Pros: Sending and processing claims is very easy. Note taking is easy to do as well and it has many different templates to choose from. Printing and sending invoices and using it for reports is also easy to do. Can also offer clients to use their credit cards with this software.

Independent practitioner? - hire a biller, you'll have to anyhow.

Pros: Nice people at customer service. If you secretly wanted to be a bookeeper/biller - and enjoy spending time trying to figure out software, you'll love this.
Or, If you were just hoping to pay for the billing software for the biller you're going to hire - even better.

Cons: If you are an independent practitioner who thinks you will be able to use this and it will be user friendly rather than your having to learn how to be a biller - think again. You will end up paying for this and paying a biller to use it to do your billing. Probably better to just go hire a biller.

Pros: There is a bit of a learning curve at first, but this software is relatively easy to use once it is set up.

Cons: After being a committed customer for some years they locked me when my credit card was denied due to fraud. I communicated this to them and told them I'd have a new card shortly, but that didn't stop them. I needed to access patient data but was blocked. I feel this is insensitive and even unethical.

Rubin, we're sorry for the misunderstanding. When a payment is declined for any reason, the system automatically sends an email explaining what happened and then prompts the user for a new payment method when they next log in. The first time you contacted us via email, we did not understand that you were asking us to move your billing date another week or so because that is when you expected to receive a new business card. By the time we figured it out, you had already entered a new payment method and were using your account.

I'm glad I stuck around for Version 2.0. Easy to use, easy on the eyes, intuitive.

Pros: ALL customer service agents are consistently accessible and helpful; a big reason for my being a customer for the past 3 years.

Overall: Prior to version 2.0 I felt the software was out of date and clunky (after a year or so since beginning using My Clients Plus), but that is resolved. I am truly satisfied.

I had no idea how much I would love My Clients Plus.

Pros: It has been the easiest and most efficient billing system that I have ever used and I have been doing my own billing for 25 years.

Cons: There may be a few little glitches here and there and sometimes it may be me not figuring out the problem. I will start making note but obviously it is no problem in terms of my satisfaction.

Comments: Overall I think My Clients Plus is an excellent product. I found it relatively easy to use and since I am not tech savvy that says a lot. I do think some aspects can be more convenient and user friendly so hopefully those will change. By far the best customer service around!!

Overall: I have been using the software for about 1 year. It is very easy to learn and use, while fulfilling all of my 'back office' needs & clinical needs for documentation. When I have had questions, the customer service team have consistently been FANTASTIC; friendly, professional, great understanding of the software, take as much time with me on each call, never giving me the sense that they need to go and be with other costumers. Helpful doesn't give them justice! I recommend the product to all of my clinical friends.

Recommendations to other buyers: Well worth the monthly investment.

Overall: A few weeks ago I started with My Clients Plus and I am very glad that I did! What I appreciate most is the customer support and the time the support team has taken with me by phone to help me get on track with the system. They are patient, friendly, upbeat and just a pleasure to work with. What's most assuring to me is knowing that when I get stuck they are just a phone call away!! I am very, very please with the billing program and give it an A+++.

Cons: Not sure; likely I need to explore creating my own note.

Overall: After 10 years working for agencies, I launched a private practice and found myself on a surprisingly confounding and frustrating learning curve (and, sometimes, costly). For someone with a practice that is small, MyClientsPlus offers a very easy-to-use website, and a billing system (and credit card feature) that so far, seems to - amazingly! - work, with very little expense. I would certainly suggest that any person expect a certain amount of frustration, but if that person is willing to put in the effort, and judiciously use the EXCELLENT customer service to answer questions (in a very timely manner) , then they should expect, within a fairly short period of time, to find success with this website. I am very pleased.

Pros: many good features and functions, clinical note templates can be copied and modified for the newest session.

Cons: billing and marking payments and write offs is a nightmare.

Overall: I endured the learning curve on three separate occasions and gave up after months of work each time. Gave up due to the non-intuitive ways things can go wrong and cannot be fixed except with tech support and deleting whatever you did and starting over. (e.g. mark something paid when it isn't, or insurance reclaims something they paid for error and you have to delete the original session and re-enter all dates in order to make things right!)

Overall: I've been using this software for over 8 years. It allows me to do my own billing for my Psychotherapy practice. It's the fraction of the cost of hiring someone and when I have questions, they are quick to respond and help resolve the issue I'm experiencing. They come highly recommended by me

Overall: I started my private practice 3 months ago. Insurance billing was new for me as I previously worked in a clinic that took care of all of those details. As I have been familiarizing myself with the program, as well as the details of billing issues in general, I had several questions, mess-ups, and special situations; all of which were my errors. When I contacted customer service via their email, they were AMAZINGLY fast, helpful, and thorough! Every time I contacted them, they responded within 24 hours with helpful directions and scheduled time to talk with me over the phone to walk me through some more challenging steps. My rep was spectacular! Thank you, MCP! I can't tell others enough about your excellent customer service! Way to go!

Overall: I've been using MCP for over a year and the customer service is incredible. I made a horrible error deleting a bunch of information accidentally, and I got very concerned about it. I had such good prior experience with their customer support that I decided to read out to them before freaking out too much. My expectation was that the error I made could not be reversed. Not only did they reverse my error, they did it in a matter of minutes!!!! Their customer support is exceptional and it's nice to know they are always available to answer questions and resolve what seem big problems!

Pros: The help section of the software package walks the user clearly through steps necessary to set up functions and features to easily customize the product to meet my needs (ie: insurance companies, billing sources, Medicare).

Overall: I am a Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Massage Therapist. After great word of mouth recommendations, and an unbeatable monthly investment for My Clients Plus, I have just enrolled in the 30 day trial period. I work with Transgender and Gender Variant clients, and as I began to enter my first client's information, I realized that the gender designation in the patient setup template only allowed for male or female. My client does not identify as male nor female. I reached out to Dawn Warren, who had sent me an introduction and welcome e-mail when I enrolled. In less than two days, Dawn had proposed a solution to add an option to the system for "Unknown" for Gender, which would meet electronic claim transmission guidelines. The very next day, Male, Female or Unknown were available gender marker choices. I am continuing to explore the many functions of My Clients Plus, recognizing the many features for the value. So far, I am very impressed!

Recommendations to other buyers: Great value and support, an obvious superb investment for healthcare providers in small groups or private practices.

Pros: The ease of using the program and the simple menu screen are some of my favorite things. Being able to see which clients have insurance issues within 24 hours makes following up more efficient. The ability to electronically receive EOB's and scheduling are also favorite features.

Cons: Not being able to add messages to individual statements.

Overall: The customer service is amazing. Someone always answers the telephone and can walk you through the most complex questions to the simplest. Very friendly and easy to work with. The actual program is very user friendly and the help videos are easy to follow.

Comments: For me, MyClientsPlus is literally a dream come true in the world of mental health/behavioral health providers. I can't reiterate how easy to use (where at times I can be technically challenged), easy to understand and follow with all the intricacies and challenges of insurance, billing, and claim payments. I also think their templates for client notes is all inclusive and extremely comprehensive. Also, whenever I call for questions, the customer service reps are seriously the nicest, most patient individuals!!! Comments: The product is easy to learn and use. Of course there are a few things they could do to make it easier, like all software. The customer service is the best I have ever had with any product. I rarely have to wait more than a minute or two on hold. It is located in the good 'ole USA...All the staff are very knowledgeable, and take their time to answer all questions. The monthly fees are also very reasonable. I am a psychologist, and my husband does my billing. We had to learn how to do the billing and MCP staff helped us learn how to do it. Thanks MCP, keep up the good work. We are fans!!!

Comments: As a private practitioner...I have to keep costs down. This product is MORE than reasonable. And it's amazing! It keeps track of billing, payments, my client data, progress notes, everything all in one place! This saved me from going to each insurance's website and submitting claims, and from keeping separate spread sheets for payment, outstanding claims, etc. The billing process itself is much easier than anything any of the insurance companies offer on their sites. This product keeps everything in one convenient place and I can access it anywhere. I also use the calendar which enabled me to eliminate a paper calendar. All records are now electronic! A HUGE factor for me is the customer service. I ALWAYS get a response to my questions within a few hours and the reps are VERY patient and so nice!!! Sadly.....when dealing with customer service with insurance companies or any other place I need to contact.....that is usually not the case! I have had 100% prompt, professional responses since I have used this program! I recommend it to anyone!!!

Comments: I'm been with MyClientsPlus since 2006 and I love it. I put the client's info in once and can track sessions, notes, billings, payments, etc. easily. I can quickly print out a statement or see YTD payment reports. The price is extremely reasonable for unlimited electronic billing for a sole practice and I love the ease of applying payments to client's accounts. Customer service is always quick, helpful and cheerful. I highly recommend this product!

Comments: I have been extremely pleased with this software and customer service. It has been a lifesaver for me as the bookkeeper/ billing agent of an independent mental health practitioner's office. As a spouse with no medical billing experience, it was easy to understand with tutorials and wonderful customer service. Without it, we would have had to hire that work out. Comments: I've been using MCP for about a year now and absolutely love it! I am not computer savvy, but MCP is so user-friendly and efficient to use. As a solo practitioner, I do my own billing and it just takes minutes with MCP. Using MCP has also significantly reduced the amount of income lost due to claims processing issues. In addition, the customer service department is exceptional with reps that respond quickly and give easy-to-follow, detailed instructions. Very helpful! I would highly recommend MCP!

Comments: I switched to MCP two months ago and it was one of the best decisions I made. The monthly fee is unbeatable and it offers everything I need as a solo practitioner. It took me a few days to get accustomed with it. Very user friendly. In the previous system I used, I was not able to submit electronically to the secondary insurance. With MCP it is literarily just one click after I receive the ERA from primary insurance. Customer service is also excellent. I am very happy to do the switch, which I was dragging out of fear that I would not be able to establish in the new system quickly. It was very smooth with one-month free trial. Very happy.

Comments: My Client's Plus has done an amazing job of helping us weather the storms of change in the Kentucky Medicaid system. We may not have survived without them. Tech support is superb. The programmers listen. The price is affordable. And the turn around time on claims keeps us viable. We had a lot of paper dependent providers to train in a very short time period. They have been very pleased with the change and report a decrease in paperwork stress.

The phone was answered fairly quickly, the reps were always knowledgeable, and eager to help me learn. They never made me feel foolish because I did not understand something. The software was fairly easy to learn. I like to talk to a person to help me learn, so that's why good customer support is so important to me.

Comments: I have been with this company for 5+ years. I have failed to let them know how great they are....everything has been smooth...Then Medicare Idaho changed some billing procedures. What a mess for me!!! I wasn't notified by Medicare , therefore, I was outside the loop...a huge loop!! I am not as computer savvy as most...THANK GOODNESS for My Clients Plus and their great employees. They stuck with me until the very end!!!

Comments: I am always impressed at how easy it was for me to learn to use MCP software & the service is unmatched in my experience. Cons...hmm. I think the older graphics display for the calender when choosing date of session was easier to see than the new graphics...which for some reason seems faint to me. We are building a new network for our office now and MCP stays; it has become indispensable to us. We will be very happy if we are able to use it for EHR in October, if not before.

Comments: I needed to ask for change to our electronic progress notes. I emailed My Clients around 1:00 PM asking for the developers to make the change. After some back and forth clarification as to what was needed, I received an email around 7:00 PM that same day letting me know that the developers had already made the change. Now that's service!

We do most of our billing with this system and find it a time saver. The calendar is a great tool.

Comments: I started using MC+ one year ago after becoming increasingly frustrated with outside billing services who were often untimely with filing my claims and difficult to reach. The manual is very easy to read and their customer service reps are incredibly helpful when I am uncertain about a particular payor. It actually takes less time for me to file a claim than it did to fill out the paperwork for outside billers! The price is extremely competitive compared to other systems that I researched. The only negative isn't their fault. Most payors require a process of pre-certification which can be confusing and sometimes time consuming, but with their assist I've been able to file most of my claims through their program. Having control over my income stream has taken a lot of stress out of my practice.

Comments: My Client Plus is the third software program I have used. It is seamless! From client setup, coding, intake and notes and billing (both insurance and client) it works easily, intuitively - perfectly. And the few times there has been a glitch (my glitch, not theirs) customer service is US based, prompt, friendly, engaged, professional, and exceptionally knowledgeable. I have never waited more that an hour to get a response, and they have never failed to help me figure out what the problem is and help me fix it. Of the three programs I have used, this is the only one I would recommend.

Comments: I have used My Clients Plus for over 8 years now. My old software was on my computer hard drive and got a virus which corrupted my data. I paid over $500.00 per year for maintenance with the old software and they charged an additional $300.00 to clean up the virus. I don't worry any longer about viruses with My Clients Plus software. It does everything I need and then some. The support staff are caring, respectful, helpful and speak English which is great bonus. I highly recommend My Clients Plus software.

While there are other products similar out on the market, I haven't seen the reason for change as they are very reasonably priced and their response to any questions is immediate and top notch. I bill for over 25 clients and each one has their own particulars and nuances to bill. My Clients Plus addresses those and then is innovative to come up with better solutions! I would recommend My Clients Plus to any single therapist or a multi-practice group.

The software is very well designed and maintained, and it truly covers 100% of the functionality I need to manage my small business. The software is neither over-engineered nor over complicated. Comments: This site does not offer enough stars to rate how I feel about MCP. My wife is an LCSW who has been in private practice for over 18 years. She is an excellent therapist, but when it comes to the business end of things uh ... not so good. About 13 years ago, I offered to do her billing for her. She was using another billing program that was complicated and had horrendous customer service. You actually had to pay extra for the privilege of spending 20-60 minutes on hold to speak to someone who was poorly trained. About 9 years ago, I finally got smart, did some research and found MCP. What a difference! the program is extremely well designed and intuitive and easy to use. As far as customer service, I have never dealt with a company who provided this level of quick competent and friendly service. Also, over the years they have been very proactive about adapting the program to accommodate the many changes with respect to billing that have occurred due to evolving technology To a large extent, because I felt so comfortable with the program, two years ago, I decided to start my own small (me) billing service specifically geared to billing for mental health practitioners in solo and small group practice. And no, I am not giving this rave review to try to drum up business. I was so successful, I have stopped advertising and am not accepting any new clients. If you are a solo practitioner or small group owner, this is THE program for you. With any program you choose, you have to be willing to put the time in to learn the program and set up your practice in the program. But, MCP will make that task as easy as possible and they will be there if you need help. And, it won't cost you an arm and a leg (less than one session per month).

Comments: I strongly recommend this billing program for any mental health care practitioner. I have been using the software program for over two years and found it extremely user friendly. When I did have any sort of question, concern or application issue, the support service was both timely and proficient.
I choose MCP after exploring various software billing options. The fact that all client data was not being stored on my computer, but on MCP's server, was a determining factor is feeling that the confidentiality of clients was secure if my Laptop was stolen of lost, and in the event of my computer crashing -- I would not have the tedious tasks of reloading all client data again.

I left and came back to my clients plus!

Comments: I had worked with MCP for many years and watched the company improve and grow to include a reminder service for clients, a client portal, templates for notes etc. I was very pleased with them but really needed help interfacing with insurance companies on denials and other complications.
So, sadly, I left and went to a billing company that used a huge software program. I stayed for six months and just returned to MCP! The new software was too big to navigate. It was difficult to find reports, apply patient payments after the fact, void out mistakes. Everyone in the billing company had access to my clinical notes. Even though we had a HIPPA agreement in place, it made me very uncomfortable.
I returned to MCP and even had no difficulty re-opening my old account. It felt so good to be back and know how to find reports, see what claims are outstanding, use the templates to improve the clinical review of a client, etc. It is simple, easy to use and the screens are not overwhelming.
I also found a billing company to interface with the insurance companies off of the MCP resource page, which I wish I had done in the first place. The MCP staff are always pleasant and helpful. The company is also open to suggestions.

Comments: I have been extremely happy with this billing and practice management software. For many years I have hired billing services to do my billing for me and that was relatively expensive and often problematic. I decided to try MCP after reading that it was developed by the spouse of a therapist who was having similar issues with billing as I was. To begin with, the customer service was beyond excellent. There was always assistance available by either phone or e-mail and the turnaround time on questions was almost instantaneous. The program was easy to learn, especially since any time I had a question it was answered immediately, and in as great detail as I needed. After inputting the basic information, I no longer take any more time to send claims myself as I did to give the necessary information to a 3rd party biller. The records are clear and the information is encrypted and HIPAA compliant and on the internet so I can access it from any computer or smartphone that I have available. I have no negatives at all to report.

True transitioning from paper to on-line and for many of us from analog to digital is a steep and sometimes challenging learning event. But that is an event that we all have to undertake with any onsite service. The question is whether the investment has served one well. Like so many computer based transitions, once one has made the step, one asks, "How did I do it without?" Remember when you first discovered "cut" and "paste"? Sure beats write it over, yes? Comments: I've been a customer for about two years and think that there are two things that My Clients Plus does better than anyone else -- Clinical Notes and claims processing with all the financial reporting.

I think they have about 80 notes at this point, but they add new ones frequently as we request. Some of my payers have specific requirements for notes, so I really appreciate when My Clients Plus can add them so quickly and make them look just like the payer is demanding.

With claims, it's so-o-o-o easy to resubmit a claim that insurance rejects and see exactly how much money I am billing and collecting. There are nice reports that alert me when I haven't finished a progress note on a client session.

I'm not a tech guy, but some of the other systems I've tried don't work very well on phones and tablets or are slow because of all the graphics. This system is really simple, fast and reliable. It seems to work on just about anything I've every tried.

Comments: I was really worried about learning to use the software, since I don't have a ton of experience billing for myself, but after a few weeks using My Clients Plus, I realized I had nothing to worry about. After getting everything set up, billing was so easy, I worried I was doing something wrong! Customer service is great. They actually answer all of my questions, they're really patient, and they never make me feel like my questions are silly. As with any software, it did take a couple of weeks to get started and learn the ins and outs, but it's worth the learning curve.

By far the easiest to use and most affordable software out there.

Comments: I will admit, when I first started using this software several months back, I had little actual billing experience myself as I had always had a biller in the office who took care of that side of things for me. A friend recommended this software to me and suggested I try it out when my biller unexpectedly left. I'm happy to report I was able to get everything set up and take up billing on my own relatively easily, thanks in no small part to My Clients Plus.

As another reviewer stated, the initial set up is by far the longest, most tedious part of using MC+ , but once that is done, billing is a breeze. I spent some time during the first week of my FREE (always a good thing!) trial and watched the Help videos on their Help page, and I joined one of their webinars to get a better feel for how to get started and I was off and billing in no time.

When I do have questions (it happens to even the best of us), their customer service is readily available and always seem happy to assist me (even when I'm having one of my "Senior Moments" and forget something simple).

So far I've yet to come across a client that has tertiary insurance, as another reviewer states, so I feel, at least in my area, this is probably less common of an occurrence .

What I absolutely love about this software though, above even the ease of billing, are the progress notes. There are so many to choose from, and they just make note taking so easy! I spent a couple of hours here and there setting up my "library" of notes I wanted to use, going through all of them and carefully selecting the ones that worked best for me and now I can take care of everything, from billing to notations with just a couple hours of work a week.

All of this for $30 a month?! I don't know how they manage to offer that low of a price but I am sold 100%!

Pros: The longest part is the initial setup, but it is totally worth it because after you are setup billing is fast and easy. I couldn't have asked for a better system.

Cons: Doesn't have 3rd party billing and if a client obtains another insurance after you have posted a payment for the primary you have to re-bill the entire session. Would be nice if I could click a button and it creates a claim for the secondary...but I still love it

Overall: I recommend this to all of my colleagues.
