August 23, 2020 5.0 Pros I recommend ActiveCampaign to all of my clients for two specific reasons. Easy of use and features. My clients hire me because they are not tech-savvy but ActiveCampaign gives them the freedom to use a robust email marketing platform with ease after getting over a very short and small learning curve. ActiveCampaign has an AMAZING and thorough online help database as well. Cons The only thing that I personally find missing from ActiveCampaign is Dubsado integration (although ActiveCampaign has a TON of integrations options so that might be a fault on Dubsado's end). I also think it would be nice to add landing pages. I host my landing pages on my Showit site but it would be a great option for some of my clients who haven't launched their site yet and want to start building their email list. A rarity nowadays. Additionally, they allow us to scale our list up and down and adjust price accordingly (we are in a college area and list size varies according to season. Once students leave, they are no longer interested in receiving emails.) Pros I came to Activecampaign from Aweber. We had been using Aweber for years. We switched in 2018 and never looked back Cons It has a lot of features. Not necessarily a con, but we found ourselves not exploring the features other than "sending emails" for several months. We came from aweber and were not aware of the additional features that Activecampaign could bring to bear. It's a powerful suite of email marketing tools and automations, worth the money. Pros The interface is really friendly while it offers a lot of advanced features. You have to learn the platform's language and logic, but once you do that, you realize there's so much you can do. You can automate everything you need, and that's huge. Cons When using conditional blocks, there are some conditions that are not to be trusted. This isn't my opinion, it's what they told me when they answered me a support ticket suggesting me to use another filtering method because the one i chose "was not reliable". I asked them why they allow people to use it if it's not reliable... They didn't get back to me. Pros I like all the AC functionalities and options for segmentation, automation, tracking, etc. They are endless and there is nothing we need to do with our leads, customers or prospects that is not possible with AC. Also the online help is really good and comprehensive. Cons The e-mail editor and the fact there is no one single point you can use to edit all of the e-mails being used regardless if it is in campaigns, automations, etc. I would rather prefer to have all of the e-mails we use in one single access point to be able to make changes in a more efficient way instead of having to go to each specific campaign or automation. I also miss a functionality to manage labels in a better way, because they can go easily out of control. About Customer Support, I needed something very specific about the way they invoice de annual product and they were not very keen to help. It's not a cheap tool so getting such a subpar UX is not acceptable. Time is essential for me, and waiting 20sec between each screen loading quickly adds up both in time as well as energy & stress costs. Pros It offers a LOT of tools & solutions under one roof. It does a good job at covering a wide range of use cases and in most cases you won't have to use a secondary software to get the job done. Cons The interface is complicated, laggy, and just not laid out best it could.. A lot of options are buried 3 or 4 clicks deep when they should be just a click away. Plus there's no way to modify the layout or set up shortcuts to tools you use most. You gotta go digging every time! Activecampaign does almost everything I need and works very well. Less confusing hype and fluff than competitor products. Looks and feels modern, but can be a bit sluggish when editing content. Pros Comprehensive system works well with wordpress and many other software systems IMO much easier to use than infusionsoft or similar systems needed to achieve same result Cons Charges by list size so can get expensive for larger lists Difficult to customise templates etc without being on most expensive enterprise plans. Friendly and helpful staff also provide motivation to get you to the next level of where you are trying to go with the software. The people I have dealt with at AC have always taken the time to try to understand my challenges and then guide me appropriately. Pros It was relatively easy to get up and running with our first email marketing campaign. In addition, ActiveCampaign offers plenty of help videos and many training sessions to either refresh your memory or learn new ways to maximize the effectiveness of AC. Cons There is some redundancy of fields in the contact cards and despite all of the info on their website about segmentation and tags and the like, I still have a lot to learn about what I find to be a confusing topic. Cons When you have a feature in your plan and the exclude it from the plan you don´t get a message and realize some time later, that it is not working anymore. And the pricing system scales in a pretty balanced way; it doesn't suddenly skyrocket like a lot of email services do. Pros This is a very powerful email distribution program, with the ability for complex autoresponder sequences, segmentation, etc. Yet the interface is pretty intuitive overall. And the customer service is unmatched. Cons Due to the level of complexity, there ARE going to be some features that take a little bit of figuring out. I've found this to be easier, though, than for comparable products, and if I can't figure it out myself, customer service has always been good about pointing me in the right direction. Cons If you want to use tasks, you either have to log into the system daily, or set up an automation that sends you an email notification when a task is due-- and the task does not link to associated contacts or deals in the pipeline, so you have to hunt those down in addition to building out an automation just to get a task notification. I love that when I have a question I can easily get help on the chat. One thing that really is a sore point that I can’t shake off is that I signed up and then 3 weeks later was notified by a colleague in my group that they got a years membership at 50% off?!!! I asked my rep and was told it wasn’t possible. This to me is disappointing, as a deal like that would definitely help me greatly! And the fact that I had signed up just 3 weeks before and really hadn’t used it till 4 weeks later. Very upsetting. Pros I like it’s ability to get really specific with your communications while getting back quality data that can be used to improve your approach. Cons The email templates are really lacking in design options. Also designing the template is not very user friendly. There are a lot of points of tension I’ve experienced while working on my first email campaign whilst using the builder. There’s also a lot that AC can do so the learning curve is quite steep. The flow with all the icons on the menu bar of AC isn’t intuitive to me, at least not yet. I’ve been using Photoshop and illustrator for over 13 years but find it challenging navigating AC. IT’s taking some time to adjust to it. It really went all. Automation is awesome, the best is to have someone who knows how to use it efficiently, and someone who is good at copywriting and activation. Once you got that, Active Campaign is because a tool your company cannot let go of. Pros We used Active Campaigns to create some automation into our customer journey. We planned key points in this journey, on our platform, and automated email blast to users. The goal was to able to do project relaunch, account confirmations, retargetting or even retention. It went great. We actually didn't even use it to its full potential. It has got so much in store. Cons It has got so many option. Absolutely a shame if you don't have someone who truly knows how to use it. Pros ActiveCampaign has so many integrations, a strong API, a marketplace for everything (including automation) a strong community and so much more. It's a mature platform, that's constantly getting more powerful. Cons The email editor is just horrible. It's clunky, it's ugly, it doesn't show all the sequence, even editing an email is a hassle. That's why I left ActiveCampaign. And customer service is reachable only by email. Which slows down the resolution of any issue. In questi anni di utilizzo abbiamo riscontrato in primis un aumento delle performance grazie all’incremento della deliverability. Dal punto di vista dell’implementazione tecnica, è un software molto semplice e pratico, in pochissimo lavoro il nostro reparto di tecnici è riuscito a fare l’integrazione con i nostri software e devo dire che, ad oggi, non abbiamo riscontrato problemi tecnici di alcun tipo. Cons L’unico inconveniente che mi sento di segnalare, è una condizione del tutto trascurabile per quanto mi riguarda: parlo della user interface. A mio avviso potrebbe essere curata meglio per rendere il software ancor più user friendly ma già così è un ottimo prodotto.
