Automating flow and designing workflows is a breeze with ActiveCampaign. Several tools we have integrated with it. Cons Occasionally, it is little slow. There are many areas for improvement here, including the email template builder, sign up forms, landing pages. there are some limitation creating the email template from the scratch. It's very useful for building funnels. Pros I love that this software gives you access to the best features at the entry level price. I highly recommend it to all of my clients. Cons The email builder could be more user friendly but it works fine. Reason for choosing ActiveCampaign The price. However when looking at any other provider - such as Mail Chimp, Aweber, Constant Contact - I would choose Active Campaign over every other competitor for the functionality. Review Source Dallisa H. They do not have an option that is in between 5,000 and 10,000 subscribers, and that's a shame. You're either in one bucket or the other between those two options. Pros I like that I can easily make notes and "tags" with my email contacts. It allows me to be more organized and understand my customers better. The "Tags" feature is what keeps me there! Cons I previously used an email platform that had very pretty email templates, and Active Campaign feels more "corporate" and "standard." You'd need to spend time developing your own graphics that you can drop into emails if you don't like their template look. Figuring out how everything talks to each other within AC has been a bit of a challenge, and I'd like to think I'm fairly tech savvy. I've taken multiple classes from them to try and learn my way around the system. It doesn't have the full depth of customizability for sales features that HubSpot or Zoho have, but for the price, it offers the required contact management features a salesperson would need. Pros ActiveCampaign offers a lot of great marketing automation features, has a nice interface for creating and editing web forms, and makes it easy to keep contact records organized. Cons ActiveCampaign has limits on items like the number of webforms you can create, which means if you have a big website, you cannot have one webform per page. That was what frustrates me most about the platform, but you get around it by categorizing pages instead. Also, it doesn't offer custom properties to differentiate users like Zoho does (by this I don't mean user fields; I mean different property types, like for example making one called Leads instead of the typical Contacts property type). HubSpot is free but with much limited features. For what ActiveCampaign offered, comparable plans for HubSpot were much more expensive. There's necessarily a degree of complexity that a non-dedicated resource needs to handle and AC does this really well. It's a tool of my business, not the main event. Cons It may exist, though I've never stumbled across it, but an opportunity to learn from the benefit of others - we shouldn't have to discover, learn and trial everything if others with similar needs have done so in the past. Remove inefficiency from my adoption of the platform. It has all the features I need at a price point I can live with. Pros ActiveCampaign is a full-featured email marketing provider. It's easy to set up and use the basic features, but it is also very capable and allows users to set up automations and advanced marketing funnels. It's easy to use if you only need basic email marketing features, but it's also capable of so much more if you are willing to put in the time to learn how to fully use its features. Cons While integration and setup are relatively straightforward, there is always a learning curve with new software. ActiveCampaign isn't inherently difficult to use, however, there is a learning curve and it does take time to learn how to properly set up your automations and funnels. We were looking for other options to expand out usage, but then determined all the aspects that ActiveCampaign offers and actually stayed with ActiveCampaign after meeting with other companies and speaking with ActiveCampaign to fully utilize what we had here. Cons We were worried about the size of our contact list, but then determined it was only needed if you send out regular emails to them and we are using ActiveCampaign for the automated users on our website. The automation features are honestly an insane value. You can effectively use this software to automate the work that would otherwise require tens of full-time staff in order to complete manually. Everything works as it should, their support is great when you need them (which in my experience has been infrequently), and the price is great. Cons II honestly have nothing bad to say. AC does a great job in my opinion of knowing what they're great at and focusing on that. They don't offer a bunch of useless bells and whistles like some other companies do, and they don't try to be something that they're not. AC does email automation, and they do it well. ActiveCampaign fits that spot nicely for me. I have what I'd consider enterprise-level features with respect to automation and behavior tracking, but at a much lower price point. Pros ActiveCampaign has a very deep feature set for the price. Yes, you can build and send emails, and that part works just fine. But the automation features are the standout, as you can build out rich engagement pathways based on user interactions. Cons The email editor can sometimes be buggy. If I copy a sent campaign to create a new one and then make changes, sometimes the changes don't save. I've made it a habit to make the change, save and exit. Then I'll go back in to the editor before sending out a test. Otherwise, I'll send the test and some of my changes revert to the old version for some reason. Also, there's not an easy "undo" in the editor. The application stores revisions and you can revert to prior revisions, but that seems more complicated than a simple undo button. They have autoresponders depending on a wide range of circumstances. They can also maintain your list of contacts and automate your contact list. The "Deals" system is wonderful since it lets you add notes next to contacts, schedule meetings with them, or send them direct messages (DMs) if you like. The "customer communications" feature allows you to customize your correspondence. This makes it easier for you to communicate with visitors in a way that is most relevant to them. It's an excellent tool for creating those connections and partnerships. Pros I appreciate that it is both highly efficient and simple to use. It's easy to use, has a ton of integrations, and is the most reliable if you're trying to build campaigns based on more than just one condition! I've used Hubspot in the past, but ActiveCampaign seems more reliable and they have a better customer support team. They are constantly improving their product and adding new features, which is something that I can't say about competitors. Cons I haven't noticed any negatives in this tool yet. Pros The main thing on the pro list is low cost or no cost depending on what you pick. The plans are subscriber based. Unlimited email and unlimited sequencing make my list too.There's also drag and drop creation, lead scoring, event tracking, automated campaigns, and a/b testing.I used the Google Analytics integration and I like it, I recommend adding it on. Cons Auto responders could be easier to set up. Customer service only answers by chat. There's no phone number to call even during regular business hours. I didn't know that until afterwards so I was bothered by it. The dashboard is confusing and cluttered to me. At least organize the important things into one section or menu. Cons I don't have 100% confidence is in the accuracy of the email campaign performance metrics. Click bots mess with our click through rates for example.
