### "Review of Amicus Attorney"

July 26, 2016

4.0

This program is replacing another case management program. The transition has been simple and not complicated.

Pros

Setting up files, attaching contacts and email to files and adding appointments to the calendar is easy. The client portal is very helpful keeping in contact with clients and letting them know what is going on with their case.

Cons

You are not able to add multiple categories to documents; you cannot create a word document within the program; revising a document and saving is complicated - you have to save to your desktop and then save to case program - need to be able to directly save document into program.

### "I have used Amicus for almost 20 years it serves my needs"

January 30, 2018

4.0

A good place to fine my files and events daily

Pros

The ease of coordinating events with files for calendaring as well as emails saved to files. The syncing of the files and categories separation for files helps. The ease of finding files to contacts is very efficient

Cons

Too expensive especially for small users as well as the tying into a cloud based structure. The lack of responsiveness to technical support too long to wait for response from tech support.

### "Not that great - we have switched to a different system"

January 30, 2018

4.0

Not many.

Pros

It rarely crashes and simple. the interface is older so it loads quickly. I also like that it is able to calendar things in Outlook.

Cons

It is not seamless, does not integrate with other research programs and does not have many bells and whistles

### "Software was good until Abacus bought it."

January 30, 2018

1.0

Only wasted money sent to a corrupt company in Abacus.

Pros

Amicus case management was designed by Gavel and Gown for many years and worked well for a small to medium size firm. Gavel and Gown built great workflows and the system was a great system for many years.

### "Good software functionality, general ease of use. Some issues with getting technical issues fixed"

February 12, 2018

4.0

Pros

Excellent functionality and relatively easy to use. Responsive support on most issues. See below for detailed comments.

Cons

WE had long standing issues with Amicus-Outlook link that were not solved. Finally developed our own workaround via Google calendar link. This fix should have been noted and offered months before. While support staff was friendly and responsive, did not feel their engineering back-up was helping enough.

### "Customer Support is atrocious. You're better off switching platforms than attempting to call "

January 30, 2018

3.0

Pros

I had used this software at a previous office and liked the features for file management, document management, time keeping and billing.

Cons

The new management company / owner. We've even tried adding features (that we have to pay for), and over a year later we still haven't been contacted to install it, despite numerous follow ups. It's a joke. Now we're just waiting for our contract to expire so we can move on.

### "Useful product "

May 27, 2020

4.0

Pretty good, it is definitely handy for our firm

Pros

I appreciate all the ways to keep notes in files and the ability to track tasks

Cons

The notes feature could use some work. Notes don't always pop up and unassigned notes are not always saved.

### "Good product. However, the amicus anywhere suddenly stopped working."

January 31, 2018

4.0

Not missing hearings.

Pros

Calendaring features are great. Also like how all features are integrated, e.g. I can go to a case and see what calendar events are listed, and can see an event in the calendar and be able to go right to that case.

Cons

The text is too small. Hard to see. Bought a bigger monitor, but didn't help. Just put more small text on the screen. Also, wish I could sync calendar to my iPhone.

### "Amicus generally serves its purpose"

February 5, 2018

3.0

Pros

Amicus is relatively easy to use and it serves a lot of functions. I also like that it is networked so that everyone in my firm knows about appointments and to do's for the attorneys.

Cons

I am incredulous that with the current version of Amicus that we are using we can no longer sync our calendars and contacts with our iPhones. We could perform that function with the older version we were using.

### "Terrible technical support and customer service. Product is complicated and not user friendly. "

April 16, 2018

2.0

Pros

Nothing is the short answer. It is complicated, uses different terms for same work area, not as user friendly as the former company which was a great calendar system. So is there a Pro, not at all.

### "Amicus Cloud is pie in the sky"

November 19, 2014

1.0

I had the desktop version 15 years ago and LOVED it. I recently reopened my practice and opted for the cloud version. PRO: moderately reliable. Customer service guy is nice and generally responsive. Easy to use. CON: only moderately reliable and way to expensive for slow speed. Task and appointment integration is not what I need. No way to schedule tasks, other than for the day you want, not the hour you set aside to do them, unless you schedule an appointment. Cannot print the calendar, not the day, or week, or anything. NO print option for the calendar. In their defense, their marketing material does clearly say that if you want speed, then the desk top version is better for you. OVERALL IMPRESSION: If I had to guess, I would say they are either using customers to beta test the product or they are reluctant to dedicate the server space needed to accommodate the demand. Painfully slow page change time, especially related to managing emails and doing email time entries. Composing an email is occasionally whacky, throwing me to the very bottom of the page, under the signature and privacy notice, every time I hit the return key for a new paragraph. Also, although the email screen has a Print feature, it returns only a blank page. I spend a lot of time waiting for the spinny thing to stop and my legal assistant is frequently asking me, "Have you saved that?!" when I am composing a detailed email. Frequently cannot access the system, especially in the evening, such as now, when I am trying to work late to actually get something done.

### "Useful when searching up a clients name or information."

January 30, 2018

5.0

Pros

Works fast, reliable, easy to look up clients name or information. When someone calls and asks for information they don't have to wait long at all. All we need is a last name or file #. The process is not too long

Cons

Sometimes it freezes or crashes, when getting the update we had some trouble downloading the update. Some of the computers lost Amicus completely while trying to get the update so had to call a few times to get tech support to help.

### "Great product, dreadful support"

February 2, 2017

5.0

I have used Amicus Attorney for over 25 years. The recent requirement that users change from Amicus Small Firm to Amicus Premium did provide my office with a better product. But the service from the support team is disorganized, the techs are not sufficiently skilled and I continue to have problems with email and billing following an upgrade/install in December 2016.

Pros

Excellent law office case management program.

Cons

The customer support is dismally bad.

### "Love this softy"

July 9, 2020

5.0

Overall I have a positive experience with this software it works great for me

Pros

Oh it’s so easy to use. I usually have to figure out software for myself as there’s usually no one To show me This was pretty easy to figure out and great organizational tool. Once the database was created everything just flowed with the calendar and the client files together.

Cons

There’s not much that I can say that I don’t like about the software. The only thing I can think of is that it doesn’t work well with word documents. At least that has been my experience maybe I’m doing something wrong

### "Worst Program I've Ever Used"

August 13, 2018

1.0

My overall experience has been terrible. I highly recommend that you look for a different product.

Pros

The interface is good. However, since converting to an online product, they clearly have not invested the resources necessary to provide a functioning product.

Cons

Everything, except its interface. I frequently have to call or email customer support because of its dysfun

### "Very good format."

January 30, 2018

4.0

Pros

Keeps entire office using same format for calendaring, billing and most other matters. We are able to view all our calendars to know who is available and when. Also tracks vacations and time off

Cons

Integration with Outlook and number of clicks to complete tasks. For example, sending an email, tagging the email and then billing to email.

### "Horrible absolutely horrible support"

September 14, 2018

3.0

Pros

The calendar is user friendly and being able to function through it is okay.

Cons

manual is so outdated you can't use it to support anything so they refuse to assist you in anything unless you purchase their support package, but yet when you have the support package, you can't get them to support their own software. Utterly absurd

### "I've been using Amicus Attorney for 20 years, in both a multi-attorney setting and in solo-practice."

February 2, 2018

4.0

Organization!

Pros

It keeps my files, contacts, calendar and communications wonderfully organized. The interface is easy to use.

Cons

I wish it had a more robust accounting feature built in (I synchronize with PC Law). And I wish it could synchronize directly with my Android phone rather than having to use Outlook as an intermediary.

### "Very poorly engineered and supported product."

February 2, 2018

1.0

Product fails and crashes on a weekly or more basis due to weak interface capabilities Expense license cost per timekeeper.

Cons

Weak supplier support for a highly - non integrative application. Is old technology. Does NOT play well with others ie: accounting application. Uninformed tech support does not know how to resolve. Known issues not corrected.

### "Functional Legal Database Program"

January 30, 2018

4.0

Helps keep track of time, calendar and files, which is a great feature There are always bugs or fixes with certain features that need improvement and on occasion the program behaves bizarrely; however, Amicus support has always resolved those issues.

Pros

It has everything in one - calendar, files, document management, etc. to help manage your practice and store data in one location

### "My experience is based off the Small Firm Classic version."

January 30, 2018

4.0

Pros

Ease of use. Easy organization of contact information for each file. Convenient way to document activities on a file which also allows an efficient method of tracking time.

Cons

The version I use has been replaced by a new version which is available only on a monthly subscription fee which is a disincentive to upgrading.

### "Earlier non-subscription version very useful, decent value for cost."

January 30, 2018

4.0

Pros

Extremely useful for legal case-management. Non-subscription versions were a decent value for their cost.

Cons

Current versions require subscription, which I will not do. (I do not rent software; I buy it.) Earlier non-subscription versions had some bugs ("Windows validation" errors, fritzy interconnection with Outlook).
