Owner Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Why ActiveCampaign is Great" December 6, 2022 5.0 Pros I was previously using Hubspot and needed to set up marketing automation for email sequences and nurturing. To do this in my previous platform, I would have had to pay hundreds of dollars a month just to unlock basic automation features. Whereas an active campaign has all of these features and I pay less than a hundred dollars a month. ActiveCampaign is fantastic for email marketing, and marketing automation like list building and managing and sending lead magnets. Cons To me ActiveCampaign is a marketing first platform - which it does great - and a sales platform second. Sure it has a deals pipeline, but it lacks compared to tools like PipeDrive. I went from sending out 3 campaigns a year, with very little automation, to sending out emails every week and a ton of personalized and specific automations going out. It's been great! Pros The contact tracking, with multiple segments and tags, allows me to run automations for various client types and send them targeted content tailored to their interests. Setting up the automations was super simple, and the templates I've created make new campaigns easy to get off the ground. Cons I feel that there are a lot of features I don't actually use, but would probably benefit from. I think the problem is that there's TOO much, so if I don't know what to look for it's hard to know what I'm missing. It feels like there's a solution around almost any problem when it comes to managing leads and automating things. This all makes it really easy for us to segment and personalize our experience for contacts. Cons There are a few annoying things and limitations when it comes to the interface and UX. It has improved a lot over the last couple years, but still not perfect. E.g. I can't sort a list of contacts by Date Created when search conditions are applied. Most of them want a large fee to sign up with. I liked AC allot because I was not sure how much time I was going to have to play with it. So I learn the ropes now at my own pace - Then upgrade when we have the contacts. Pros I have only scratched the surface of Active Campaign, however it has really been a helpful tool to connect and up-sell our current client list. I literally wanted to start getting my feet wet this year so we could use the platform as a option in our internet marketing arsenal. My company is growing so fast at this point that we are spreading yourselves thin. My objective was to attend study hall but time has been swallowing us up. - This is a good think I guess. The current interface is good but I think you could sit down with your developers and really polish it up a bit. I use it for my self and for some customers to which I recommend ActiveCampaign. Pros The most I like about Active Campaign is it's automation features. Befor ActiveCampaign I was looking after for a Eail MArketing Software with automation capabilities, and when I read about ActiveCamapign I switched from another software to AC. Cons I have not discovered any cons in ActiveCampaign so far. I'm not telling it's perfect at all, but there are no cons form me until now. May be I can consider as a cons the gap in price between my current plan to the next plan, but I think it is worth the price. The switch over to ActiveCampaign was also extremely well done, I had support of a team member leading me through every step, advising me on the best set up for my needs. Pros I like the amount of data it captures to help me with my marketing, and I enjoy the ability to have an intuitive system of tagging and ranking my subscribers so I can see who is highly engaged and who may need some extra help to engage. I also really appreciate the higher deliverability rates and the amazing customer service. Cons I wish I could set the font and the font size as a template when I'm writing emails, ie have it default to the font I want, instead of it going back to another font. Love the free downloadable premade automations too. Cons Not sure to be honest. I think there are many things that I don't know about the software that I probably should to utilise it to the max. The software itself is the best email autoresponder we've ever used.Positives: Making the switch to ActiveCampaign was a wise business move. It has been simple to create automations and flows that are triggered by user action, and I appreciate how responsive their customer care is.Cons: This software has a steep learning curve. The dashboard lets me see analytics in one spot and the customer service is very helpful. Pros I love how intuitive the setup is- I was an email marketing software newbie and MailChimp drove me batty, so when ActiveCampaign was recommended, I was wary. It has exceeded my expectations and has been a great experience! Even when I can't read the directions correctly and set something up incorrectly, the customer service team is quick to help, and even send a video of what to do in my account so I can just follow the steps. AC is the best. Pros Very easy to use and set up. My team started using it quickly once training was done. Cons I didn't found it easy to sync the emails sent and received to a customer on AC. I don't know if this feature exists, but if it does I still don't know how to use. I would like to send emails manually for a contact on sales pipeline from AC contact page (once I click a deal and then click on the contact this page is shown). I'd like to send emails manually on this page and would like the history to stay on the same place that shows the automations emails that were sent to this contact.
