I'm blown away, to be honest. I never expected this much personal support from an ESP, and I keep winding up wonderfully surprised by just how much ActiveCampaign can do. I look forward to having this software grow with me and my business!

Pros

I made the switch to ActiveCampaign after using Mailchimp for years because I wanted the ability to get to know my contacts more intimately and to better communicate with them in personalized, relevant ways. I needed an email service provider, and what I got with ActiveCampaign was more - it's customer experience automation. I love how easy it is to get started, and how in depth this software is. The long I use it, the more I learn and am able to do with it. Also - the support from ActiveCampaign is AMAZING. I got stuck at one point early on, they could see I wasn't using the software, and someone reached out to me to help me get going again!

Cons

There is an intimidation factor, to be honest. ActiveCampaign can do SO MUCH, so when I was making the decision to switch, this caused me to pause. I was thinking - wow, it is going to take me a long time to learn this and it's frustrating to have to learn another software package. On advice from friends and colleagues in the entrepreneurial space, I decided it was worth the risk to try it out and see. And - it's true. There IS a lot. It DOES take time to learn and it is frustrating sometimes to learn how to do something that would have made things much easier if you knew it earlier.

ActiveCampaign can be a useful tool but you have to really determine if the cost is worth it because it is not super easy

Pros

A great deal of info can be collected about your leads and customers. Having a full history of the activities of their life cycle is useful. The vertical pipelines are easy to understand and set up allowing for a great visual of where people are at in the process.

Cons

For non-tech people, the software is not intuitive or easy to implement out of the gate. List clean-up and deleting of accounts is cumbersome. Setting up email campaigns is not quick. Setting up automation requires a knowledge base that many don't have. The product can be very costly as your list grows. They also limit the ability to delete contacts when you are trying to do a list clean ups. Customer service takes days to get answers and help even when you are at the enterprise level.

My overall experience is really good. I use it daily and have no regrets. I have used quite a few mail marketing systems, but nothing like Active Campaign.

Pros

Activecampaign is easy to use and has excellent support. They are easy to get in touch with and solve 99.9% of your challenges. AC is very intuitive and powerful. It is easy to set up with your website/webshop.

Cons

Some autofill functionality is missing. I had no technical problems.

Overall, I have found ActiveCampaign very easy to use and has helped my business become more organized and on the same page! The automations with the email marketing have been easy for me to use and customize especially since I am self-taught in e-mail marketing.

Pros

I feel like this product is visually appealing and easy to use! I was not familiar with other CRMS before ActiveCampaign and I love how user friendly ActiveCampaign is. I love how customizable everything is and how easy it is to navigate. I love all the features with email marketing, sales pipelines, contact organization and collaboration with my team members.

Cons

I felt overwhelemed at first using ActiveCampaign since there were so many features. Thankfully they offer many introduction trainings, one-on-one sessions with their specialists, and alot of online resources and articles. I have found their team members to be great trainers, help me custom my ActiveCampaign to meet our specific business needs and they respond to my questions very quickly via email!

It's been a great resource to keep track of our leads and share the pipeline with different team members. We love the option of uploading our leads through an excel file, which makes things easy for everyone and once you upload them, you can edit the information, save notes, set up follow-ups. It also has an 'email' tab that gives you visibility of all the emails you have sent to your saved contacts.

Pros

Everything! The layout is great if you want to see your pipeline and share it with different team members too. Everyone can make changes and move the leads through the different stages. The board view is super interactive and easy to use. We love the integration with Gmail too, super useful to see how much impact your email campaigns are making and the visibility of how many emails have been sent to each client without the necessity of going to your inbox to confirm.

Cons

The email function from Active Campaign, because sometimes you need something more customizable in terms of signature and addition of some elements.

Reason for choosing ActiveCampaign

Because we discovered that had numerous functionalities and integrations that could help us to keep track and visibility of our sales pipeline. It was great also to know that we could create different pipelines for different members.

When I started with Active Campaign everything seemed difficult but I managed to find online tutorials from some experts which opened up things for me. The software also has many onboarding sessions and tutorial and once I grasped the concept everything was smooth for me. All it needed was patience and a willingness to make it works

What I loved about this product is the email open rates and analytics.

Cons

The user interface is not newbie friendly but with a little bit of patience anybody can use Active Campaign.

Pros

Activecampaign sets the bar for building automations, with great sorting and filtering features including customer records, tags, lists, conditional rules/routing, e-commerce data such as purchases, crm pipelines and even a custom event layer. We have created very complex integrations for dozens of businesses ranging from E-Commerce stores, to Gyms to local businesses. It's really simple to learn and use, and powerful enough to tackle even the most complex business processes. This includes in-store purchases on a POS to sending out emails or automation's based on purchases or LTV. It also supports multiple E-Commerce platforms natively, but be aware those features are nearly 4x the price to unlock after the trial.

Cons

After months of issues that resulted in one of our clients losing an excess of $40,000 in revenue, we can no longer recommend activecampaign. Poor support was to blame for this issue, with it being impossible to get someone on a call even though we pay 6 figures a year for service. Activecampaign is growing really really fast. Because of this, They have pretty terrible support and there are also long-standing bugs that they seem to have no intention to fix. For instance, the system is supposed to generate previews for each automation's email steps and in various other places, but instance shows a broken image. We have inquired about this to the support to be told they are aware it's been broken for over a year and have no ETA or intention on repairing it. We have this problem on all our client's accounts(dozens), and it's a serious issue with UI/UX but they don't seem to care. There are also some major logic issues, such as if you filter an automation to show anyone with 0 purchases, it doesn't work. We also inquired about this but got another non-response... So basically, where it works, it works well but there are a few major issues and they don't seem intent on repairing them, even though they are steady releasing more features to add to their pricing tiers. Overall, it's hard to find another system that provides the ease of use, features, and value of activecampaign but the support and existing bugs are a nasty/necessary compromise.

In the 8 years that I've been setting clients up it's been worked great. The first client that I setup, still uses it! The features and options are what make AC our go to platform. Moving to AC often reduces our clients tech stack overhead.

Pros

The combination of the UI and all the features makes this a no-brainer for us. We can easily manage email marketing or set our clients up to do it. In no instance has this been a bad choice. Typically, what makes the difference from the existing platform is the automation features. Our clients get to benefit from automated workflows gaining more engagement without additional costs.

Cons

I only would like for the dashboard to be more customizable and lead data driven. I think the reporting can be presented better.

Positive! I have used Hubspot, MailerLite, Mailchimp (free + $$), Salesforce, and this one is definitely the best at the most affordable rate.

Pros

The segmenting on other products is painful but not with activecampaign. In addition to that, the sequences are easy to set up and it filters clients so seamlessly which I find many companies have a hard time accomplishing.

Cons

I'd like the software to be able to prioritize one sequence, then play the next sequence if there are multiple tags against one email so the client isn't receiving an inundation of emails all at the same time.

### "The automations work like a charm"

We are using Mailblue, which is a certified partner of ActiveCampaign and makes their software available in my native language and with Dutch support. This makes it quite easy to get support when you need it. We were looking for a tool with e-mail, automation and lead scoring features. As we didn't have any in-house knowledge about these (especially the tools), I've done some research. ActiveCampaign came out as the tool with the best functionalities for the best price (through Mailblue). This made me decide to start a demo, and eventually get the software. So far, it does exactly what I need and at this time it doesn't cost me a lot of time to figure out how to use it. The only thing is we currently don't really use the lead scoring mechanism as it needs a lot of tweaking (on our side). But as all other features are working really well for me, we're still happy users of the software.

Pros

The flexibility of the tool is something I really like. It's quite easy to use your own email templates, which are (as long as you keep it simple) completely adjustable as well as responsive. Besides that, the automation part is working like a charm. By using your own tags and fields you can practically do anything you want.

Cons

I am still trying to figure out how to set up a link with our current CRM. As ActiveCampaign has their own CRM built in, this is not one of the key futures. For our business however, we only use ActiveCampaign for the e-mail marketing and automations (so only the marketing department is using this tool). The entire company is built on the use of our CRM, so we'd like to see all of the ActiveCampaign data on there for a complete report.

Pros

What I like about active campaign is that it's very fast I've never had any issues with it great security and I'm able to do everything from one dashboard setup was also very easy as well.

Cons

The only thing I could say that I like lease is I wish it could be a little bit cheaper as active campaign is more on the high end side so a lot of people still can't afford it.

Pros

Active Campaign is a software that I use to do email marketing and automation within various activities, the first thing I can say is that the ease of use: importing contacts, managing lists, delivering messages is the strong point. Then managing the automation flows is a bit like making a game. Simple and easy. Fun too.

Cons

There are no major difficulties in using this software and also I had the pleasure of taking advantage of a one to one meeting directly with an expert who followed me in the first steps. The rest came by itself.

Our nonprofit organization uses Salesforce NPSP for our system of record but chose Active Campaign over all other marketing automation systems because of the intuitive nature of building automations and the ease of training other staff. Customer service is a real boon when you get stuck, the live chat provides immediate troubleshooting and they are extremely knowledgable in the system. Unlike other platforms, they are not just call center reps that open a ticket and leave you hanging until a tech expert can call you back.

Pros

Automation - the visualization tool makes designing your automations to meet your objectives much easier and faster. It's intuitive.

Cons

The Salesforce Integration. It is a bare minimum integration that could use some work to make more robust and eliminate the integration challenges associated with 3rd party apps like Zapier.

Automation is complete and can be used in many scenarios. The fast and helpful support (especially with configuration) and the prices are also suitable for small companies. ActiveCampaign is the cheapest in the long run compared to other systems and offers an incredible amount of interfaces with other programs and therefore offers maximum flexibility.

Pros

We especially like the open philosophy with numerous interfaces, which we use for integration into our website and lead generation and management. The software is characterized by good usability, and the automation is easy to use after a short learning phase. The accessibility and reliability of the platform are also great.

Cons

There are no real disadvantages; however, there could be more email templates.

Reason for choosing ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign can be used for lead generation with easy website integration (forms can be linked, depending on the website builder). Campaign automation is a great advantage. Transparent lead management with lists, automation and tags. Email segmentation, dynamic content creation, contact and lead scoring, and last but not least, automatic email communication with customers and prospects.

It makes it very easy to track the customer across the lifecycle from lead to customer and longer term as well, with good alerts, capability to write and send emails natively, complex marketing sequence management, reporting, and more.

Cons

The thing I like least is it is a bit on the expensive side compared to competitors but the functionality is worth it and better if you need that in your marketing business.

Es muy buena y con los años he ido adquiriendo muchisima experiencia en el manejo de sus herramientas, estoy muy conforme.

Pros

Las posibilidades que tienen sus automatizaciones son espectaculares, pues va más allá de crear el típico flujo. En mi caso, las utilizo mucho para crear informes personalizados junto con los campos personalizados. Incluso he podido crear flujos automáticos para clasificar el compromiso de los suscriptores y darlos de baja de manera sencilla a aquellos que están menos comprometidos.

Cons

El precio, sobre todo porque hace apenas unos meses han agregado un precio por cantidad de envíos, cosa que antes no estaba, eran ilimitados y ahora no lo es. Eso para mi opinión es una contra porque era una característica competitiva para AC en el mercado. Ojalá eso lo vuelvan a revisar. En mi caso mucho no me afecta pues mis bases de datos son pequeñas y no realizamos email marketing diario... Pero en cuanto la base comience a crecer nos lo deberemos replantear.

Although I'm fairly new to AC, I manage it for multiple others at my organization, so I've been deeply entrenched in it for the last 4 months. The learning curve wasn't too steep, the onboarding/training were all very good, and any time I've had an issue, the Customer Service has been top notch. There are some minor issues that are clunky (as described above) and I'd like an easier way to do reporting/analytics, but no software can do everything. All in all, their service and their respectable feature list make AC a very good value and a good choice for anyone who isn't total Type A :)

Pros

The Customer Service is stellar, especially for being chat-based. As a previous HubSpot user (which is prohibitively expensive), AC comes pretty close to delivering all the essential features and the ease of use between the two platforms is night and day. AC is, for the most part, pretty intuitive. They also have better onboarding/training.

Cons

There are some seemingly very basic features that are missing. That being said, I'm able to create 'workarounds' to get what I need, but the workarounds do cause unnecessary work. Specifically, I can't automate task assignment at the Contact or Account level so I have to create and organize wholly unnecessary Deals and Deal Pipelines to do what I need to do. The other (minor) frustration is not being able to customize/save multiple views. I can add columns to views and that will stay put, but the default ordering of pretty much every page is alphabetical. For instance, when I switch the Contact view to sort by Date Created, if I navigate into a contact record or another page, the list reverts to being sorted alphabetically. Same with the Automations page, etc. I want to set custom sorts that are my own defaults (preferably multiple custom sorts/views). And I want it to remember to show me records by the 100s, not 20 at a time. It's little stuff, I know, but the constant extra clicks does get tedious.

HubSpot was exceptionally expensive, especially when you wanted to add marketing to your CRM...like, those two things should be mutually exclusive, I'd think. But no. It was also more difficult to use, mostly because the features were exhaustive. I didn't use 80% of the capabilities of HubSpot but still had to pay as if I were.

### "Great for more than just traditional email marketing "

So far I've had a very positive experience and I am very excited to see how it helps me meet my goals in the future.

Pros

I likw that there are so many different features built right into the price you pay to have the service. It is not a bunch of additional new costs that have to be added in everytime you want to try a new feature.

Cons

It is difficult to learn and can take a lot of focused time to really get the most out of it. You almost need one person solely dedicated to kerning and understanding it when you are trying to get it up and running.
