March 20, 2019 5.0 Pros AC has a better email designer, not that you want to send a designed email since plain text is powerful. But using the email designer to do a plain text email with some little edits here or there is the way to go with AC. Also, their opt in forms were easier to navigate than Drip. ACs automation workflow is excellent. They both work fine, but after doing trials for both, I picked AC. Also pricewise, they have a great entry point for lite. And their prices are overall lower than Drip. Cons \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] has mastered running free email course automation on Drip, and has shown some really impressive strategies that I have yet to replicate on Active Campaign. There is a blog post that describes how to recreate some of these attributes. Pros \- Whenever I encounter an issue they do everything they can to resolve it. - Price is mostly affordable for us. - Helped get our first email campaign off the ground. Great tracking and easy to send campaigns. Really awesome support for when you're stuck, too. Rarely do you need to do anything more than google the question and the ActiveCampaign support articles will come up. Pros The automated nature of emails and campaigns works perfectly. I came here because a "free" option was not being updated with new subscribers when they signed up for my free download. I use Active Campaign because I can't afford to have ANY subscribers slip through. I have total confidence with Active Campaign. Plus, I know I'll be able to use more and more features as my business grows. Cons Setting up automations is a little convoluted. Also, the contact page is not exactly intuitive. ActiveCampaign also integrates well with Zapier, so I’m able to link it up with my CRM, websites, and multiple landing pages to automate a lot of tasks, email capture, etc. I also like the campaign metrics, which show you how many people have opened your emails, clicked links, unsubscribed, etc. Cons Sorting through the contact lists can be a little clunky, but overall it doesn’t take away from anything. To be hones, I probably haven’t used AC’s full functionality. So some more training from the company would be appreciated; maybe I’m not using it correctly. Pros Automated emails, that look great. The Google extension allows us to easily add a contact to Active Campaign with ease and to tag them accordingly. Glad to see an app was finally released. Analytics are good. Cons The set up was a bit clunky. Customising the emails is a bit cumbersome at times too. I think these are fairly common issues with most CRMs and email automation tools though. For the price and really early on it was worth it, but as we grew we switched to Hubspot for easier use and more features. Pros The price, it was a lot cheaper than other CRM options. Cons The interface and UI were hard to use. Overall anytime I wanted to do something it seems like I had to take a lot of time to figure out how. Pros The ease in which I'm able to compose and configure my email automations has been amazing! My marketing campaigns have had so much more success compared to past campaigns, in many parts due to how I've been able to easily implement email into my strategy. Cons I had some technical hiccups when starting my first email automations - I found it tricky to drop my contacts back into an automation where I intended to. I haven't had any problems since!
