Pros What I liked most is that for what I needed they had right out of the box. There was not much uptime required for me to understand the software and how to use it. Cons The thing I liked least about the software probably was the setup and somewhat rigid automations. They could not answer if the problem was me or the software. Got a refund but certainly not compensation for all the time I spent. Pros Found no pros to keep me with it. I paid for 2 months past trial period but got a refund because it could not do what I wanted and could get no answer from tech support as to why it was not working. Cons I tried Active Campaign because it was recommended by another software program I am using. Can't say it is a bad choice but may not be for everyone. " January 4, 2023 3.0 The reason for 3/5 is because all the features it offers, you can get with any other provider. The big difference is that this platform is SLOW. Think dial-up slow. You make a change and the page load for 10-15 seconds before it performs the function. I have High-Speed Fibre Internet (download speed of 3 Gbps), full bars, other apps running fine and Active Campaign struggles to run. This is a known issue (search AC slow? on Reddit). Again, do your research and proceed with caution!Although you might be saving some time automating workflows, you will burn time literally sitting there and watching the platform attempt to perform the task. I've used other platforms (Mailchimp) that never had this problem, so I'd just take its slow speed into serious consideration before moving forward. But the switching of servers has darkened a very good product. The key factor in any email marketing software is deliverability. Both times they switched our servers the servers that they put us on were so poor that emails within our own domain would be picked up by our spam filters and placed in quarantine. Pros \- Very easy to create templates - Vast automation tools - New app integrates well with Salesforce Lightning Cons Immediately after renewing our service (twice) our sending servers were switched which created deliverability issues. After considerable back and forth with their deliverability team, we were finally switched to a third server which was better for deliverability. Depending on the level you purchase, you also get dedicated training sessions to make sure you really are using the tool to the fullest. The knowledge center is very helpful as well. The interface is simple to use and the automations are very easy to set up. Pros ActiveCampaign offers excellent value for anyone looking to set up or migrate to an email marketing and automation tool. The interface is easy to navigate and the logic of the system is easy to learn. Comparing this to other systems, you get a ton of value for the cost-effective investment in the tool. Even the lower price levels have most of the features you'll need and it is easy to scale up or down as you need. Plus, their customer service has been on point. Cons The landing page creator could be more user-friendly and I wish there was an option to host media files. To do this in my previous platform, I would have had to pay hundreds of dollars a month just to unlock basic automation features. Whereas an active campaign has all of these features and I pay less than a hundred dollars a month. ActiveCampaign is fantastic for email marketing, and marketing automation like list building and managing and sending lead magnets. Cons To me ActiveCampaign is a marketing first platform - which it does great - and a sales platform second. Sure it has a deals pipeline, but it lacks compared to tools like PipeDrive. I went from sending out 3 campaigns a year, with very little automation, to sending out emails every week and a ton of personalized and specific automations going out. It's been great! Pros The contact tracking, with multiple segments and tags, allows me to run automations for various client types and send them targeted content tailored to their interests. Setting up the automations was super simple, and the templates I've created make new campaigns easy to get off the ground. Cons I feel that there are a lot of features I don't actually use, but would probably benefit from. I think the problem is that there's TOO much, so if I don't know what to look for it's hard to know what I'm missing. It feels like there's a solution around almost any problem when it comes to managing leads and automating things. This all makes it really easy for us to segment and personalize our experience for contacts. Cons There are a few annoying things and limitations when it comes to the interface and UX. It has improved a lot over the last couple years, but still not perfect. E.g. I can't sort a list of contacts by Date Created when search conditions are applied. Most of them want a large fee to sign up with. I liked AC allot because I was not sure how much time I was going to have to play with it. So I learn the ropes now at my own pace - Then upgrade when we have the contacts. Pros I have only scratched the surface of Active Campaign, however it has really been a helpful tool to connect and up-sell our current client list. I literally wanted to start getting my feet wet this year so we could use the platform as a option in our internet marketing arsenal. My company is growing so fast at this point that we are spreading yourselves thin. My objective was to attend study hall but time has been swallowing us up. - This is a good think I guess.
