June 28, 2018 5.0 ActiveCampaign is a great email marketing partner that offers lots of functionality and room to grow. Pros ActiveCampaign was a step up from the popular email marketing companies I've used over the years. We made the switch when our email list grew and we needed a better way to segment them and dig a little deeper into their behavior. A plus, so far, is their deep integration with WooCommerce. There are other bells and whistles that we haven't tested out, yet. Cons Compared to other services the way Active Campaign is set up takes some getting use to. There's so much going on in the dashboard that it can be a challenge to find what you're looking for. Embarrassingly, it took 2 newsletters before I figured out how to view past newsletters (they go straight to the archive folder). It also allows for great customization for emails and comes with a decent enough CRM service so you don't need another piece of software. Cons Unlike services like Mailchimp, activecampaign does not come with a system that automatically scores contacts based on their engagement and overall quality. It automates most of the process and enables us to track EVERYTHING. What you can track - you can improve. It is quite simply awesome. Pros It treats contacts as ONE, even if they subscribe to multiple lists or offers, unlike many other providers. The automations, with tagging, deals and pipelines are incredible and enable the vendor to manage their database with extremely sophisticated and complex routines - all on autopilot and triggered by the actions of the customer. You can even trigger actions when your subscribers visit pages on your website and just about any other condition you can think of. Cons What I'd love the system to have is the export of the FULL data about the consumer and his/her interaction related activities. I had used a competitor previously and I have to say the functionality and ease of use are so much better! Pros I feel this software creates ease in making eye-catching marketing emails with their drag and drop features. I love that it works behind the scenes for me with automation and I am very satisfied with the personal customer service rep that helps me find ways to improve functionality. Cons While this product has great function causing it to be a step ahead of its competitors the pricing is significantly higher. From a design standpoint, adding photos in campaigns is quite tricky in sizing and moving it to fit within a campaign. Nowadays writing and sending email is the most powerful form of marketing there is and with ActiveCampaing is just so much easier. Cons I would love to see more fonts when writing and more freedom of being able to edit and place images in the email. However, the technical support is so atrocious that after a month's notice they still haven't been able to migrate tracking across so we are losing all our user stats and AC barely respond and when they do they create another ticket so you have to explain the problem all over again! The drip campaigns are a blessing so is the email option where we can send quote estimates with live links to our web pages. Pros It helped us not fill at least two admn positions. Saved us money, time and headache. It is very reliable and the automations are great.
