Pros The idea that you can create tests and scantron and scan them with your phone is brilliant. All other software that grades Cons The handwriting recognition, as good as it is, could use a lot more improvement. Students still write sloppy and the program needs to do a better job. This is a must have for any teacher. Saves me a lot of time and gives students individual feedback. I will never grade tests by hand again. Cons Sometimes there is a lag or error when taking the picture of the test, but most times it gets it on the first try. Overall a great software program for teachers. Pros Any teacher will tell you that the amount of time we spend grading is obscene. In addition to this, the new demands for data use in lesson planning adds even more weight to the shoulders of your average educator. GradeCam offers a simple solution that lives right in your pocket. Import your gradebook, print out a customizable answer sheet, and scan it into your phone. From there, GradeCam does your grading for you, and even alligns test questions to standards. After your unit exam is finished scanning, GradeCam offers beautiful grade reports that can be shared with students, parents, and administration; all while making you look like teacher of the year. Cons The interface of this software could use some definite work. Alot of buttons do something other that what you'd think they would be intended for and the entire UI could use a makeover for greater ease-of-use. Printing multiple grade sheets on one page can be a pain as well, with a lot of blank space amounting to wasted paper. Also, even when you arent grading, grade cam uses your laptop camera giving you a constant reminder that you look disheveled and also eating up your devices battery life. I use the generic sheets and just have my students bubble In their student numbers. The computer webcam easily recognizes the cards. Feel my student data is secure too. The analytical reports are good. Cons Sometimes the camera has issues seeing the card, I just rescan again. On occasion I have a student use the wrong color pen and I redo the cards for them.
