I am an absolute fan. It helps me to strukture complex topics like legislation initiatives of EBA and german banking authorities. I also use it for brainstorming in workshops. In the end you can use mindomo even for the presentation. We tried three other mind mapping tools before settling here, and Mindomo is the one that stuck because it actually gets used every day rather than becoming shelfware after a month. Pros Real-time collaboration is genuinely reliable — we run entire client kickoffs inside a shared Mindomo map with the client editing alongside us as a guest user. AI features for brainstorming, SWOT, and pros-and-cons analysis save us at least an hour per campaign brief. The ability to switch between mind map, concept map, outline, and Gantt views on the same data means everyone works in the format that suits their brain. Cons Nothing major. It has solid mobile apps and works on the web, allowing you to work with your maps from anywhere. The map can be structured in a number of ways so that you can use it for brainstorming, project planning, building organization hierarchies, or taking notes. I like the many tags you can use to brighten up your maps, and it is great for visualizing information. Cons The price is very high, and doesn't justify the limited features. Mindomo does both, and does them well. Pros The Gantt chart has everything I need — dependencies, milestones with the diamond markers, five priority levels, progress tracking that rolls up automatically from subtasks, and real-time collaborative editing so my project leads can update their sections without waiting on me. When I need to explain the plan to a client, I flip the same data to a mind map view, and it's suddenly understandable to someone who's never read a Gantt chart. Email notifications for tasks due today and weekly summaries on Monday mornings keep everyone on track. Cons Nothing meaningful for what we do. The platform covers our needs well, and I haven't come across any significant limitations that affect our workflow. Even with multiple projects running at the same time, the features we rely on work smoothly and consistently. There are always small areas where any software could improve, but none of them have been important enough to impact how we use Mindomo day to day. Cons There are no major inconveniences with Mindomo. The Mindomo Bookmarks browser extension clips web content directly into whichever map I'm researching for. Cross-device sync means I can capture an idea on my phone during a walk and refine it on desktop later. Pros The AI features actually save time generating a diagram from a topic, expanding branches with related ideas, and translating an entire diagram into another language for our international team. The MS Teams integration with embedded diagrams, link unfurling, and real-time co-editing inside Teams removed a bunch of context-switching from our day. Import support for MindManager, FreeMind, XMind, and OPML meant we could bring historical work with us. Cons There are a lot of plan tiers: Free, Premium, Professional, Team, Business, plus several education plans and a Lifetime desktop license. Some features are gated in ways that aren't intuitive: Gantt charts require Business, guest editing requires Professional, shared team folders require Team. I had to email sales to confirm what we actually needed. Once you understand the matrix, it makes sense, but the initial evaluation took longer than expected. I even tried a software called The Brain, which does what MindModo does, but it's still rather inflexible with it's structure. I love MindModo's clean interface, but can get as complex as I want it to. I feel like I'm drawing out my mind, but don't have to spend the time drawing it out by hand. Very dynamic, can't sing it's praises enough. Pros First of all, love that it's free! It's got a great range of free features that allow me to be productive using it, not just 'test drive' it. (TASK MAP) HISTORY - it's unique feature for a desktop solution as user can see full history of some specific file (map). Also history for all made/used files is available and can be even filtered by user or time period. EXPORT - is a full of options and is one of better ones. THEMES - are a simple and fast solution to make nice and standardized design for your mind maps. MULTIMEDIA - is incorporated in design, from simple icons (plenty of them) to http: links, Nice feature is that icons can be filtered by keywords (color, ...) Pros \- I use images, videos, links... - It's versatile and the looks are impecable. - I can go forwards and backwards on the presentation. - It's cloud based and servers are really reliable. - It's very easy to use. Cons All your work is saved and looks great in a Mindomo format. If you ever save it in another format it doesn't look the same, you feel you've lost your work, so you're somehow tied to Mindomo.
