Code writing

Based on 737 reviews
Users appreciate Microsoft Visual Studio for its robust code writing features, particularly the IntelliSense tool, which offers context-aware code completion and suggestions, significantly speeding up the development process. They find the customizable environment and syntax highlighting helpful for maintaining code clarity and reducing errors, while the GitHub integration simplifies version control and collaboration. Additionally, the ability to personalize the interface and utilize various code formatting tools enhances their coding experience, making it more efficient and enjoyable.

Ide

Based on 670 reviews

Reviewers find Microsoft Visual Studio to be an exceptional IDE due to its support for multiple programming languages and extensive range of extensions. They value the seamless integration with other Microsoft tools and the user-friendly interface, which makes it easier to manage diverse projects and databases. The cross-platform support and active community further enhance its appeal, providing a versatile and comprehensive development environment that caters to both beginners and experienced developers.

Pros

  • It helps to develop and deploy all my applications and services faster with the best quality.

  • It has a good user experience and has a good integration with git. If you are working with azure or azure devops you will enjoy how it easily integrates with these tools.

  • Its a great Windows IDE and has been improved a lot since the start of LTS feature on Windows, it has lots of features and is very easy and beautiful to look at.

  • Above all the pros and cons,I enjoy a lot using this tool which helped me in many aspects.I feel like this tool with better costumer support will be so far the best tool in this category.

Cons

  • Modules/plugins may not work due to insufficient permissions, which can be quite frustrating, particularly as it's not readily apparent.

  • The newer versions do not always have an offline installer and its a pain to have to download the app again onto a new PC.

  • Sometimes error codes are difficult to find out what the real reason for it is. As is with a lot of other Microsoft products, fatal errors do happen without a documented or known reason.

  • When publishing databases and errors occur, the logs are really poor and make it hard to find the problems.

""Exploring Visual Studio Code: A User's Perspective""

Overall: Visual Studio Code has been an indispensable tool in my development journey. Its versatility, with support for multiple languages, extensions, and a seamless user interface, has made it my go-to code editor. From coding and debugging to version control and project management, VS Code has simplified it all. It's not just a code editor; it's a productivity booster. Whether I'm working on personal projects or collaborating with teams, VS Code's ease of use and customization have been game-changers. It's become an integral part of my daily workflow, and I can't imagine coding without it

Pros: Visual Studio Code's coolest feature, in my opinion, is that you can write code in lots of different programming languages. It's like having one tool that can do it all. Whether you're working on a website in HTML, a game in Python, or an app in JavaScript, VS Code has you covered. You don't have to switch between different programs, which can be a pain. It's like having a Swiss Army knife for coding – super handy and saves you time! Plus, you can add extra tools to VS Code to make it even better for each language you use. It's like having a personalized coding helper right at your fingertips. That's what makes VS Code so awesome!

Cons: Integrate built-in testing with analytics in VS Code for smarter development and data-driven marketing decisions.

Reasons for Switching to Microsoft Visual Studio: because vs code have ability to run all the languages in it but is not same in other apps so i like vs cod so much

"Visual Studio Could Be Better"

Overall: Not satisfied, prefer other tools. I wish it would auto detect and have better auto completion and some tools genuinely have it.

Pros: It got good features but it lacks the speed.

Cons: Very slow, and not very efficient whether it is for compiling or anything else.

"I recommend Microsoft Visual Studio if you are a coder."

Overall: Microsoft Visual Studio is an excellent coding environment software program. It is very easy to use and user-friendly. And it is lightweight and runs smoothly on PCs. It supports almost all programming languages and offers many helpful extensions. These features make it the best IDE in my opinion.

Pros: What I like the most about Microsoft Visual Studio is its support for multiple programming languages, and there are a bunch of extensions that are so helpful, such as Prettier, Live Server and Emmet..

Cons: Honestly, there is nothing I don't like about VS Code. I would suggest making the user interface even more creative and providing a wider selection of themes to choose from.

Switched From: Notepad++
Reasons for Switching to Microsoft Visual Studio: Microsoft Visual Studio is easier than Notepad++ in every way.
