I would wholeheartedly recommend this service to anyone interested in upping their email marketing experience. Pros ActiveCampaign's automation features are, hands down, amazing. Coming over from another email marketing system, I was SO impressed with how much more they had to offer. It truly took our emails to the next level! Cons There is definitely a learning curve, and it can be frustrating to figure out when you first get started. There are so many options, so many things you can customize, that it can get a bit overwhelming. I would not recommend it for beginners. That said, if you stick with it, it's incredibly powerful. There should be an 'undo'/redo' option when designing. More fonts. Reason for choosing ActiveCampaign considering Infusionsoft was the best at the time - and the AC was the only one on the market that had advanced tools, like contact scoring, interest tagging etc...there was no better option. WE've created multiple onboarding automations with AC's features that allow for granular targeting and dynamic content. and I'm still just scratching the surface of what's possible. Cons I think that the reporting could use some improvements to pull actionable insights. Also, have had problems when tracking too many events for a huge list, so sometimes "less is more" is the right approach. Cons The load speed and some features can be improved. But this is not something that stops you from utilising the software to help your business. It has a tons of very detailed tutorials that lets you learn your way around the software. Cons What I didn't like about the software is the need to upgrade your subscription when the number of people in your list increases and the onset 2-year lock-in period upon sign up. It's quite unreasonable if you ask me. I would recommend to those who need a form on their website and that want a separate form from another platform. Pros We use ActiveCampaign to manage lead generations from a form we built on it to get requests for information. The form has great usability and we really like the customizable fields in the forms. Cons Some of the fields are not fully customizable. We had an issue once where form submission emails were being sent non-stop due to a glitch, but I believe that was due to user error. The program has all features that you'd expect: tracks opens and clicks, number of clicks per contact, allows sending to multiple contact lists, and allows a good overview of campaign performance. I use ActiveCampaign to send weekly or bi-weekly newsletters - and the only difficult part is coming up with content, haha! Cons The only feature I'm REALLY disappointed by: I organize my leads into multiple lists, usually based on lead source (e.g. LinkedIn), or time in campaign, or profession, or their status in my pipeline. When I want to change a lead's status (e.g. from "new" to "contacted"), I have to unsubscribe them from one list, and add them to another. Unfortunately, they now feature as "unsubscribed" in the system - which makes it difficult for me to keep track of who unsubscribed by clicking the "unsubscribe" link, and who was simply moved by me to a different list. I strongly recommend them. Pros With Active, you really get excellent hand holding service while switching over to use them. Customer Service clearly cares about your company. But the best part is that the program makes it very easy to glean as much as possible from every e-mail campaign you set up. That allows for powerful automation of segmentation of the e-mail list. I also love how somehow Active "knows" so much about so many of the people who sign up. Often, Active will automatically provide you with a twitter feed or linked in that is connected to the person who subscribes to the list. Cons There are a huge amount of templates to choose from when designing a newsletter. Perhaps a bit more hand holding there would be useful. Review Source Jana R. For the price, it's incredibly affordable for such a robust marketing system. The people that do not like it tend to be the people that have not used it to its full capability. We're learning new things every day with this system. The customer service is great and usually pretty fast to respond. We bought ours through a reseller who has an amazing training program so you can either learn yourself or give the training to your VA to learn. Every person I've turned on to this system, LOVES it. They are always willing to support you as needed if you need a hand and their capabilities are truly endless when it comes to growing a business. Pros Active Campaign has some very in depth triggers in the automations which makes the automation piece highly customizable depending on your clients specific needs. I also think their tagging and segmenting features are setup in a great way that is easy to implement and understand. They also have top notch customer support. Cons The most difficult thing I find with Active Campaign is that it's not friendly for users with little to no tech experience. Some of my less techy clients have trouble understanding the system or how to even navigate to view reports, etc. Reason for choosing ActiveCampaign Active Campaign stands out because their system is such a clean and professional setup. They also offer many more features than the alternatives.
