Love it with creating emails automations for birthdays, anniversary of clients and customers with specials offers. Also it has best landing page campaign management. Pre build and ready to use automation for shopify for left product in cart remembering emails to customers is awesome.

Pros

in latest September update to email automation now you can create custom fields in marketing emails. Other automation features like customer or client birthday and anniversary date special offer or greetings can be automated from contact lists. Integrated forms are available so when someone fills a form whole campaign starts to turn lead into customer or sale. This campaign can be automated within with a trigger of "new form filled"

Cons

It has a very complicated layout when creating automations.

So far it is sleek and professional but I just don't think I am using its functionality properly.

Pros

I love that it is not branded so the customer really has a professional experience when receiving emails from my company. There is nothing more 'cheap-looking' than to receive an email with 'mailchi&p' at the bottom. I also appreciate the easy unsubscibe button for clients so I dont feel like I am hasstleing them. It is also great to see who has unsubscribed so I can also take them off the christmas card list!

Cons

I had issues having to reload ALL my social media links EVERY email. This is a right pain. I would really like to have a free 20min coaching session with one of your members to make sure I am using the software as much as I can and to talk me through any tips and tricks on my account to allow me to make better use of Activecampaign and really understand all its time-saving features.

ActiveCampaign have addressed various missing features in the last year or so, and while there is a way to go, it is great to see that workarounds I've previously had to undertake now have a direct solution.

Pros

The automations are great, with various triggers available Once you know your way around, it's pretty easy to use Good mix of automation & CRM

Cons

The layout isn't the most intuitive Lacks the ability to see high level views of contacts in various automations

ActiveCampaign is a good option if you manage small-medium samples of clients, we manage thousands of people and sometimes it fails in some automation.

Pros

It's easy to track information of deals, managing pipelines, creating a sales funnel. ActiveCampaign allows me to create several custom fields to track info and also allows me to export that info into CSV files, which is awesome to combine with PowerBi.

Cons

Sometimes, not that unusual, automation fails. We have to be in constant check about that and turns out to be not that autonomous as I wish it would be.

We were able to solve several issues with ActiveCampaign on daily and weekly communications front that we had struggled with using other platforms. Additionally, the tracking features within the platform are great too.

Pros

ActiveCampaign is one of the essential components and glue to allow us to automate and communicate to our contacts. Specifically, the connectivity options and customization are far advanced than other CRM platforms we tried.

Cons

My only “wish list” item is that it had more native integrations to particular platforms.

I email my list every day, it's quick and simple. It seamlessly connects with my website for email opt ins and I've never had a technical glitch. I honestly love it.

Pros

I love active campaign. It may not be the cheapest but compared to the cheaper email marketing platforms in the market it's leaps and bounds ahead and well worth the slightly higher price. User friendly, easy to navigate and never had a technical error.

Cons

Could be a little confusing to use as a newbie but doesn't take long at all to get used to it.

Pros

I like the functionalities - much more than I currently need

Cons

The pricing is a challenge for a start-up business like mine.I understand that the pricing needs to be linked to something but to scale it with number of active users independent from how many features one uses, does not seem like the fairest solution to me. There are much cheaper products on the market for my needs. However, as Active Campaign was flexibel towards my needs, I decided to stay and grow here.

Pros

The user interface is very logical and the support team is absolutely fantastic. They charge more for premium support but it is worth it - and it's still cheap compared to similar products.

Cons

I don't love the design capabilities. I feel like MailChimp emails look better. There are work-around features that make emails look nice but not as gorgeous as I would like. Also, the functionality of the forms and reporting could be better.

Marketo is a rip-off. Their landing pages look terrible and it is not user-friendly. You are better off using Unbounce for landing pages (or something else, e.g. Instapage).

Pros

The marketing automation features are my favourite

Cons

Reliability is not 100%. The interface is not great in Safari. The mobile app is not super useful. the CRM/ Sales pipeline are weak.

I'm quite happy using ActiveCampaign. Compared to my old email marketing software I can fairly say ActiveCampaign is VERY realiable. It also offers a verification to make sure you email is not classifies as spam. I'm not very techie and doesn't have much time to investigate all the possibilities the software offers, but I see there are a lot, like you can you can customize the route of each of your contacts through the many possibilities for sending each email. So far I don't have any complaint. Except maybe it is not so easy to use and not so visually attractive, but the reliability it offers it's definitely worth it.

Pros

It offers so many different possibilities in almost every single aspect: division of your lists, tags for each contact, email sequences, automatizations...

Cons

Creating your email or your templates is not so easy or intuitive. If this is the first email marketing software that you use, you will probably have to watch some tutorials and do some trials before you are happy with the result.

Pros

What I like the most is the automation tool it is very user friendly and has lots of options. The segmentation options are great too overall it's a very professional software.

I believe the integrations are a little bit harder to use

So far it's been amazing. When I first got started, I received 3 free calls with an Active Campaign Expert to show me around the platform and help customize my experience. Whenever I have a question, they are always there to help answer it.

Pros

I love the level of functionality on Active Campaign. This is an insanely powerful platform to track all of your leads. I have also never had better email deliverability.

Cons

To be honest, there is nothing I don't like about Active Campaign as of yet.

The features rival those of high end automation suites (which cost in the $1,000's), with tracking and tons of automation options, at an extremely competitive price. It seems like they pretty much copied MailChimp's pricing (which is low), and undercut it by $5-10. The only con is the documentation isn't always so clear for every feature, and they're constantly updating (which is good), so the documentation is sometimes outdated. That said, they have chat support that I've been able to get a hold of within 5 mins all three times I contacted them who are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Pros

Price lower than mailchimp Features better than most (all?) marketing & automation suites Good UI White labeling (if you're into that) Excellent support The list goes on and on...

Cons

Documentation doesn't keep up with development (not comprehensive) Lists are confusing; why do you need lists when you have tags? Apparently you need separate lists if you want different confirmation pages.

Thanks for the kind comments! We have plenty of updates coming out in the near future for email, automation, and our CRM. Lists are definitely more of a legacy item and tags are quickly growing to eventually replace them in most aspects. Things like the confirmation pages/forms/etc.. will all be updated to support that type of thinking in the future.
