddling trips. We also run 6 session of family camp. We also offered tiered pricing options. That's a LOT of data - and we can do it all with Campminder. And, if we hit a bump - the Campminder support team is phenomenal.

Cons

I wish there were a better way to archive items that we no longer use. In the 9 seasons we've used Campminder, we've learned a lot, our programs have evolved, and we've tweaked a number of processes. We don't want to erase the history, but it would be great if we didn't have to sort through lengthy lists with dozens of outdated items to ctrl+click select the 8-10 that are relevant this season.

We work with a specialized camp population which makes the "standard" software hard to apply in our areas of need BUT CampMinder works with us to adjust, accommodate, or individualize as needed. Our suggestions and issues are met with problem solving with our CM team. Can't say enough about the support you get with this software. Every now and then we look at other products but NONE can match the level of functionality or support that we get from CampMinder.

Pros

While the learning curve is steep, the CampMinder team is with you all the way. This software manages so much information and data for our camp. What we can do with that info/data feels endless some days. We love the ability to run reports, gathering specific information needed on every child. They KNOW camps so many reports already exist at the click of a button. Camp people building software for camps. The overall responsiveness to our needs is incredible as well.

Cons

You will need to take the time to learn how to truly utilize all aspects of this software. There are days where I still feel like a novice, even after years of working with it, but I have learned to reach out to my CM support. Once you start to understand how to set up reports, seasons, documents, etc... It starts to click. Realize I am NOT techie at all.

Running reports is overly complex. No reason to have 3 different types, just make the selection criteria clear and let all reports be available.

Pros

Being able to create unique questions for our registration.

Cons

Would love some flexibility in the way things are named (Unit vs "Division", or Village vs "program," - just so it matches our internal language.Also, would love to have more than 2 choices for gender.

Working with CampMinder has helped us feel confident that the data in the database is accurate. In the past, we worked with other online camp database software that had us constantly questioning if the reports we were pulling were complete and accurate. This is a non-issue with CampMinder. We have been able to move our forms and documents online for parents to fill out and for us to be able to report on. This has helped us become more environmentally friendly, since we are no longer requiring multiple paper forms. We also feel well taken care of when calling in with questions, their customer service team is fantastic.

Pros

CampMinder has impeccable customer service. The software is user friendly and inclusive. Parents and Staff have an easy time navigating and using the features of this program. I love the bunking module because it saves an incredible amount of time. The reporting system is very versatile as well. I like that I am able to follow a person throughout all of their interactions over years with the unified person record. It allows me to see a person as a former camper, former staff member, and a parent of an enrolled camper all in one easy to understand record.

Cons

Some of the modules cost additional money, our camp sees many children, but we do not have the high rates that some other camps charge, so we have to do without some of the modules such as fundraising, because the cost is not something we can incur at this point. I also wish there were a better way to report and email groups across seasons. You can produce reports in different seasons, but across seasons is currently impossible as far as I know.

I wish every business was more like CampMinder - truly motivated by the community they serve, constantly seeking to improve and build on an already great product, and truly kind and invested in the work we do.

Pros

CampMinder is the perfect solution for our camp - it let's us work more efficiently and focus more on our campers than paperwork! The thing I love most about this company, is that they are constantly updating, growing, and changing to stay current with the trends in our industry. Their customer service is incredible - I can't tell you how many times I've called with a crazy request or question, and they have a solution.

Cons

Our camp has some very specific needs that don't fall into some of the traditional models they provide. That being said, the customization features of their forms and modules allows us to create a CampMinder that is tailored to our specific needs. They were incredibly helpful in the process of determining how the software could best fit our exact needs.

Pros

I love what it does in terms of organizational management. We have used three different programs over the past 15 years and it has handled it has worked the best. They work closely with you on customizing your needs and making sure that you are set up to use it best for your site.

Cons

The photo plug in has much to be desired. It works but often struggles. It would also be great if they could build in a plug in that res'ed down the pictures for camps that have slow internet on site. Their company is great and customer service is awesome when you can get them on the phone. We started with them pretty early on and as they have grown, it has been harder to get a hold of support.

We have realized the benefits of being able to have organized communication, records of our campers, and a system for parents to use to apply and continue with their child's enrollment!

Pros

I love how we are able to use the tag system to organize our campers effectively. It works great for what our program is trying to accomplish. I love how we can organize our data, too.

Cons

Campminder has not always been the easiest for our staff to learn how to use. I wish that there were ways to make it easier for new users!

Camp Minder has proven to be a good way to manage camp enrollments, providing payment flexibility to our camp families. Our Camp Directors appreciate the ability to set up bunk plans, track medical and other data, and create custom reports that fit their needs. The staff at CampMinder is attentive to our needs, and provide prompt replies when questions arise.

Pros

Ease of use for Camp Directors in managing/scheduling camp enrollment. Some flexibility in reporting capabilities. Ability to perform monthly payments electronically. Ability to offer various payment terms.

Cons

Financial portion of the system is not very robust. Minimal amount of financial reports available. When exporting data to Excel, all sessions being attended by one child dump into one column. Could separate this within Excel; however, number of additional columns needed is not consistent.

CampMinder's exceptional customer experience is what stands out to me the most when I think of my overall experience. From the first time I started working with CM and their representatives I felt a genuine care for my program and consider CampMinder a big part of my extended camp family.

Pros

I loved that a software was created by people who were as committed to camp as those who spend their days preparing for each summer. The software itself is great and just continues to get better. Not every camp is for everyone but CampMinder is great for every camp. CampMinder feels like part of our camp family. Every member of the CM team goes above and beyond to help with whatever our needs are.

Cons

I can't schedule emails - that is my biggest complaint at this time.

### "Easy to use platform"

Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Campminder because of how responsive they are to customer feedback. As stated above, the consistency with which they seem to upgrade and fine tune the operational aspects of the program says a lot about them as a company. Every year it gets better or smarter. This is helpful and something that I've come to expect from them now. That there will always be a new feature or two to learn each new season.

Pros

For us in the office the program is great. Easy to use report features, for custom information and camper issues, etc. I get quite a bit of feedback from parents that they find the Campminder system easy to use as well which is important. I love that the folks in charge are consistently working to improve all aspects of the system.

Cons

It doesn't allow us to register our volunteers each week so they are "in the system". It is nice to have all participants print on the same documents and in one place for insurance and other record keeping. I keep working on ways around it...and will figure it out someday.

We had some challenges with accrual accounting but have developled a plan that works, I know this is in the works to change this year. If it works for us it will cut down on the number of programs becuase I have to make one for June and one for July. I have very much enjoyed working with CampMinder for the years we have had it.

Pros

The ability to see the customer record and log in as if I was them. The ability to send invoices easily by clicking and dragging them to an email Sending out mass emails to parents and selecting the group you want to send it to. Finding out all the things you can do that you had no idea, there are so many fields that I have not clue are out that and will help with reporting CUSTOMER SERVCIE I ALWAYS get great help when I send in tickets. I love dealing with your team of experts.

Cons

I would like a better way to track camper retention, canned reports that would report out on each camper in each program even if the camper is coming twice. Instead of adding the sessions to a feild in the report. I do the overall reports not camp specific and to run each session at each camp to get the total number of campers is not reasonable. I have had a custom report developed that works great but it would be nice to pull this directly from the system.

Easy to use, friendly interface to keep all camper & lead information in one place Customer service is very quick to respond and friendly, easy to use help ticketing system, including on-boarding & training videos

Cons

Needs some extra work to incorporate custom fields and questions for your specific camp Campminder has been slow to accommodate customizations for our Campminder portal (i.e. custom tracking and analytics)
