Pros

I love the analytics of this software. Whenever I send an email or run a campaign, I am able to track who has opened the email and which links were clicked and by who. This really helps me to tailor my next emails based on audiences preferences. I also like the automation feature but it was a bit challenging to set up in the beginning. Thankfully, the help center is amazing and they were able to teach me how to set up automations and answer all of my questions.

Cons

The templates are extremely basic. I would like to see more designs that you see on mailchimp and hubspot. Also I have to pay for almost everything extra. If I have more contacts, I have to upgrade my plan. If I want to have my Shopify account sync with Active Campaign, I have to pay for that as well. The basic plan is great for entrepreneurs, but the a la carte features gets to be really expensive for small businesses.

Pros

I moved to Active Campaign from Mailchimp and from the very start was impressed with how user-friendly and easy to use the software was. I love the way Automations are organized, easy to create, easy to edit, and easy to integrate with other products outside of AC. Plus plenty of templates available. I was also impressed with the support - prompt and very helpful.

Cons

I am very aware that I don't use many of the options available within AC. But from the features, I am using right now there's nothing I didn't like.

You can automate anything with this smart and reliable email marketing platform.

Pros

My favorite feature is Automations. When you have a subscriber in your list, you can track everyone on your website and send them a particular message on any event you can imagine. Also you can fully customize your confirmation email for double opt-in, which is impossible for other email platforms like Mailchimp where you can change particular lines of text only. I also love that the support is available through the chat so you can ask any questions.

Cons

I wish it was more comfortable to view reports on your split-test campaigns as you can see the final results only, but not which version was winning and which confidence level was achieved. There were also a few issues I had with my automation but their support helped me to resolve it quickly.

Pros

For email campaigns, it provides drag and drop email editor and automation. It also has a built-in CRM system and also integrated with marketing and sales which allows business to automate IT sales process.

Cons

It has limited third-party tools integrations. Although it provides reports and Analytics but the kind of data it shows is limited.

I love how easy it is to automate longer emails to fans as a musician. It’s great for sending an intro to my music and brand.

Cons

It can be a big learning curve since you’re designing such a long stream of programs. Definitely hard to learn.

Pros

The tool seems complicated but easy to learn with a few tutorial. It can help you automate emails and create useful sequences. You can also do AB testing using the platform.

Cons

Although not a drawback, but a complimentary feature to build custom landing page would be very useful

Overall, my experience has been great so far. I am excited to build out this platform to fit the needs of 4+ businesses. Their onboarding webinars and one-on-one calls are great resources for learning and setting up the platform properly the first time. I would highly recommend to anyone juggling multiple businesses/accounts who need email marketing as well as CRM functionality, without having to pay an arm and a leg every month.

Pros

What drew me to ActiveCampaign originally were the extensive automation functions and the user-friendly CRM/Deals features. I'm thrilled that I only have to set up my automations once and then AC will continue to do the sloggy work for me. We are still in the midst of setting up and tweaking our CRM pipelines and processes, but I love how they integrate with the automations, and if using Zapier will integrate with even more of our stack.

Cons

There are a few quality of life things that I feel are missing, such as some form appearance properties (GetResponse, where we migrated from, has a form builder that is able to create a form that matches my website much better that AC), as well as being able to see the Due Date at a glance in Deals. Small inconveniences that I hope they will continue to build out in the future.

A big learning curve, plenty of good guides. Constant improvements, good support but not the one I and lots of other peole want, ie copy email to other people.

Pros

The automations and integral links to Shopify and Facebook. The organisation of Deals

Cons

The major problem is the lack of ability to copy an email to more than the recipient. The lack of this feature is putting the continued use of this product in doubt. The campaign emails work well but the standard emails do not give good formats.

It can be overwhelming for some people and there is a lot to learn, but it's tremendously powerful when you have a handle on what you want to do and see the possibilities it has.

Pros

The automation possibility is a lot better in AC than other email management systems. It integrates with tons of software without zaps as well, I'm always happy to work in AC compared to other programs.

Cons

It's kind of expensive, but it's worth it when you need more complicated automations.

Active Campaign allows me to better know my audience, their needs and push them to directly interact with my emails. It pushed me to reorganise my contact menu and homepage,segmenting between tourism companies and travellers + according to the type of service (guiding/consulting) or place (Basque Country/Asia). The guides and blog articles gave me a lot of new ideas. It also seems my subscribers buy more from my affiliate links.

Pros

I shifted from MailChimp to Active Campaign mainly because I wanted to to segment my audience. It is awesome to be able to send customised content and my audience engagement is awesome, just as the number of new subscribers. It provides me more than expected as it also forced me to make my offer clearer and my marketing better

Cons

It's necessary to take time to understand how the tool works. But it worths it and normal as it's a very powerful tool so the process can be complex. I think adding someone in the middle of an existing automation could be done easier. Adding a if condition takes too much time. I'd like to be able to click on an email and just add the person.

Reason for choosing ActiveCampaign

First, it's the tool recommended by my Australian business coach. Second, the ratio quality/price is perfect for my actual need. I could also do the free trial and see it was exactly what I was in need.

So far so good!

Pros

Getting used to ActiveCampaign was a bit of a learning curve. I'm not very techie but over time have become more comfortable with the platform. I use automations and campaigns regularly, and am growing my list! The automations have helped our business so much in the last few months and without such a solid email marketing system, we wouldn't be where we are now. So, thank you ActiveCampaign. I also love the tutorial videos, they are helpful to people like me that struggle a bit with new systems, and have a nice level of humour which makes them more accessible!

Cons

I struggled a lot with making a newsletter template that I love. I'm still not totally satisfied. And could have used some more sophisticated templates. I did read the blog articles to help, and loved the suggestions it offered, but the bridge between what I can actually do and how I'd love my newsletter to look is a pretty steep learning curve!

We run a ecommerce business and having a automation that follows up with our prospects who don't buy on the initial visit has exceeded my expectations.

Cons

Like other software tools there is a learning curve to go thru. The only suggestion would be to have videos that walk thru a step by step process on getting started. They do have videos but it was confusing to find them.

I love it. When I signed up, my initial sales experience and support was great. I also used the FB group which I found incredibly helpful. Overall, ActiveCampaign has become my go-to solution for our automations, and now we're looking to incorporate it into our service offering for clients.

Pros

I love how easy it is to set up automations and manage my contacts. I had never used a marketing automation platform before, but when we launched our video marketing service, I needed to deploy a pretty complex nurture campaign. I was able to get things set up in just a weekend and working - including the integration with our website, Zapier, etc.

Cons

I wish there was some kind of project management add-on or component or even a basic task manager / timer. That would help us eliminate another platform and do everything in ActiveCampaign.
